Congratulations again llw.

Hope wish's FET goes well x x

Appointment at 2.20 to pick up meds and have scan. One day at a time is now my new motto.

Badhairday76 · 04/10/2013 12:58

Llw - right now you are proof that one is enough! I think the NHS allows two embryos to be put back if you are over 37. I would be quite scared of the prospect of twins, tbh, although obviously extremely grateful if I was in that situation.

Still - I think you have an excellent new motto. Good luck xxx

starsandmoonandback · 04/10/2013 13:47

Still, that's a perfect motto. We should all try it Grin

Drizzle, this will be my 4th HSG Hmm lucky me!

Fab, interesting about the heat. Although in the hot weather our core body temperature isn't meant to change too much (I read up on this last cycle because I had a raging temperature of 39.6 a few days after ET!) However isn't Spring meant to be a good time to make babies? GrinGrin chicks, lambs, baby birds...Grin

Hello ladies!

Llw I just knew it. I had a good feeling for you and it was right! So pleased Flowers

In regards to embryos being put back, my clinic will only allow 1 embryo on a fresh cycle and recommends 2 on an FET.

I had 2 put back today because they believe pregnacy is more likely with 2 from frozen, I also love the idea of twins so I'm happy.
As for the spotting I've had it is thankfully coming from my cervix which the doc said is caused by the hormones. The clamp bloody hurt this time round because of it! Ouch!

Stillhopingstillhere · 04/10/2013 14:34

As an aside how long do people usually have to wait at the clinic? We usually have to wait at least half an hour and it makes me really anxious plus everyone in the tiny waiting room is there for the same thing and it feels very awkward. 15 minutes we have been waiting and three different people have come to check my name and address. This worries me a bit!

Stillhopingstillhere · 04/10/2013 14:34

Oooh fingers crossed wish! I will hope for twins for you x x

twinklestar2 · 04/10/2013 14:36

Congrats LLW and congrats on being PUPO wish.

Can I ask you both if you know the grades of the embryos that were put back?

starsandmoonandback · 04/10/2013 14:56

Yay Wish, you're pupo GrinGrinGrin

wishwash · 04/10/2013 14:58

twinke I had 7 embryos in the freezer which they said were all very good quality. I had 3 frozen on day 5 and 4 on day 6. They say day 5 embryos are better so I've had an early blast (they don't grade early blasts) but they said it was great quality and a well expanded blast. I didn't ask the grade because I don't want to stress about it and google too much this time. All I know is that I have a few early blasts and a couple 3aa's in there.

I asked them if the quality would be the reason if it fails and they said no, the quality of our sperm and eggs are excellent so that's all I'm worried about!

Please forgive me twinkle. Where are you in the ivf world? We cycled together last time didn't we? x

Fabuluce · 04/10/2013 15:00

Woohoo wish is PUPO Grin

Stillhopingstillhere · 04/10/2013 15:02

Had my scan, I now have a large ovarian cyst - are we ever going to get a break?!
It wasn't there three weeks a go last time I was scanned. It's 8cm, nurse was a bit worried about it twisting and advised no exercise of heavy lifting.

Maybe this is a sign from a higher being that I shouldn't be doing this?!

Llw2 · 04/10/2013 15:11

Congrats on being PUPO wishGrin

Twinkle I didn't ask, I know they put back in the best one and the two in the freezer are of slightly lower quality but I thought it would send me nuts worrying so I didn't ask

twinklestar2 · 04/10/2013 17:01

Hi wish, I'm waiting to do FET which will be in a few weeks.

LLW - starting to wish I hadn't asked! Driving myself barmy!!

nobeer · 04/10/2013 17:06

Wish I'm delighted for you! At my private clinic they do up to 3 embryos for old gimmers like me. I only had 2 last time, but might be brave and go for 3 next time round.

Still sorry about the cyst, I hope it's not causing too much discomfort. Maybe this is a sign that you and your DH need to have a more serious conversation about IVF. You're the one who needs to be sure about it, and more importantly have the right frame of mind to go forward.

AFM I've just rung the clinic to ask about immune testing. The nurse rang me back to ask me what I meant exactly and now I'm not very sure and I feel like a crazy person who looks up medical advice on google. I'm going to try to make an appointment to talk to the doctor about it face to face. I also would like some clarification re timings as we're moving house and I think it would be more sense to get the stress of the move out of the way so I'm in a better frame of mind.

Stillhopingstillhere · 04/10/2013 17:46

Tbh I had no idea it was there! No pain, nothing. That's why it was just a shock!

However I felt really disappointed so I guess that means I must want to go ahead with the treatment.

nobeer · 04/10/2013 19:02

Still in a good way, I'm pleased you're disappointed. I didn't like the thought of you going into this without really wanting to. Good luck at your next scan, and do take things easy.

My nice doctor called me back, they have an immunologist in Madrid, so she's passing on my details and history, and they'll phone me for a telephone consultation and advise me on whether I need further tests.

IWantOneNow · 04/10/2013 23:04

Brilliant news ll2 I'm absolutely thrilled for ur BFP - good job Grin.

PUPO high five wish. Nice work Smile.

Isn't it lovely that we r getting some good news on this thread eventually - I'm getting all excited for us all Flowers x

IWantOneNow · 04/10/2013 23:07

brookerc I agree with calling them 'stingy little fuckers' they so are!! Third jab today for me too and although I'm getting quicker at getting it all ready and injecting, the stuff still stings. It itches after too for about 10 mins or so - all part of the fun of IVF eh?! Wink x

Llw2 · 05/10/2013 09:13

Iwant, mine stung and then itched for about 10minutes too. You do get used to it. I tried sharing it with DH so he felt more involved but it hurt when he did it so in the end I just did it myself, keep going it doesn't last long x

chocolocodowninacapulco · 05/10/2013 09:36

Morning girls!

Huge congrats on the BFP llw Grin

Congrats on being PUPO wish, sounds painful about the clamp [ouch]

Sorry to hear about your cyst still, have they definitely said you can't go ahead at the moment then? When were you last scanned?

nobeer good news that you can get some immune testing underway

iwant ow for stingy little fuckers

How are your jabs going brook?

Hello to fab, badhair, stars, twinks, drizz bugger and talulah

AFM, on the train to London for the last bit of the mock cycle, the trial embryo transfer. It's a weird feeling that I'll be going through the transfer process but with no embryos, oh well! I get to take cyclogest too, oh joy!

IWantOneNow · 05/10/2013 10:21

Ha! Funny u should say that llw as my DH did it on the second night and it came up in a lump! Tuh! I did it again last night - no lump! Hmm. Think I'll stick to me doing it Wink.

Good luck choco (even tho it's only a mock one). Treat yourself to something nice afterwards Grin x

wishwash · 05/10/2013 10:53

Good luck today choco. I know there's no embryos today but at least it's all to get you ready for when there is!

llw and iwant I find it fascinating that you DH's will even consider doing the injections for you. My DP is terrified of needles so freaks out whenever I even talk about it. It's quite funny really, it has provided me with some entertainment at least. We do like to wind each other up so why miss that opportunity? Smile

AFM... I was determined to carry on life as normal after ET this time as I was off for 2 weeks last time and did nothing. Yesterday I went for a short walk with DP, went out for a meal with my bestie and today I am shopping with some girly friends! My doc said I can't do anything to change the outcome now, it's in the hands of the gods so I need to keep telling myself so I don't blame myself when it goes wrong!

BrookerC · 05/10/2013 10:57

Good morning!
Iwant just another 3-4 weeks' of the SLF's My nurse suggested pinching the skin when stabbing. It's better than not pinching . Also, do you sit or stand? I've tried both ways & definitely prefer standing. DH does mine as I like to get him involved (but it's less painful when I do them - may take over myself if I start bruising though)
nobeer your call to the clinic made me smile. I rang mine yesterday too as I wanted to speak to my cons about my switched protocol (I'm after some further explanation & reassurance), when I got on the phone to his secretary my point got lost. I kept thinking, what do I actually want to know?!! FFS! Anyhoo, he did ring me back (on the landline after 6pm after trying my mobile - well impressed that he tried both phones. I was having a bath not expecting him to ring at that time!) He didn't have my latest notes in front of him but will ring me back Mon/Tues to discuss. Made me feel better for now anyway. It's good to hear you'll have access to a specialist. How are you feeling about it all?
Good morning to our PUPO lady wish Smile
choco good luck today. Cyclogest? Wow! That's one experience you don't need to simulate surely!?
Hello to everyone else

BrookerC · 05/10/2013 11:03

Still what is your clinic suggesting regarding your cyst? Are they waiting for your next AF to see if it disappears on it's own or looking to remove it? 8cm is huge!

Stillhopingstillhere · 05/10/2013 11:52

They've just left it!
However I was not impressed with this so went to see own gp, she could feel it through my skin and wants to see me again next Wednesday and will arrange another scan if no better.

I last had a scan five weeks ago and there was nothing there then, and I've had numerous scans since starting down this ivf route and all has been fine. Bloody typical that this month there is a cyst. My gp is a specialist in women's health and very good. She said it may well go on its own but needs to be monitored as they wouldn't want it to get any bigger.
My clinic had advised me just to wait until next month but to be careful and not to make any sudden movements as it may twist over. Great, I will just sit really still for a month and not lift or play with my four year old.

It's given me something else to worry about and now I'm worried that there may be a problem with me as well as dh as apparently the cysts can be caused by a hormonal imbalance. Although cycles are 28 days exactly and all blood tests have shown hormone levels to be ok.
One thing after another!
