This is a positive thread for all those diagnosed with High or Very High NK Cells and looking to start TTC or already pregnant on Prednisolone and/or Intralipid treatment.

Newcomers very much welcome!

Baking hope all goes well today!

Miss welcome to the thread I don't know as much as some of the other girls on here as I haven't been on the treatment for that long but I would think that you have to be diagnosed with High NK cells before they give you any steroids! I found that with my NHS consultants hence we are with Dr Shehata

Miss sorry how rude of me congratulations on your BFP!! Sorry my brain is all fuzed!

Village good news about the results! It's so scary wanting to TTC again!! DH and I found it so stressful timings etc, so I think depending on what he says we will ask him to do steroids from BFP and maybe have an extra round of intralipids whilst TTC!!

I'm feeling slightly better! Hand on heart though I'm not sure I can be bothered going through all this heart ache again! And I know it sounds horrible! But sometimes I think how many more times can my body do this? I know it's a faze!! Next week I'll feel differently!! I'm sure

Xx

Bakingtins · 07/11/2013 16:22

All ok at 10 week scan Smile so I'm to start weaning off the steroids. They will scan me in 2 weeks and all being well sign me off to normal antenatal care after that....

village I'm glad you got some answers and have a plan. It's very scary putting yourself back in the firing line again, so your feelings are completely normal.

teamdozie · 07/11/2013 16:57

Baking I'm so pleased for you! How exciting and you can start weening off!

Hi girls just a quick one. Slowly but surely through the evening I've developed really bad cramps. Today I've had some spotting with clots which I was expecting. But not this pain!

It comes and goes in waves and when it's here is quite bad. Not sure what to think of it. It's been a week since my ERPC. Has anyone experienced anything like this?

TMI but no funny smells. I'm a. It worried cause DH is away.

Xx

Missmidden · 07/11/2013 20:09

Thank you all so much for your advice. I have been in meetings all day at work and only just checked this again. I am feeling slightly less panicked now as have had more cold like symptoms today but will call my consultant tomorrow and see if he will do something like Prof Quenby does. I do fear though, Team that I may get the answer that without a diagnosis he won't treat.

It is all horribly stressful, but I feel a bit of a fraud as compared to some of what you ladies on here have been through I don't have much to complain about. So thank you for being so kind and I hope you all have success on your treatments.

VillageMum · 07/11/2013 20:37

baking that is the most fabulous news!

Missmidden best of luck, hope your consultant is helpful!

team after my last ERPC but one I had the sort of cramping you describe just before passing an enormous clot... there could be more to come. I would ring Mr S or Louise if I were you and just check in with them. Louise should be able to offer some words of wisdom and/or reassurance.

Bakingtins · 08/11/2013 07:11

team hope you are ok and the cramping has stopped.

teamdozie · 08/11/2013 09:14

Thanks baking and Village

How could I forget? It was like contractions!! I took some strong painkillers I had been prescribed after my last Erpc and went to bed! I feel much better today thank you!

I hope they get in touch soon with my results!

Xx

freelancegirl · 08/11/2013 09:37

I've had a few weird pains Team and the odd small splodge of blood this week too and it's been about 2 1/2 weeks since my ERPC. I guess it's normal? Hoping so. I would like to see someone when I get home from holiday - a scan would be nice to check it's all gone. Not sure how to do that - will ask gp.

teamdozie · 08/11/2013 11:00

Hi Free I emailed the consultant that has looked after me after every MC and asked her if she would see me in two weeks. And so I'm going to the EPAU on the 18th to see how things are. So I would say if you know someone maybe do that or contact the EPAU!?

Ahhhh holiday!! Music to my ears! I think I need one of those too!

Hope everyone is well.

Started on hydroxy before the weekend and so far no funny side effects - though I understand it take six weeks to build up properly in your system. Feeling excited about ttc next month now!

teamdozie · 12/11/2013 07:59

Hi Village it's such a big step starting the hydroxy isn't it? I've been on it for 6 months now and I've not had any side affects! The 6 week countdown fakes foooooor ever!! Lol!!

Hope it goes quickly for you!

VillageMum · 12/11/2013 08:17

Hi team thanks! How are you feeling?

Just a question to anyone in the know about superovulation (which I'm having next month): if it doesn't work, do you try a few natural cycles before having another SO cycle? Or do they do them back to back?

teamdozie · 12/11/2013 09:26

I'm feeling ok! I'm in a "can't be bothered" zone at the moment!

It's so weird! I can't keep my hands off DH at the moment and we will get told off if we fall! (Or I think we will). But it's too much effort to use anything! Hahah

I think Dr S is putting me on SO when we see him next. They did say it depends on what happens mid cycle!? But don't quote me on it!

Arianrhod · 12/11/2013 10:44

village My own experience is that you keep doing SO cycle after cycle. Louise told me once that people 'tend' to be pregnant (if they're going to) by about cycle 4. I got pg twice in the period I did SO, but MCd both times.

VillageMum · 12/11/2013 11:33

Thanks team and ari. I have another question for anyone (ari, duggs, brownstag? You all know so much!) who has researched the use of supplements, especially during SO... I will run this by Louise too but expect she will recommend you don't take anything during SO other than the Pregnacare, Vit D3 and aspirin.

My question is: I know vitex shouldn't be taken with letrozole, but what about COQ10 and l-arginine? I'm assuming inositol is OK to take during SO as it's often given in the run up to IVF. Any answers as to the other two much appreciated!

brownstag · 12/11/2013 11:38

I got pregnant with letrozole, coq10 and l-arginine. The latter two are definitely fine, but should be stopped at BFP (actually I gradually phased out the l-arginine as I was convinced it had improved my lining so much that I didn't like to stop suddenly). Obviously I then miscarried, but that was chromosomal.

VillageMum · 12/11/2013 11:41

Thanks so much brownstag. Were you doing SO at the time?

VillageMum · 12/11/2013 12:38

Sorry brownstag, just saw you did mention letrozole, duh, obviously it was SO! Maybe my brain/eyes not working is the first side effect of the hydroxy??

brownstag · 12/11/2013 15:52

:) Yes; I had recently added those two supplements to my regime and got my first (definite) BFP in 5 years, with SO. Also DHEA.
Awaiting my DHEA saliva test results at the moment. I am just developing a big crop of man boils after 2 months or so of being on it, 12.5mg. Sigh.
When do you start the SO?

VillageMum · 12/11/2013 19:13

Brownstag I start SO in about two weeks - I'm just about to ovulate in this cycle, which we're sitting out while I wait for the hydroxy to reach the right levels in my system. When doing SO I'm planning to stay on inositol, l-arginine and COQ10 together with Mr S's supplement regime. Good luck with the DHEA - I've heard it can do great things, but have never had my levels tested...

By the way, is it still possible to use a Clearblue fertility monitor during SO, or will the letrozole play havoc with it??

brownstag · 13/11/2013 11:52

I've never used a monitor but I would think you can't use it, since you're over-riding everything. What does it test as well as LH? If oestrogen levels too then they will be suppressed by the letrozole early in the cycle.

VillageMum · 13/11/2013 14:46

Thanks brownstag, good point. Yes, the CBFM also tests for the oestrogen rise just before the LH surge. I suppose the monitor (which has a 'memory' of your last six cycles and makes predictions about ov accordingly) could get utterly confused by the weird new letrozole-triggered data! It might just blow its little batteries Smile

Waves to everyone else. It's very quiet on here - hope no news is good news?

Arianrhod · 13/11/2013 16:28

Ditto to what brown said about co-q10 and l-arginine, except that I keep taking both even after BFP. Bear in mind that agnus castus affects letrozole or clomid, and shouldn't be taken at the same time. Letrozole will mess up your CB monitor's reading, so skip that - actually you won't need it anyway, since Mr S will tell you when to trigger your ovulation. I did try using it on my first SO cycle and it gives you skew readings; don't bother :)
