Haven't posted here for a while, but got my bfp this morning. Just a little excited.

Congrats to the other bfps, and commiserations to those who af got.

missmrsmummy · 14/01/2014 06:57

Yay, Monster! Congratulations!

Happy anniversary for tomorrow, Nordic. Don't give up hope!

DoctorDonnaNoble · 14/01/2014 07:12

Congrats Monster.
Trying not to symptom spot at the moment but it's difficult.

Charlie343 · 14/01/2014 07:19

Congrats to monster and all the other BFP's!
I'm now just on the dreaded two week wait for either BFP or AF!

Choccywoccydodah · 14/01/2014 07:20

Congratulations monster!! Fab news! Smile

Congratulations Monster Grin

Rubyshoe · 14/01/2014 07:30

Morning all and congrats to Monster! CD 27 here and AF not due till Saturday. Even if she doesn't arrive am determined not to test til the following week. I don't think it's doing me any good keep testing and get BFN!
Congrats on the job Barmy and glad you are settling in. Nordicom I know exactly how you feel we had our angel last year when I was 37 (I turn 38 at the beginning of the summer) and age didn't bother me.... Now all I read about fertility after 35 is "plummet", I'm trying to think it's probably just alarmist!

rockin20s · 14/01/2014 07:34

monster congrats so many BFP this month its great.

onelifeonechance · 14/01/2014 07:39

Mama-sorry I couldn't check back on yst so ive only just read your post. Know its hard all this waiting, youre doing so well, big hugs to you. But you're entering the fun bit now, its time to unleash KOALA plan ago go!! Have you warned dh?!

Big congrats Monster, lovely news to wake up to.

DoctorDonna, can I ask why you would never have a Private scan again? And why the epu doesnt like them. Just curious

Blithereens · 14/01/2014 08:20

Congrats Monster!!

Still no AF, still no BFP. Who knows wtf is happening!

EnglishGirlAbroad · 14/01/2014 08:23

Congrats Monster!! Fab news!!

CD15 and got a flashing smiley! Yay! Can finally start SWI!! Smile

DoctorDonnaNoble · 14/01/2014 09:01

Because, the report they gave me to go with mine was complete crap and said nothing. With hindsight it was a waste of money. But at the time I thought it would help, my GP really didn't explain anything about how the booking in process and everything like that works. I ended up having to phone the EPU straight away after mine and they couldn't have been lovelier through the whole process. If I had known at the start of all this that you can self-refer to midwives it would have been a completely different experience. Other companies may be different of course but the one I used wasn't very good. I tried not to be judgemental when their information sheet was in Comic Sans.

onelifeonechance · 14/01/2014 09:20

I see, thanks for that, good to know. Sorry it was a waste then but good to hear the midwives and epu are nice and will look after you Smile for free Grin

Flukewoman · 14/01/2014 09:39

Hi ladies. I've been going a bit mental for the last week so have stepped away a bit. However, I tested this morning and seem to have a second line with an IC, but it's reaaally far away from the control line and I can't tell if it's like an evap line or something (I kept the test flat). It was just slightly under the paper where the 'max' line was, but I could see it so lifted it up and voila. It stayed there and didn't evaporate.

AF is due any time now for the next week or so (CD22 today). I'm in a bit of a flap, but I need to be aware of pg as soon as possible so I can be monitored for the development of a condition I had last time in pg. Hence the obsession.

Could you take a look at photos in my profile to tell me what you think? Has anyone seen a test like that?

I know the only real answer is to wait and retest. But seriously, massive flap here.

Flukewoman · 14/01/2014 09:51

Oh yeah and then I flapped around the house a bit getting ready for work, and then looked later (after the 10 mins) and thought I saw a line closer. But then I poked it and think I smudged it. Then had to hide the test because I don't want to involve poor DH in this madness!

Choccywoccydodah · 14/01/2014 10:04

Fluke woman, the line is normally between the test line and the max line, it shouldn't be near the max or flap. Can you try another one. Fingers crossed for a second line Grin

And English WOOHOO!!!!! GrinGrinGrin

Flukewoman · 14/01/2014 10:09

Thanks choccy. I think it may be an evap then - Confused - I've never used cheapies before or tested a bit early before. I'm at work now and no FMU so it'll have to wait until tomorrow.

I really don't think I should be as we only DTD unprotected on CD6 and 7, but then FF said that CD 7 was a fertile day and put me all in a panic, and I've been obsessing ever since. We'd be delighted with a second DC but we had decided to wait because I need a surgery and have some major work stuff this year. I will be sad if BFN but also relieved, and if it were BFP I'd be thrilled and completely panicked. But then I guess many people have mixed feelings. Argh. I wish I could have been patient and just waited a few days.

EnglishGirlAbroad · 14/01/2014 10:10

fluke run out and buy a frer!! FX for you!!

Thanks choccy!
Operation Koala in full effect now! Naked upside down pedalling done for today! Also taking venos type medicine to improve cm... Here's hoping!

Flukewoman · 14/01/2014 10:14

English thanks and good luck to you - I am not sure the village pharmacy has FRER but also I run the risk of running into colleagues or village gossip, I really couldn't buy anything here. I could poss drive off at lunchtime but I think I'd need FMU at this stage.

I didn't really mean near the max line exactly, but on the test strip, but just right at the edge before the paper starts. It really looks like the test line should be much higher so I guess it's just a hazard of using an IC. I definitely didn't dip the stick too much, and I rested it flat, but who knows.

Choccywoccydodah · 14/01/2014 10:43

The line should be more or less in the middle of the test and max line, but nearer the test line if anything. If you have a look online that should help you Smile

OP posts:
Hazelbrowneyes · 14/01/2014 10:43

I'm in my fertile window now so want to just get on with it but I had a smear yesterday which went ok and my cervix looks very healthy...but nothing else does. I need to see a doctor, apparently. So now I'm panicked that if I fell pregnant this month all the rummaging won't help, plus what if I need treatment for something? I'm also now really, really sore so the idea of DTD is not an appealing one.

TTC really messes with your head doesn't it?

Flukewoman · 14/01/2014 10:47

thanks choccy

PolytheneGirl · 14/01/2014 11:32

Bfn this morning at 11dpo. Feeling pretty low. Hoping for a better outcome when I test again on Friday. Sad

rossby · 14/01/2014 11:34

Those fertility stats are really old Nordic and rubyshoes - I looked into it and basically everyone just reuses ancient data from the 1930s (as large enough studies are very rare). Data for modern women is much more positive - for late 30s and even 40s. So don't let it get you down! Will try to find the article I read on it in the observer.

SoMuchFruit · 14/01/2014 12:36

Hi All,

Just popping in to see how you are all doing, brilliantly by the looks of it!

Huge congrats to all the BFP's esp Lucy and Choccy - fab news Grin

Mama - how are you doing ? (I didn't read back - too many millions of pages and not enough time!)

Thanks to all those that AF got too.

And what is all this about pedalling!!!??

I've no idea where I am in my cycle after the MC so just kinda DTD when we feel like it and concentrating on our holiday - 6 weeks til we go, very excited!
