We just got married in July and I always thought we would have a honeymoon baby. Well I got a BFN on my first cycle so didn't happen! So onto cycle 2...

Would be great to have someone on here to chat to.

Yep so true broody! friends and family!

My younger sister has a 10month old bubba... heart just melts when I'm around her.

DH said the other day when he's around her and especially when she's at our house and we are playing with her and he just wonders what ours will be like. She looks alot like my sis which means she's v similarly to me to and he enjoys being around her but its hard to!! 😔😢

B1985 · 26/08/2013 08:47

Ignore numbers added sad faces from phone Confused lol

wispaxmas · 26/08/2013 10:51

I think I would find it hard if I had a younger sibling with a baby, but as it is I'm the youngest, so my sibs already having kids just seems natural. My SIL is about 7 months along with a little girl, and my sister is currently 4 months with a second boy, and I have 3 nephews already, and H's sister has 2 little girls.

I really want our children to have cousins close to them in age, as cousins were such a big part of my life growing up!

Most of my friends aren't having babies yet, except my MOH, who unexpectedly fell pregnant back in march!

B1985 · 26/08/2013 12:13

I got married after her so although its odd kind of odd was expected.

ALL my friends are having babies now! A few are preg with there 2nd's!!! One mate had her baby boy same week mine was meant to be due so found that v v hard.

Same here we have a massive family and all the my
Cousins are having kids now and we are literally Lidl a big group of best mates!!! So I'd really want to have baby to be around same age or not too much difference esp with sisters baby girl!

Roll on September testing!! Wink

Wow! What a lot of posts since I started the thread. Hello everyone.

Here's my intro:
I am 29 and my husband just turned 31. We bought our first house this year. We got married a month ago. Now we are hoping for children. We know how to do all the expensive things in one go!!

According to the app on my phone I am in the fertile period of my cycle. I am going to try using some cheap ovulation tests this month aswell. Ahhh hope everyone gets bfp this month!

The only birth control I have ever used is condoms. I figured it would be easy to get pregnant but the more you read the forums etc you realise it doesn't necessarily just happen straight away.

Nice thread to start! So many newly weds having same fears, anxiety, excitement, questions!!

Great outlet!! Thanks mrsdino

Aww hoping the best newly sorry to hear about losses.

I've really been trying to be laxed & just track periods and try as much as posdible but really thinking getting ov tests if I don't get a BFP September 12/13!! Cheap ones from Amazon sounding good.

wispaxmas · 27/08/2013 10:47

Dino, it was a great thread to start, as I'm sure a lot of couples start ttc shortly after getting married. We hadn't planned on doing it straight away, but changed our minds the week before our wedding! We're also going to be buying a new house before we have a kid, so all the expensive things within the year!

Writerwannabe83 · 27/08/2013 11:31

Newlywed - how awful!!

I had the same thing with my Mirena and it was so infuriating because it delayed our TTC. I went to my GP to have it removed and she couldn't find my strings to pull it out with. She referred me on to a Sexual Health GP who specialised in Coil removals and she couldn't find it either. She was digging around me with all her instruments for about 5 minutes before she admitted defeat. I then had to get referred to a Specialist Clinic in Leicestershire and was told the waiting list was 6 weeks! GRR! I was really panicking as I'd heard of coils perforating the womb and floating into the intestines. Eek. When I eventually got to the Specialist Clinic they performed an ultrasound and thankfully found my coil hitched up right near my Fallopian tube and were able to remove it but it was so so painful! When they got it out they saw my strings had wrapped themselves around the actual device hence why the GP's hadn't been able to fine them.

Once it was out though we got pregnant on our first month of trying which made the whole thing more bearable!!

I hope they find your implant and you can get TTC straight away!!

MrsB2013 · 27/08/2013 22:17

Writer Did you have a proper af before ttc?

Writerwannabe83 · 27/08/2013 22:33

I did indeedy and it was messy and horrible.

I had my Mirena out at the end of the May but my ovulation occurs earlier in the month so we had missed my fertile period. So it was just a case of waiting for my next period to arrive which did during the last week of June. It was a slightly longer cycle than normal but I think that was due to the removal of my Mirena.

Once my period had finished we started TTC and conceived on CD16.

keepswimming1 · 28/08/2013 15:43

OMG B1985 - Insanity...really? They are hard lol fair shout to you, I used to do them but have stopped, still trying to build myself up to it to start again :)

B1985 · 28/08/2013 16:00

Ive only started to do it from last week..with hubby so suppose that helps. Its KILLA tho!

Working on logic if get into routine now its only helping my body get stronger for when (fingers x) i do get pregnant. Cant be bad for me!

it is so hard though!! lol hope this lasts!

PinkHat1 · 28/08/2013 17:23

I am 27, husband is 33 and it will be our first child. We had always talked about trying for a baby a few years after we get married but it wasn't until the run up to our wedding (February) that we changed our minds. We bought our first home together 18 months ago and are both in secure jobs so decided to make a go of it.

We'll be the first couple in our group of friends with children. One close friend of mine just had a baby and another friend fell pregnant not long after our wedding!

I only started using OPK in August but going to be making FULL use of them this month. I'm in my third cycle and still not got a firm understanding of my cycle yet so it has been an interesting few months getting to know it after being on the pill for just over 10 years! Fingers crossed that September is all our lucky months!

keepswimming1 · 28/08/2013 19:00

B1985 - Yea I used to did them with hubby to but as he works away I get to slope off :)
But since coming off the pill I have gained a bit of weight so I might have to up my exercise to lose it.
You think the same as me ref - getting fit to prepare my body for being pg - also hopefully will help me get back into shape after. plus it does kinda take your mind off not being pregnant (only a little)

B1985 · 28/08/2013 19:09

Keepswimming1 - defo kind of helps take mind off ...the random new hobbies and things I'm picking up now to just get mind off not being pregnant! Lol!!

keepswimming1 · 28/08/2013 19:28

Same, I joined a calorie counting website yesterday, just to help me shift these extra lbs and already I'm not thinking about pregnancy as much - how long it will last though I just don't know. :)

wispaxmas · 28/08/2013 19:32

Hah, last year I was trying to distract myself from wedding planning, and this year it's trying to distract myself from ttc. Last year we got a puppy, and this year my distraction is right move!

MrsDinoRawr · 29/08/2013 07:22

I have heard of insanity. I dis the 30 day shred and want to start doing it again. Can you do exercise dvds when you are pregnant?

Rightmove sounds like a great distraction. I spent hours on there when we were looking for our house.

Newlywed so sorry to hear about your losses. My mum died when I was 13. Taught me to try to make the most of what you have. I also really believe in fate. So I am trying not to stress about ttc as it's out my hands.

What cycle day is everyone on and what date will people be testing?

Me:
Cd:15
I am due on 14th Sept.

Need to baby dance but got home after midnight last night and didn't think husband would appreciate been woken up and he left as 6.45am!

OP posts:
B1985 · 29/08/2013 08:30

Lol same hubby was exhausted after lectures for his accounting class so no baby dance!

I think if your body is use to exercise u can still do light exercise during pregnancy but that's why trying now so whilst I can still do some stuff...won't be able to do insanity during - its quite mental! Lol but feeling good sweating buckets!

Distractions are the way to go and fingers x for us all for BFP September!

CD19...I'm due 12/13 Sept! I think though I'll do a test if no AF on 12th but if negative will literally wait 2 weeks as last AF was 17 days late and even though used poundland tests its mentally and emotionally draining seeing negative and still not getting a AF!!

Have a good day everyone x

skd83 · 29/08/2013 08:44

I've taken my last pill last night. So I'm hoping to get normal cycles again soon and get TTC without getting too obsessed. It's partly exciting but I'm also nervous in case there's any problems.

B1985 · 29/08/2013 09:34

morning skd83 itss so easyto get obsessed, but try simple tricks to distract self... lol reading, exercise... new hobbies - crafts? lol sounds silly but sooooooooo works!!

Being nervous is the worst so hard not to be but it really does mess with body i think my period was so late last cycle purley because i was a nervous and anxious wreck!

Have you started taking your folic acid? Thats good to start early.

skd83 · 29/08/2013 12:51

B1985 I am just about to finish my 3rd month of folic acid, so all prepared on that front. Sounds like good advice about distractions. We are in the process of buying our first house so packing, moving, and unpacking will keep me busy for the next month or so. I want to enter more races because I like running but I get tempted by the sofa if I don't have races to look forward to. However, I don't want to enter a half marathon for next year in case I am pregnant. I should probably just enter and see, rather than revolve my life around the 'if'!

B1985 · 29/08/2013 18:35

Same here been on it 3 months and abit now! Hoping it makes the difference!

Wow you got loads to district self with' congrats on new home!

Lol tell me about it I'm taking night of insanity workout and its all the sofas fault!
