Wasn't sure whether to post here on in weight loss but I thought here was more appropriate.

I'm a big girl and have decided to follow the slimming world plan at home. I joined last year and lost over 2 stone (hardly a dent in what I've got to lose....) Confused

Not rejoining this time as u still have everything I need.

Anyone wanna join me? Could do with the company,

2lbs off today. Its a start! :)

Goal is to losr another 10 lbs so five weeks like last week and im there! Easier said that done though. As long as im at goal weight by end of march im happy!

SpanielFace · 20/01/2014 08:37

Can I join please? I am trying to lose weight and also conceive DC2. We've only just started trying, and not doing anything other than having plenty of sex - DS was unplanned (I had a coil) so assuming we're pretty fertile, but I'm 3 stone heavier than when I conceived last time so worried that might make a difference. I used to be a size 14 and slightly overweight, I'm now a size 18 and obese. Sad I gained most of the weight after developing thyroid problems after having DS, I'm now on the right dose of thyroid hormone and starting to see the weight shift, but I'm frightened of having complications in pregnancy if I don't get more off! I'm going to slimming world which has worked for me before. Weigh in tonight!

CherryPie3 · 21/01/2014 14:19

Yay well done Toots!!!

SpanielFace - welcome to the thread.

I'm having a wobbly day today, DH ordered me some hoodies online and they arrived today. Size XL and although they fit, they are very snug. :(

So what did I do to console myself that I'm gonna be fat forever and never have anymore babies. Eat a chocolate bar. Angry

Grrrrr. I'm so so cross with myself, I have done so well and then cave over something ridiculous.

I haven't posted on here for a looooooong time. Since about 2010. But I could do with some company at the moment - ttc dc2 and also need to lose weight. Have about 2.5 stone to lose. Am doing slimming world. Finding it very hard. I have PCOS and that makes it even harder Sad.

I need to give myself a serious kick up the arse to get on with it!!

CherryPie3 · 21/01/2014 17:03

Hi honeybee

I understand how difficult it is coping with PCOS. I'm currently seeing my niece go through this. She's only 4 years younger than me and often comes and cries on my shoulder. She's aching for a child bless her, her gp is beyond useless saying 'why don't you just keep trying' :( Angry

Anyway, sorry to rant.
You're in good company here :) xxx

CherryPie - PCOS is tough. It's not just the weight and the fertility issues it's also the skin problems and excess hair. I find the latter particularly upsetting. But tell your niece that there is hope - I managed to have DC1 with clomid, which was more than I ever hoped for having been told that we would need IVF. I was 2.5 stone lighter then though!

CherryPie3 · 21/01/2014 17:15

Thanks hun. I have told her there's hope, I've also told her to join mumsnet so she can talk to others going through the same. Her gp has told her she'll need ivf.

OP posts:
Honeybee79 · 21/01/2014 17:21

Cherry - we were told that there was no chance of conceiving without IVF due to my PCOS and DH's dodgy sperm but once the clomid got me ovulating we managed it. DH still holds a grudge against the GP for telling him that his sperm were "deficient", to the extent that he keeps threatening to walk into said GP's office and wank all over his desk Shock.

Many GPs don't actually know that much about infertility.

Your niece should definitely join MN if she could do with some support.

maeanne · 21/01/2014 17:50

Can I join you please? I have previously lost over 4st doing slimming world but have put a stone back on. Want to lose about 2st ideally, but would rather be pregnant so whichever comes first is good! Will just lose whatever I can until then.

Not rejoining SW as I know what I need to do, I just need to actually do it! I have been back on track for a week though and have lost 2lbs so far.

pebble82 · 21/01/2014 20:34

Me me me! My perfect thread. And hello to some familiar faces/names :)

I have about 2 stone to lose I think - probably a bit more but I'd be happy with that.

Lost almost 2 stone last year on slimming world but piled it all back on plus 5 pounds. Now the biggest I've ever been. Think I'm just going for losing a pound a week this time - less pressure and gradual might make it stay off.

Have had to buy new clothes which is expensive! Size 18 now but all my nice outfits are 14/16.

CherryPie3 · 22/01/2014 09:17

Yay welcome everyone :) maeanna and pebble :)

Actually pebble, I thought you'd already joined this thread lol. Must be my brain, I know I've seen you on other threads xx

honey I have the funniest mental image now lol!!! Grin
What the doc have said to that then eh?

CherryPie3 · 22/01/2014 09:20

Right. My foodie plans today:

Breakfast: scrambled eggs. Baked beans.

Lunch: reheated syn free chilli con carne from last night, jacket potato.

Dinner: syn free Cajun chicken kebab skewers, tomato and cucumber + onion salad.

Just working on snacks now. Might boil some pasta and munch on that through the day.

LucyJoJo · 22/01/2014 09:25

Honey that made me laugh too! Such happy news for you too to have conceived your DC1.
Cherry I totally sympathise with eating when you are feeling down. I am definately an emotional eater, so have been filling myself with rubbish getting upset about not being pregnant yet, but I know that losing weight would greatly help with getting pregnant! Arr, such a vicious cycle.
Is anyone doing any special diets or just being sensible? I have started going swimming once a week and will aim to go for a walk for 30 min every day, and try to cut down on the chocolate/cakes.

CherryPie3 · 22/01/2014 13:14

Lucy emotional eater definitely sums it up nicely. Yep I am most certainly one of those!

I'm not doing anything special really, just following what I know works - Slimming World works for me. I'm definitely cutting down chocolate, instead I'm now having a teeny bit of Nutella when I feel that choc craving - it's 4syns for a whole tablespoon so a tiny taste (literally tiny!) will hardly be anything.

Breakfast and lunch went to plan. No snacks as yet... Feeling peckish though so will have to boil that pasta Grin
Needn't get chicken out of freezer too so I can prep the Cajun marinade.

Take care everyone xx

OP posts:
LucyJoJo · 22/01/2014 14:34

Ooh I love eating nutella out of the jar!! Guilty pleasure Grin I so need to cut down on the chocolate. I have just eaten some raisins as a snack, not sure how good they are really but they have to be better than chocolate biscuits!! I have done slimming world before but I wasn't very good at going to the groups and I just sort of fell away from it all. I am just trying to eat sensibly and healthily, but it is hard not giving into temptation. Do you like fruit Cherry? Isn't that a free food?

CherryPie3 · 22/01/2014 15:12

I love fruit!! Just about any kind. Except cherries believe it or not haha Grin I can't stand them!

I don't really like he group side of slimming world - I find it rather patronising and not very supportive. Hmm

Love raisins - were they chocolate covered though Grin

SpanielFace · 22/01/2014 15:41

First week back at slimming world and lost 3lbs so happy with that! How is everyone else doing?

CherryPie3 · 23/01/2014 09:29

Yay well done spanielface :)

Doing ok here, just about to have some toast.
I feel very wobbly today I don't know what's wrong with me. I'm really tearful and emotional and so so tired. :(
Hope this change means my reproductive system is waking up!
It would be nice to actually be able to plan out my ttc journey and track my cycle days etc.

Anyway, sorry to waffle on. I wish I could go back to bed but I have a cute little boy here keeping me cosy with cuddles

OP posts:
LucyJoJo · 23/01/2014 21:16

How was your day Cherry? I was the same with slimming world group, didn't really like the host and found it a bit cliquey, I think it's definately the luck of the draw with them!
Well done spaniel!
I didn't do very well, I had some chips with lunch, and someone at work brought in a tin of quality streets, god damn them!! And now just having a glass of wine. I did manage to go for a walk at lunch time though! Will try again tomorrow and hopefully be better. It's so stupid really when I know losing weight will make such a difference with conceiving. I just keep thinking I was heavier than I am now when I conceived DD 3 years ago but I guess I must have been lucky!
How long has everyone been ttc and which number baby is it?

maeanne · 23/01/2014 21:57

Not doing so well here thanks to hormones-af got me yesterday so all I want to do is eat chocolate.

LucyJoJo, this will be our second month properly trying (although we have been not preventing for as long as I can remember!) Hoping for baby no2.

CherryPie3 · 24/01/2014 07:31

Sorry AF got you maeanne :( Fx for next month xx

Lucy - dam the quality streets!! Haha. They're irresistible though, they're the reason I'm off the sw wagon as it is - Christmas chocs!!! :)

Have woken up feeling very queasy today, I don't want my regular morning cup of coffee and have opted for a crunchy apple instead. Makes me laugh really as these are the symptoms and cravings I got when pregnant with ds2. My body is playing games it seems lol. Can't get pregnant with an absent ovulation cycle!
Had a lot of pulling from one side of my tummy this morning too - too high for my ovaries though I think.really hoping these Agnus castus capsules kickstart my body - I've never missed AF so much!

Have a good day ladies xx

maeanne · 24/01/2014 09:46

Thanks Cherry. Hope your cycle settles down soon. x

CherryPie3 · 24/01/2014 10:35

Thanks hun, me too! I'm so impatient! :)

OP posts:
CherryPie3 · 25/01/2014 21:23

Well I got weighed today TTC is officially on hold until I've got some of this horrid flab off. I knew I'd put weight on but obviously was in denial about how much! :( :( :(

Rejoining slimming world on Wednesday. On a mission now.

OP posts:
bumpbangbump · 26/01/2014 10:45

Hi all. I too am losing weigh alongside TTC. I go to sw as well and have lost 2.5 stone since mid September.

Was reading your food diary cherry, I think you probably need to up you super free to kick start the weight loss. They recommend 1/3 of your plate. Perhaps snack on fruit and veg rather than pasta and stuff. I know for me the weeks I've had pot shots and stuff for snacks I've only lost 1/2lb or so. Fx getting healthy helps us all TTC.
