Your last thread got somewhat derailed so I thought I would treat you to a lovely shiny new place full of real open fires, fluffy blankets and an aga for baking bread and warming soups and stews. Back on with the job in hand ladies, lets have a round up of who's doing what and when.

No news yet I'm afraid. DD still asleep next to me after a fun night full of teeth! Will get there soon..

musicalmrs · 04/12/2013 09:35

BFN, as suspected. Had to use a Tesco digital as I couldn't find the normal one. Will see if I can deconstruct the cartridge later, just in case it has anything interesting within, though I doubt it!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 04/12/2013 10:20

Oh Musical I'm sorry Xmas Sad.

CakePigeon · 04/12/2013 10:41

Ah musical sorry about that, brooking for a late showing line

keepitgoing · 04/12/2013 11:10

Damned faulty pee sticks :(

I wonder how long you show as pg? Unfortunately I don't have any sticks to carry on the brookers experiments.

musicalmrs · 04/12/2013 12:07

One of those things. If I'm not updiffed though, wonder why I'm feeling sick so much at the mo. Hmm, Googling needed..

So if it's not me with Gen's AF BFP, which Brooker is it? Smile

GenericDietCola · 04/12/2013 13:50

Oh boo, sorry Musical. Who's got the BFP then?

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 04/12/2013 16:56

Nuts. Oh well, perhaps you aren't 14dpo after all and it's more like 10. Wink Can I ask, what would the cartridge show? Do you actually crack the whole thing apart?

musicalmrs · 04/12/2013 17:18

Who knows Too! I don't know how sensitive Tesco digital ones are either.

It wasn't very hard to crack open the cartridge - it was just a normal looking pee stick inside. Clearly the digital fandango on the outside just reads the control and looks for a line.

It has occurred to me that I probably ought to test every so often (once a wk? Once a fortnight? ) until AF does appear, in case it never decides to and I end up confused! What are the best cheapish sticks to get? Geek, I'm trusting your pee stick knowledge here Wink Are Superdrug ones still recommended?

musicalmrs · 04/12/2013 17:32

I promised myself I wouldn't do this, but.. went back to the test and double checked it, and there's the faintest of faintest lines. It's only visible in certain lights though (and still hardly visible), so I'm pretty certain it's an evaporation line. Especially 8 hours later.

RemoteControlGeekToyOfTheYear · 04/12/2013 18:27

Just a quickie as on mobile (i hate these things) musical I think digi lines do things differently to normal tests, there's often a visible line. Not sure if it might not be like a cbfm stick, where it's the darkness that matters rather than if there is a line iyswim? Still brooking like mad for you though xxx as for the best cheapies, I know others have had great results with superdrug tests but I only trust frers now after my last ivf experiences.

Cups, do you get three nhs shots then? If so, great call on sticking with nhs for this round since you have a date, and a shot at sp. Nothing ventured, nothing gained :)

Sorry for recent lack of posts, am still struggling with this bug. V hard to find the energy to keep on top of things right now. Starting new course if antibiotics this evening so hoping to feel better soon.

musicalmrs · 04/12/2013 19:20

Thanks for the info Geek. I'll do some research into it - I've been teaching since my last post so haven't had a chance to take a look. I suspect it's still a negative, but worth checking up. Somewhere I have a normal test, but couldn't find it anywhere this morning.

Sorry to hear you're still suffering so much. Hope the new antibiotics work wonders quickly for you.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 04/12/2013 21:47

Oooh, Musical! I hope you have found your spare test now!!

I agree with Geek FRER are the best. Internet cheapies are awful!!

Geek lovely, I hope these new antibiotics kick in soon. You really are having a tough time x

musicalmrs · 04/12/2013 22:49

Not to worry Maybe, I shan't be investing in any internet cheapies Wink I'll go and look at FRERs, Superdrug tests, and all things pee stick like tomorrow.

Not sure about the digital. Some people agree with what you say Geek, that there are always two lines - others don't. I reckon it was evap or something to do with the test, it's so shadowy and faint.

DH has given me a pep talk reminding me how early it is and how I thought I probably wasn't pregnant anyway- which is true. Just need to buck up and try to forget about things and not constantly symptom spot for a bit!

SantaMaybe · 04/12/2013 23:05

But we all love a symptom spot Xmas Grin

musicalmrs · 04/12/2013 23:18

SantaMaybe, slip a sable under the tree for me..!

musicalmrs · 04/12/2013 23:18

...I have a symptom list as long as my arm Wink.

SantaMaybe · 04/12/2013 23:25

Xmas Grin Musical!

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 05/12/2013 09:28

Music I think it is a good idea to test every few days or so as with your cycle being all over the place you never know! Superdrug tests are really good if you don't want to use internet cheapies. I think they are very sensitive, nearly as good as FRER.

Geek yep we have got 3 nhs goes luckily as I can easily see us using them. We have set 4 goes as our limit but I don't know if I'll be able to stop if it still hasn't worked not that I'll be able to afford it
How are you doing? You seem really run down at the minute. Do you think the prostap might be part of it? X

keepitgoing · 06/12/2013 01:49

cups you will only need two goes. Brooking fact. Not long now, sweetheart.

Hi geek

beedle hope you're ok and enjoying non ttc time

RemoteControlGeekToyOfTheYear · 06/12/2013 08:07

musical I second the testing every few days. I am still keeping AF occupied here (thought she was on her way out but guess she changed her mind) so there's no chance of her turning up at yours just yet Xmas Grin

cups that third go is purely there to give you peace of mind and help preserve your sanity while you go through this, your BFP round. You will most certainly not need to even think about a fourth.

I'm doing ok, but as you say feeling very run down. I called my clinic but they said that the illness etc was not attributable to the prostap and everything else I'm feeling is probably more to do with being ill than anything else. Af was on her way out (so I thought) at the time I called so I didn't bother mentioning that I was still bleeding.

Going to try and do a full day in work today. Not got any plans for this evening, thankfully, so will probably just chill and have an early night.

Love to all brookers xx

SantaMaybe · 06/12/2013 08:40

Oh Geek you poor thing. I hope these new antibiotics kick in. But I know how run down they can make you feel too. My AF when I was down regging seemed to last forever. It wasn't heavy, just wouldn't go away!! Hope you have a relaxing evening, and if you an manage a full day, listen to your body x

Cups I will have no more talk of this third attempt. Number two will be the one. That is all x

Thinking of you too Beedle

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 06/12/2013 10:51

Morning hope you feel better soon Geek x

Ive just been to my teach appointment. The nurse has now said there is no way we will start at Christmas due to how many people are cycling at the minute. We will have to wait for January. I'm really pissed off.

RemoteControlGeekToyOfTheYear · 06/12/2013 13:08

Oh no cups that's utterly rubbish! Surely they would have known what level of demand they were experiencing at the time they booked your teach appointment. Will you still get your cycle quicker than if you had moved to the private clinic? Can you try throwing your weight around a little and telling them that you are considering taking your funding to another clinic because of their awful treatment of you last time, and that you had been prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt but are now reconsidering?

maybe I hadn't realised dr had made your AF drag on too, that is really reassuring. I've not got any pain with mine, it's just as you say - quite light, just won't go away! I had wondered if it was just my polyp bleeding in reaction to the prostap, which is also a possibility (I think).
