Ta Buggerlugs - nope, am up in the wilds of the Scottish backwoods! Only clinic up this end of the country is in Aberdeen. Snow-land. And thanks val - you soon Smile! I see brooker's doing well - keep up the good work!
The embryologist said that other embryos might develop overnight, but that the best place for the developed one is inside me to keep cooking (her exact words - haha!), so will just see if it's one or 2 transferred tomorrow. I thought it was always one they transferred but apparently not - am all a bit new to this stuff...

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 07/11/2013 22:22

Hey does anyone remember me?
Sorry I've not been around, I've been deep in the depths of depression due to nothing happening in ttc world. I'm finally having my consultant review next week post ICSI in August. I'm getting a list of questions together to ask and was wondering if anyone has any tips on what to ask?

Just to recap we are unexplained, had ICSI as DHs last sperm sample was just below their criteria for IVF (previous samples have been fine). I have a good AMH (19.2) and I'm fairly young at nearly 32. We got 11 eggs from long protocol. 6 fertilised and only 2 made it to day 3. I got a BFP but sadly miscarried at 5+6.

We are nhs and this is the first time I've seen a consultant. We saw a registrar at start of treatment who told us nothing/barely engaged so I'm planning on asking a lot of questions this time. We have another 2 cycles funded.

Brooker yay to being PUPO!! Hope those two lovely blasts are settling in for the next 9 months Smile

Missm what fabulous news!!! It's lovely to hear these things do happen.

Hello everyone else Grin

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 07/11/2013 22:25

Good luck for ET tomorrow Bikes
Grin at embryologist asking if you could fit in a visit tomorrow!

vallinnapod · 08/11/2013 09:10

Hi Cupcakes - I remember you from my many visits here Smile

I was in a similar position BFP with an FET then a MMC at 9 weeks. My main demands questions were around immune issues (despite having a DS from my first IVF). I had a recurrent miscarriage panel test (which tests everything bar NK cells). It cost £580 but was worth it as they identified I had a mutated MTHFR gene which can increase the chances of miscarriage. It's easily (and cheaply!) treated with high dose folic acid. We also opted for PGS (pre-implantation genetic screening) - they will biopsy my embryos at day 5 for the 3 tripolody disorders as well as two other chromosome issues which would automatically cause MC at some point. It's expensive (and additional £4000) but I cannot face getting PG and having another MC for those reasons again.

Other questions could be around egg/sperm quality. General embryo quality. Was the MC just 'one of those things' or can they see what might have been an issue (for this one they will probably just not know)? Any lining issues? Would they do anything different next time?

BrookerC · 08/11/2013 09:37

Morning all!
I'm not at work until lunchtime today as I went to a gig last night

talulahbelle · 08/11/2013 10:04

Feeling slightly sicky hungry, but I honestly think it's the progesterone slowing everything down.

More tonight. Brooker - this time next week your 2ww will be over.

IWantOneNow · 08/11/2013 10:18

Hello everyone . I'm doing my own head in with all this waiting and I'm still ages away from testing.
talu that's a good idea. I'm exactly the same as u.
OTD Mon 18th Nov. 2d transfer 2 x 4 cell.
I'm gonna try really hard not to test before as I'm away that weekend and don't want to spoil it if the test is neg on fri.
Welcome back cups Smile. I'm so sorry it's been such a hard road for u lately, thinking of u x

IWantOneNow · 08/11/2013 10:25

brooker I too have hurry boobs and twinges down there. I think that is to do with all the messing around they've been doing up there lately, it's hardly surprising our bodies are a little pissed with us after all that invasion! Wink.
I know I mentioned an upset tummy, but can I ask a personal q to all who have been thro this before or going thro it now - has anyone had any bladder problems since transfer? I've found that sometimes I'm only just making it to the loo in time to wee and so scared that I'm not gonna make it that now I'm going to the loo 'just in case' every 5 mins!! Blush. Anyone or is it just me? X

IWantOneNow · 08/11/2013 10:27

Thinking of u bikes. Hope everything went smoothly for u and ur now PUPO!! Yey! Grin.

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 08/11/2013 10:28

Rabbit I read the most recent parts of the thread last night. I'm sorry to read things haven't been going well so far, please don't give up hope. Is this your first cycle? Everyone reacts differently, it may be that your clinic will need to use different drugs to get a good response. I know how hard it is when things don't go as you hoped. It's a really hard process. Thinking of you Thanks

Brooker and Vanilla thanks for remembering me! I know how quick this thread moves and I've been rubbish at keeping up. I've read agates post this morning, Beetle sent me a link to it. It's really useful, so I've got a lot of questions to ask. The main things I'm worried about are sperm/egg/embryo quality, also I had spotting before EC which was probably due to v thick lining between 16-19mm. There is not much info on thick lining but I've read very thick lining can shed causing early miscarriage. So I'm now thinking along the lines of a scratch but am not sure if my clinic offers it. I'm also concerned about repeat miscarriage even though this is my only official one so far in 4 years ttc. But I've never really been one for testing as I can't take bfn's. About 18 months ago I did a test as AF was late, I got a BFP and my period started that day. I didn't test again as I assumed it was a chemical. I've had quite a few late AFs but I don't normally test until I'm a week late. So I'm concerned that I could have had other early losses/chemicals especially as I bled from 12dp3dt up until my miscarriage was confirmed. Obviously I've no way of knowing but I think I will ask about immune testing. I would be will to pay for it privately.

Sorry for the epic post!

Yay to the PUPOs. So that's Brooker, Talulah and Bikes, anyone else?

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 08/11/2013 10:30

And Iwant! Sorry for missing you Smile

I was nearly constantly weeing post EC but I have a weak bladder anyway and I was drinking at least 3 litres of water as I was paranoid about OHSS so I just put it down to that.

vallinnapod · 08/11/2013 16:25

iwant bladder was fine but I had the most awful constipation and piles on progesterone. Good luck with the waiting - to Brooker and *Talulah too.

AFM, teeny bit of growth. Several 9s, 8s and 7s plus a host of smaller ones. They are keeping me on 300 until Monday. Then they will reassess and take a call on cancelling or looking at EC towards the end of the week. My oestrogen levels are pretty low too - 595. Can anyone let me know what theirs were by the time you got to EC?

Thanks!

talulahbelle · 08/11/2013 18:23

Hi All
bikes I hope ET went OK, how are you feeling?
iwant So nice to have a test buddy. Are you symptom spotting like mad? I know I am.
rabbit I'm sorry things aren't going well. Try and stay positive.
val I hope things come together for you over the weekend. The numbers of follies sound good. I have no idea what my estrogen levels were, sorry :(

Got to go, dinner has arrived :)

eurochick · 08/11/2013 18:39

Hi Cupcakes I remember you. I'm lurking and occasionally posting here while I wait to start my next cycle in a few weeks.

I'm having the scratch in a couple of weeks, so I will give you my verdict on it!

talulahbelle · 08/11/2013 18:49

Right.. pizza devoured.

iwant I am waking up in the middle of the night to pee. Very annoying as I don't like getting up in the cold and dark. I'm hoping that's a good symptom.

euro nice to see you back - I hope your scratch goes well.
cupcakes I have a rubbish memory for names, I hope your next appointment is better and you can start to move forward
brooker I keep telling myself it's the progesterone, but I'm still noting every niggle and feelings. I am having a few old cramps, v sore boobs, and the hungry/sick feeling. Today I can also add slightly weird taste and watery mouth. I hope so much these turn into something good.

Hope anyone I've missed is doing well too :)

Tonight I plan to get an early night, and am looking forward to a lie in tomorrow. We are supposed to be out with friends tomorrow - any idea on how to hide the fact I'm not drinking?

BrookerC · 08/11/2013 20:17

Hi all!
iwant not only am I peeing constantly but I am bursting lots of the time! I'm putting it down the amount of water I've been drinking since starting DR (2-3 litres a day). I am also having to get up in the night talulah. Nice pizza? Grin
val don't know my E2 levels from this cycle but just looked back through my notes from cycle 1 and E2 was 1,267 on day 13 of stimms. I carried on stimming for another 2 days. Collected 8 eggs and 7 fertilised. Not sure what it means really but hope it helps x

vallinnapod · 08/11/2013 20:21

Thanks brooker I think they just want me over 1000!

bikesaregreat · 08/11/2013 20:28

Hi all, thanks for all the good wishes for ET today! After another epic round-trip cross country (8 hours this time - good grief!!) am PUPO!!! Wooo!! DH is convinced it will fall out and is insisting I lie down and put feet up while he sorts out dinner... I'll take that. Smile

We only had one fertilised egg in the end, but as they said today, it only takes one to do the job... rabbit maybe one follie is all you need? Big hug. x

bikesaregreat · 08/11/2013 20:30

Also - had to laugh when the nurse told me to take it easy but carry on with life as normal... on any given day with my job I can be out horse riding, on a raft, snowboarding, canyoning, jumping in the sea... I suspect that's not what she means...Grin Luckily am desk-bound for the next few weeks thanks to my understanding boss and then will see how it goes.

IWantOneNow · 08/11/2013 21:20

Yey! Congrats bikes. I'm very pleased that u've got an understanding boss as those activities are hardcore - I wonder whatonearth ur job is? Hmm...
val I have no idea what my oestrogen level is/was, don't know if I've ever had that taken? Sorry I can't help
all. Thanks for ur replies on the peeing, it sounds like we r all feeling the same thing - that's made me feel better Smile
I'm off to bed soon, quite tired. Sleep well all x

eurochick · 08/11/2013 21:42

bikes as a desk jockey, I am very envious!

chocolocodowninacapulco · 08/11/2013 21:47

Evening lovely ladies Smile,

bikes I've said it before, I'll say it again - you are hardcore. IOTO! Well done, you're PUPO, and great that DH is waiting on you.

talulah the symptom spotting drives you mad, doesn't it! You never can tell, can you? Early night and lie-in sounds like just what you need.

val good to hear there's been some growth. What day of stims are you on?

cups nice to see you back. Definitely ask re: immune issues and I was going to suggest the FF thread for follow-up questions too.

bugs sorry the consultation felt heavy. I've lost count of the amount of times I've followed some of those bloody forms in. You sound like you have a good list to put to the consultant.

rabbit sorry to hear your scan wasn't good. So, have I understood correctly? You are going to try and carry on with this cycle?

owl great news on your scan.

brooks fab news about the blastocyst you have to freeze. How's the menkulling going?

Hi to euro and iwant and anyone else I've bound to have missed.

AFM, I went to the clinic yesterday for the scratch, the one-off DR injection and to go over the treatment plan. Can I just say, I had a scratch 4 months ago and only had about 5 secs of pain- yesterday however, oh fuckitty fuck did it hurt! Having said that though, it is only a couple of mins at the most and then no more pain DH made the helpful comment 'which consultant did it right, I wonder?". I stop the pill on Monday and then in for a baseline scan next Friday. It still doesn't seem real! It looks like DH's frozen sperm will be moved over the next few days after us having to chase them up as they have done nothing about it in the last month since we sent forms in - grrrr.

Is anyone up after me, but before the Christmas shutdown? ET should be week beginning 2nd Dec.

Fabuluce · 08/11/2013 22:28

Delurks to wish huge congrats to all those PUPO ladies, wonder in amazement at Bikes job and welcome Cups back into the fold. Cups I had the immune tests done, it's worth doing, albeit they cost a bomb - I now know that only extensive use of hard core drugs are going to help me :/ but if I hadn't have had the tests I could have gone on with another round of ivf and the traumas attached to no avail so I am grateful that I know now although I was surprised at my sadness from it all but suspect that was tied up with my last ivf fail in august too and my poorly pa. anyhoo, I'm not sure when we'll be doing our next round so I really shouldn't be on here so I shall relurk again...

chocolocodowninacapulco · 08/11/2013 22:36

fab get yourself back here now, young lady! I shouldn't be here yet either technically! Plus, we need your recipes! How is your pa?
