Christmas Cheer and all things dear, wishing for a bfp by the end of the year! December Bus is en route for a successful run of BFPS!

Thanks Spinning, it's good to be here. Hope you are feeling better after your crappy night. I've got horrible upper back/rib pain which kept me awake too (too much hoovering to the Christmas CD yesterday I think. Heat pads and a snuggly cat seem to be doing the trick though.

That's right mama, I do remember now, I had an inkling you had a son from a previous relationship but I didn't want to just go ahead and start talking about it in case I was wrong Smile Has your husband looked at getting his sperm tested or anything? I'm just asking out of curiosity or if it is anything you have wondered about yourself?

Yes he's planning to do that after Christmas writer. Think he's hoping we will get a bfp before that as he's dreading it! But he will do it he knows it's important.

It's his Birthday after Christmas as well so will let him enjoy those celebrations first ;)

Oh good - it must feel quite hard on him. You've got a good one there. I imagine some men would be quite reluctant for fear of their 'masculinity' being questioned, however they might wrongly view it. Good things do happen to good people though and if anyone deserves it, you do x

Sad Sad mama....that is so crap! Even I am thinking thats wierd with the cervix and AF and its not my body lol!! Do you think its just settling from bc? or a visit to the GP?

Have been catching up on all the posts congrats to all the BFPs! And sorry to all those who AF got.Sad

I have a question if anyone can help. I'm currently on CD12 and as I've been temping the last 2 months I believe I ovulate on either Tues/Wed. Apart from dtd on Tues and Wed should we be doing it tonight and tomorrow too?! I only ask as DH has been incredibly stressed recently due to work and when he's under stress he doesn't, ahem, perform well (if you get what I mean!) I really don't want to put any pressure on him if I don't have to but obviously want to improve our chances this month. Not sure how best to play this!any advice would be grately appreciated Sad

Mama, there is a DIY sperm check kit you can get from boots, if hubby is a bit (understandably) daunted by a doc visit.
It can't tell mobility but does give a reading for low or normal count. Just an idea.
I got DH to do it just so we knew from the beginning. Good luck though, will keep fringes crossed for jan for you.

Eggs only survive about 12 hours (or so I have read on this forum somewhere) so if you only have sex on the day of ovulation there is only a short window for fertilisation to take place as it can take the sperm up to 7 hours to even each the egg.

Ideally they say you should be DTD on the lead up to ovulation as the sperm can survive I your womb for 3-5 days - the idea is that the sperm is already there and waiting by the time your egg is released.

Thanks Writer that makes sense. I didn't realise it can take sperm up to 7 hours to reach the egg. You really do learn something new everyday!

I didn't realise at first either but someone recommended a really good YouTube video about conception and it was talked about on there - it was really interesting to watch. It highlights just how difficult a challenge the sperm face in order to reach and fertilise the egg. You should go and have a look if you get the chance, there are some really good vids Smile

Well, still in limbo land. Chickened out of buying the digi and opted for a Superdrug own brand. Still sure I see a very faint line but dh says I'm imagining it Xmas Hmm
Going to try a digi in a couple of days and I guess then I'll have my answer. Waiting really sucks, I was so not born with patience!

LH, good luck with the digi when you decide to do it...I can imagine it's a bit bittersweet wanting to get it confirmed, but terrified of doing it too early and seeing those horrible words 'not pregnant' good luck though lovely, for when to do decide to take the plunge x

I'm sorry I've not been very chatty ladies, basically I'm not having a very nice time at home at the minute - family stuff, people interfering etc. I hope no one thinks I'm rude Hmm I will pop in to see those bfp's clock up, and to offer mulled wine to those that AF got, but will be laying low for a few days.
