Come to the BESH funfair - we have a coconut shy, apple bobbing, dodgems and much much more. The prizes? Shiny new BFPs, of course. You can only go on the rides if you're a barren 30plus-er, the entrance fee is one completed BESHtionairre.

Sorry bugs, won't happen again! It was just that fab asked! Will be quietly cheering you on. I hate counters myself!

HWHNN is flying to Malaysia for a week of meetings today so I'm flying solo this weekend Sad I shall probably go shopping to cheer myself up Wink

Today, however, I'm off to see my namesake Grin Stand-by for more Frankel pictures on Facebook Grin

Frankel totally whinnies in recognition whenever Frank comes on the yard Grin Do you bribe him with polos?

No idea, bugs, sorry (I've always tended to being a massive porker).

We are having people round for dinner tomorrow night, which will be fun :)

I'm also bemoaning the fact that we have no park-with-ducks nearby, as I have lots of stale crusts. We have a nature reserve, but I suspect the RSPB would frown at me chucking bread at potentially interesting species...

FrankelInFoal · 15/11/2013 09:43

You bunch of meanies Wink

Acksherly it's been almost a year since I've seen him in person. Not sure how close I'll be allowed to get - stallions can get a bit funny around pregnant women, they can smell the hormones apparently Confused

Bugs has the weight loss been rapid or over a period of time? Stress is not good for your metabolism , so it could be that too. If you're worried there's no harm in talking to your Dr or a nutritionist.

Perhaps some more fat/protein in your diet would help? If you're steadily (even slowly) losing weight, then you can't be eating enough to meet your energy requirements. Maybe choose some more fatty cuts of meat - streaky bacon or belly pork - that might keep you stable. It doesn't sound like you're underweight and need to worry (I think underweight BMI is 18), but you probably don't want to lose any more.

The anxiety/stress won't be helping either, but I'm not sure how you can address that. I stopped working when stress was making me ill, but it's not really a viable solution for everyone.

eurochick · 15/11/2013 12:19

bugs I think 22 is considered "ideal" for conception (I read that in an article somewhere ages ago and it has stuck in my mind) o you might be a touch on the slim side, but not by loads. You certainly look great in your FB pics! I wish I could manage the same. I'm not huge or anything, but about half a stone bigger than when I started IVF and I can't seem to drop it.

FrankelInFoal · 15/11/2013 18:36

Pics of my boy now up in t'other place Grin

JethroTull · 15/11/2013 18:42

Frankel looks fabulous Frank! What a beauty.

Bugs I also lost a fair bit of weight leading up to IVF. As long as your not in the desparately underweight category o don't think it matters. Enjoy eating some cake (gluten free) for a bit Grin

FizzyFeet · 15/11/2013 18:56

Evening all!

bugs my bmi is 21 and no-one's mentioned it being a problem. I second the advice about adding some more fats and protein to your diet - you're doing quite a lot of exercise so will be burning far more fat. I have dropped all crap from my diet and seen no change in my weight at all Confused but then I have been on an exercise ban.

Had another scan this morning - I have 1 viable follicle on my right and 4 on my left. Bit sorry that it's not a better number, but hopefully the quality will be ok. They did raise a worry about my lining being too thin - any tips, wise hags? Re-scan is on Monday with a view to EC on Weds or Thurs.

This weekend I will be mostly sleeping a lot. We have a friend's party tomorrow night which will be nice too. I've given up disguising my non-drinking now and just give people a hard stare if they say "a soft drink? Are you sure?" Grin

Fabuluce · 15/11/2013 19:22

Protein time Fizz! The best thing to do is cook everything with the following:
Chicken
Eggs
Lentils
Beans - kidney, aduki, borlotti, cannellini etc
Chickpeas
Hummus
Nuts
Cheese
So for instance a good days food would be to have porridge for breakfast with 4 brazil nuts and a nana (selenium, protein and happiness), an omlette with veg and cheese at lunchtime, some hummus and a carrot mid afternoon and a chicken and chickpea stew for dinner. If you can tolerate hot milk then have a steaming mug of hot milk done with cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla. It's lovely and will help keep your womble snugly for the night. An easy way to get protein into your diet is to pile on the beans and lentils into everything as they aren't so fattening as cheese. Red meat is obviously high in protein but it's also higher in fat, but not necessarily the right fats. Venison is better and goat, if you can get it, is fabulous on protein and lower than chicken for fat! Bring on the curry goat rice and peas I say.

FizzyFeet · 15/11/2013 19:27

Thanks for the tips, fab! I have already upped my protein intake but beans and lentils are a great idea. As for goat curry - GFBW will be delighted! This is the man who thinks nothing of killing a live crab in our kitchen so a bit of goat is right up his street Smile sadly he has a horror of nanas.

How are you doing? Hope you are getting some quality time with your dad, and that TWH is looking after you as best he can from a distance.

Fabuluce · 15/11/2013 19:43

Ps - I did this for both rounds of ivf and produced great quality eggs and had a lovely lining which i think was really helped by my concentration on diet. Annoyingly my problem is maintaining the pregnancy which is apparently down to my auto- immune issues. Arse!!
AF

Fabuluce · 15/11/2013 19:47

Whoops cross posted with a random AF thrown in for good measure - sorry!

Dad is fairly stable at the moment so I'm looking forward to a mini break at home with TWH - simple pleasures :) at the moment I am tucking into a rhubarb crumble cake that I baked earlier - it's always good to have something to offer to the multitudes of carers, nurses, doctors and other visitors - downside means I can't resist them myself!!

Fabuluce · 15/11/2013 19:52

I can thoroughly recommend goat curry - just make sure you cook it long and slow!! Crab murderer??

eurochick · 15/11/2013 20:01

frank my bestie has a video on her phone of what appears to be her firstborn inventing twerking in utero - the whole thing was vibrating! It was properly freaky.

Enjoy fab!
