If you’re over 30, ttc over 12 months and wearing nipple tassels under your snowsuit then this just might be the thread for you - if you can prove yourself bitter and evil enough. We’ll be the judge of that. Don your snowsuit , cowbell ready - fill in the BESHtionnaire and prepare to meet our icy glare. This is a marathon, not a sprint.

I've been lurking and quietly cheer-leading for Hest and Bugs and the embies. Wanted to wish you both loads of luck and hoping to see some BFP's shortly. You've both been waiting for far, far too long. Candles are lit.

FinallyMrsFC · 05/02/2014 14:31

Another lurker coming back to say I'm thinking of the embies, and sending Velcro vibes. It's been a long tough journey that bloody deserves results this time.

HesterShaw · 05/02/2014 15:11

Yo biatches. My power has gone again so no more mning til it returns. They're saying midnight.

That was some storm. Still kicking wss now.

Yay for Kate and Bob!!

Wrap yerself up in duvets and get a good book to read Hest - snuggle in whilst those embies snuggle in Smile

I'm an exec assistant Bugs - it's not really a contracty sort of a job and it's a difficult one to do from home as it's all about being there and micro managing the poor busy poppets. Am thinking about maybe starting up my own virtual assistant biz though

eurochick · 05/02/2014 16:32

Wot they all said hest. I hope you get the power back soon.

fab that sounds like a good plan. And it would give you more flexibiltiy.

MissHobart · 05/02/2014 17:45

KitandKat - how do they test for that?

Bugs - how did you end up going for ivf? Just cos it wasn't happening for ages? Are you nhs or private? I'm going to start taking aspirin anyway and go to the GP as soon as i get a BFP, I said I worried about a short lp not giving implantation enough time she just agreed with me!? Hmm

I'm no wiser and more menkul Hmm Sad

MissHobart · 05/02/2014 17:47

Oh and another YAY for Bob & Kate Grin

Hmm
QuickQuickSloe · 05/02/2014 18:09

hester the storm ate my post yesterday Angry and it was a very long one.

To summarise: no unnecessary head time to be spent on your mum, candle was lit today at lunch time (church school so allowed), woo hoo for Kate and Bob, big old cwtch and a jelly fish down your jumper.

Head butts to everyone else Grin

FrankelInFoal · 05/02/2014 18:12

It's so nice to see Ye Olde BESH coming out of the woodwork

QuickQuickSloe · 05/02/2014 19:15

Sorry bugs have RTFT and realised I should be wishing you and the embies well too.

Crossing everything for you and will be lighting the candle again tomorrow.

In the mean time enjoy this lobster blush of embaressment at my cack handed Fred reading.

Bleurgh Indeed Angry see

MissHobart · 05/02/2014 20:17

Bah, dropped my phone Hmm

Bugs - Did you get Clomid after a year of ttc with no BFP?

I'm annoyed that I'm not infertile enough and not miscarried enough for more help at the minute, though I'm also incredibly thankful for both. Confused Just about getting my head round stuff and keeping my fingers crossed for a sticky BFP soon! Grin

KatAndKit · 05/02/2014 20:17

Miss H they just did two blood tests on me several weeks apart to diagnose antiphospholipid syndrome. They found some lupus anticoagulant antibodies in my blood. Interestingly the levels were higher in the pregnant sample than the nonpregnant one which indicates it might well have caused the miscarriages. Fortunately it is one of the easier causes of miscarriage to treat.

HesterShaw · 05/02/2014 20:21

Hurrah, the power is back. Along with the broadband signal.

Just wanted to say thanks very much, with head butts and dead arms all round to the popping in ESH. It means a lot xxx

These last few days will live long in the memory, for all kinds of reasons.

I'll tell you the worst bit about ET. The full bladder thing. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck. I had tears in the eyes with the effort. I thought as she pulled out the fucking giant speculum she'd be showered in piss. Thankfully not.

FizzyFeet · 05/02/2014 20:26

bugs grrrrrr some people are just so annoying. Did they genuinely say 'bubba'

hest well done! Now for the TWWOOFL.

missH it's frustrating not to have an identified problem that can be treated. Hang in there.

fab sorry you're feeling a bit shitty. It is a shitty awful business. I have gone from enjoying my job to beginning to loathe it, but am reluctant to leave (excellent mat benefits, short commute, good holidays, good redundancy package). I feel a bit trapped. It's a constant 'wait and see' - let's see if I get up the duff, let's see if the lap and dye works, let's see if the pg actually sticks, let's see if ivf works... It's enough to drive you barmy. I say go for it with your own business. A colleague and I have a pipe dream of setting up in business ourselves - one of these days I might shock everyone and do it!
