Can I hop back on this bus please. Stats will be ttc#1 cycle2 BFP due end Jan/beginning Feb so might just scrape through for this month's.

MundayCakes85 · 07/01/2014 03:16

Blimey new thread already? Congrats to all the new BFPs and hugs to those who've lost the plot/ are stuck in limbo land/ have silly DPs! Have some Wine and Cake

DH cracked me up yesterday- he said he was convinced I was already pregnant (I've managed to put on more than half a stone coming off the pill) and why hadn't I POAS yet- he say an advert that said it was 99% accurate 1 day afterwards! I had to explain that was after you period was due, not 1 day after sex!! Grin Blokes are so clueless

HRMumness · 07/01/2014 06:21

Petite - That is very frustrating. Welcome aboard.

I think AF has got me. Almost certain actually. Had light spotting last night, this AM woke up with bad cramps and a heavier flow. Might just make it on the tail end of this bus.

HRMumness TTC#2 Cycle 2 BFP due 31st Jan

Am not at all miffed that DH insisted we wait until at least Christmas Day to try, even though this was probably too late to concieve, so have wasted a whole cycle. Nevermind that we have no family here and my DM offered to come from Oz stay with us to help with DD, despite planning to be here Christmas this year as well while his DM swans over here for a holiday and almost outright refused coming when #2 arrives because she won't get much of a holiday. I should add I actually said to her, would she like to be here, since DM was here last time and thought it would be nice for her to spend time with DD, be first to meet the next one.

cottonwool4brains · 07/01/2014 06:37

Ginger. Its been 10 cycles now and I'm getting concerned that something is wrong.

DoctorDonnaNoble · 07/01/2014 07:02

Taking up my seat. I think AF might be due on Sunday but no symptoms as of yet and it's first cycle post MC so I'll just have to wait and see.

Honeybear30 · 07/01/2014 07:12

munday you did make me giggle! One day wait would be so much easier lol. I did have a conversation with my dh last night about how he wished there was some kind of light system so that a green light would indicate pregnancy. How easy would that be?!

Rubyshoe · 07/01/2014 08:04

Congrats to Fairypants and all the other lovely BFPs!
Sorry you are having such a stressful time Petit when we get our lovely BFps we will look back on the and laugh.....
Absolutely know what you mean Honey DH and I reckon it should be like those strong man machines at fairgrounds, you know the ones you hit the plate really hard with the hammer and try and get the bell to ding at the top ? How great would that be.... DTD and wait for the DING and flashing light..... gooooooaaaal!
AFm CD20 here had peaks on CBFM on days 17 and 18
after a longer 30 day cycle last month Am determined not to POAS until day period is due.... Back to work tomorrow so that will help!

RetroHippy · 07/01/2014 08:18

RetroHippy TTC #1 cycle #1 hoping for bfp by end of Jan.

No idea when to expect AF as last months cycles have been 26 and 50 days (bloody microgynon!). Wasn't expecting to be on this bus as DH said Feb but then changed his mind got bored of using condoms

CD 16 today, OPKs say no ovulation so far, so looking like another long cycle this month. Oh well, will just have to keep DTD just in case Wink

Congrats to all the BFPs so far! Going to be an exciting 2014 for lots of us!

spinningirl10 · 07/01/2014 08:19

Morning Grin

Congratulations Fairypants Grin

Petite.....sorry your dh took his work/travel frustrations out on you! That seems to be very typical of men!! And they really don't understand the whole trying ttc thing, it's very different for a woman I think and it's always sad when af arrives Thanks

LH1981 · 07/01/2014 09:07

Well bfn today, no surprises. Now cd58. In a foul mood today, plus I trapped a nerve in my back this morning and somebody put an empty packet of nurofen back in the cupboard!!
I shall take my bad mood somewhere else lol

EnglishGirlAbroad · 07/01/2014 09:24

Morning ladies!
Congratulations Fairy.
And big hugs to all those having a tough time right now. I had a meltdown yesterday. Combination of hating where we live, boredom from not working, missing friends and family and not being pregnant. Just felt so down Hmm
Feeling better today... I think. And DH is being very good with the TTC malarkey.

Another thing that's winding me up... I'm temping - I brought a new thermometer and used both the new one and old one to compare.... Such different results! And ff is giving me the little empty circles (inaccurate data) instead of the solid ones on my chart. Have been inputting the data from the old thermometer. Not making charting much easier to understand!

sazzlehopes · 07/01/2014 09:25

So sorry to those in limbo - LH and Ginger I would have gone completely barmy by now...

Congrats fairypants!

Choccy - so hoping you are pg...surely reconising signs is a good thing?!

CD13 here and peak on my machine which is a few days earlier than normal. Here goes then...! Grin

akachan · 07/01/2014 09:39

Just thought I'd say hello and congrats to the bfps. I'm firmly in 2ww now - I think I'm 8 DPO, maybe 9. Don't feel any symptoms of anything. It's my best friend's birthday on the 13th which is when I'm due on so maybe she'll bring me luck!

Gingerpanther27 · 07/01/2014 09:43

Bfn by way of a change. :( not a whiff of the line I imagined saw last night. Af due next week if it were to appear

Rubyshoe · 07/01/2014 09:51

Good luck and synchronise watches Sazzle!

English are you temping at the same time every day... Won't help different thermometers thing but I know on my chart if I am more than 30mins out it will give me n empty circle and disregard the data.....

LH1981 · 07/01/2014 10:11

And Ginger, I know how you feel about being in limbo land, it's getting a little soul destroying.

It took me 5 years to fall pregnant with ds#1 so I know it can feel like it's never going to happen. Try not to stress, I really believe that being rekaxed is the key. In fact it was only when I accepted we wouldn't have kids naturally and we stopped 'trying' that I fell pregnant!

Good luck and happy thoughts to all you lovely ladies having a rubbish day xx

Hazelbrowneyes · 07/01/2014 10:16

Hi all,

I'm trying to work out if I'm CD7 or 8...AF arrived mid-afternoon on 31/12 - 31 days after last period (first month off Yasmin) and was heavy-ish. Would you count that as CD1?

Anyway, last month I had cramps on CD6, CD13 and seriously bad pains on CD18 so I assume I ovulated on CD18. I have cramps today on either CD7 or 8. I'm hoping this is a good sign and I'm following the same pattern as last month so at least I know what to expect. The app on my phone says I will ovulate around 17th/18th this month, if I keep to a 31-32 day cycle. We're not going down the route of OPKs yet as that freaks DH out a bit. We're trying to keep it relaxed but I'm finding that impossible! I was so anxious last month waiting for AF as I had no idea when it would arrive.

I'm taking folic acid at the moment and have been since the end of November.

pebble82 · 07/01/2014 10:18

Definitely sympathise with all the DP annoyances. I'm sort of pleased you have similar issues with the men not being as clued up or interested. Friends of mine gave me the impression that if they're not interested they just don't care and I should think about whether our relationship is worth it. I was beginning to think it was just my DP. But I KNOW He loves me and wants a family. He's just no good at expressing feelings and is old fashioned when it comes to discussing "women's things". Sometimes friends should just butt out!

spinningirl10 · 07/01/2014 10:28

LH and Ginger....sorry you're still in limbo, really hoping you find out one way or the other soonThanks

Sazzle....have fun Wink

Choccy....really hoping you get a bfp sticky bean this monthGrin

EnglishGirlAbroad · 07/01/2014 10:28

Thanks ruby think i need to set an alarm and make sure i do it at the exact same time everyday....Only prob is... as soon as my cat hears the beeps he thinks its time to get up and starts meowing until i do!! I suppose thats practise for a baby!! haha!!

I don't think men really understand a womans true desire to have children and how ttc can play with your mood and emotions. I don't think that means they're a bad person or bad partner, its just different for them....its not their clock ticking loud and clear. If friends are saying stuff, ignore it. They're not in your position.

mum2kiss · 07/01/2014 10:33

OH MY FREAKING GOODNESS!! AF is trying to kill me! Woke up late this morning because stupid alarm didn't go off! We have downstairs bathroom and i just made it out of the bedroom door when i felt (TMI ALERT!!!!!)splashing down the back of my legs! Made it to the bathroom for the downpour and then came out to get on my hands and knees and scrub the carpet all the way up the stairs to the bedroom door!!!

To make things worse there was hideous traffic and it took me a 2hr round trip to get dd to school (usually 40mins!) all whilst hoping no more flooding occurred in the car!! As if that wasn't bad enough my petrol light was on and I was stuck in traffic! Thankfully made it to the petrol station in the nick of time!

At least I get day off work as I didn't want to risk going in and flooding again at work!

The day is off to a flying start!

Good morning btw!!!

Knottyknitter · 07/01/2014 10:49

honeybear it's a good idea to take vitamin D as well, especially at this time of year as unlikely to be getting enough sunlight to make enough yourself. Helps with bone development among other things and calcium absorption.

Folic acid is important to prevent spina bifida and has been shown to reduce risk of things like cleft palate as well. It makes sense to take both at least for first trimester, so while ttc as ell to make sure you catch the first month. Part of the reason GPs like to see women with certain medical problems prepregnacy is to start a higher dose of Folic acid if they take certain medications.

Those two are the only ones with good proof over a healthy diet though, and the vitamin D one is less secure evidence than folate.

Pregnancy multivitamins are really just multivitamins that don't contain retinal/vitamin A, as high doses mess up the fetus's signalling mechanisms for "build arm here, grow leg there etc" so can lead to problems (same reason to avoid liver etc).

mum2kiss · 07/01/2014 11:06

thanks for that knottyknitter I'd always wondered what was different about pre natal vitamins... I think I will just take pregnacare to be on the safe side...
