Taking the plunge to TTC. Who wants to join and handhold?

It will be my third. DC2 is about to start school. TTC was quite fraught after a miscarriage when we were trying for DC2 so I'm trying to keep things chilled but I can feel the nervous shiver and butterflies starting. 7 days until I can test. Who wants to come along for the ride?

We can do it!

Keden - looks like you ovulate early?

VJONES1985 · 21/08/2013 14:15

Also, keden - did your cycle return soon after stopping the pill?

B1985 · 21/08/2013 14:16

OPKS get to expensive i think CB is the best/easiest.

I've never understood the temping and I know i'll get obsessed so staying clear. Different things work for different people.

lol im always feeling hot and sore boobs! odd pangs here and there! just cant trust my body!

Bathroom cabinet stocked with Poundland preg tests! lol otherwise gets to expensive...hope they actually work though!

B1985 · 21/08/2013 14:19

Its different for everyone. Last year I stopped taking pill in and my cycle returned straight away! literally next month and then 28 cycle .. ive heard different stories from different people. They say can take up to 6 weeks on average dont they?

VJONES1985 · 21/08/2013 14:19

I use cheap poas opks from Amazon, £7 for 30. Buying Superdrug hpts next week, as apparently they are very good. I'm sure they're all basically the same though.

VJONES1985 · 21/08/2013 14:21

B - it can take up to six months to settle down but hopefully I will be okay. All the signs are that I ov yesterday (cd19) and I hope it's a smooth ride from now on.

jaykay987 · 21/08/2013 14:22

Yep I've got the Mazon opks too.

I also bought the amazon HPT. So cheap (similar to OPk price VickyJ mentioned). I've got a couple of FRER's but saving them for if I get a positive on the amazon ones.

VJONES1985 · 21/08/2013 14:24

Good idea, jaykay. Am aiming to poas when I'm 12dpo,if the witch doesn't catch me before then!!

B1985 · 21/08/2013 14:26

sorry i meant 6 months not weeks! Yes hopefully be a smooth ride!

Might look into these Amazon kits if no luck this month!

KedenTTC1Cycle2 · 21/08/2013 14:27

Hi VJones85,

It appears so! According to the app I've been using and my EWCM observations, My fertile periods usually starts about a week after the 1st day of AF. Plus, I was avoiding getting pregnant from January to June, and it worked. So I reckon that I am on the right track re: fertility.

Erm my last pill pack finished early December. I didn't get AF until January 19th. So I'd say it took about 6 weeks?! And AFs been regular since then.

VJONES1985 · 21/08/2013 14:30

Not too bad then. I've had two patches of ewcm this month so not sure what that means but am enjoying learning to read all the signs my body gives me.

Karmalaa · 21/08/2013 14:42

I'm impatient to get AF (after stopping contraception) so that I can start charting properly!! Doing lots of research and reading makes me feel lots calmer about it all to be honest, plus it gives me something to do whilst I'm propping up on pillows post DTD Grin

Karmalaa · 21/08/2013 14:44

I'm usually a real worrier but I feel calm and just feel like grinning all the time - bit weird Grin

VJONES1985 · 21/08/2013 14:48

Aww, that's good. I'm quite calm but I'm a negative person so sometimes feel like something is gonna go wrong for us!

B1985 · 21/08/2013 15:28

Im usually such a positve person and I know that m/c are common and Dr's cannot give u a reason 100% why they happen but im such a worry wart since, gave myself 6 months to give time to body head and heart to start ttc again.

Last time seemed to easy and too good to be true so now its hard not to obsess 2nd time round!

All clear from Drs and im not unhealthy or super fit either... i like my junk..caffiene, exercise not v often but then I eat alot of fruit and veg ... trying to cut out caffiene but not changing much else...

VJONES1985 · 21/08/2013 15:42

I'm the same. But I know several people who have got pg while unfit, overweight, etc, and while that doesn't make it okay, it does make me realise that there's nothing wrong with sometimes eating junk or drinking alcohol while ttc. The best thing is to relax rather than beat yourself up about things.

B1985 · 21/08/2013 15:52

yeah thats so true!

Quite recently i know 3 people who quite over weight (not being nasty) and they had perfectly fine pregnacy and carried full term no complications.. then i know someone thats totally healthy within her BMI and she got gestational diabetes. baby and mother were fine though. theres a dozen stories to each scenario...exactly relax

i feel talking on here relaxes me as other women havinb the same thoughts feelings fears... its comforting and feel going through it with others, sharing the highs lows etc!

VJONES1985 · 21/08/2013 15:56

Yeah,it's great to have people to share the load. I have type 1 diabetes so that adds to the worry a hit but I'm sure it'll be fine.

gwenabee85 · 21/08/2013 20:05

Can I join too? I've just been diagnosed with polycystic ovaries so my cycles are ridiculous, currently cd35 no sign of ov or af! We were going to wait until December but as don't know what's going on with my cycle decided to not exactly try-try, but we're not using protection. We're both 27 and been married just over a year.

VJONES1985 · 21/08/2013 20:21

Hi Gwen! Good luck.

B1985 · 22/08/2013 06:28

Hi Gwen

Best of luck! :)

KedenTTC1Cycle2 · 26/08/2013 17:48

Hi Gwen welcome and best of luck to you!

Will you attempt charting to get clued in on your cycle?

Karmalaa · 28/08/2013 12:40

Hi guys, how's the whole TTC thing going with you all? I'm 28 days since nexplanon removed and still no sign of AF.... been DTD almost daily as I was too impatient to wait for a full cycle to start TTC. I was starting to feel nauseous, headachy and so so sleepy the last few days (couldn?t keep my eyes open at lunch time!) then of course I started analysing everything and endlessly googling ?how long until AF after Nexplanon removed???!!??
I was actually doing a dance this morning when I saw spotting ?Hooray, AF finally arrived I can start charting and properly taking control of TTC? but it really was just spotting, there?s been nothing since?

I?m using this post as a way to get my crazy out!

gwenabee85 · 03/09/2013 21:57

Hi keden, I'm charting yeah, although the doctor advised me to stop I can't! It's the only thing I'm doing, trying.to not come on here too often so don't get too obsessed, it's hard though! :/

rockstars12 · 04/09/2013 08:44

Hi everyone! Im 28 TTC #1, DH is 37, been together 5 years but got married end of last year. We were going to hold off a bit longer, but I don't want to anymore. DH although older is incredibly fit and healthy, more so than I am.
I came to the natural end of my Mercilon in August, had 6 day AF begin 5 days later. Normally it would only last 2-3 days as I'd have begun a new pack. As it's only the first month off, I have no idea what's going to happen. But nearly all the advice suggests not this month and maybe not for a few more, but ill try every few days regardless. Though, I just picked up a virus and am poorly, so hubby won't go near me and it's approaching my potential middle of cycle ovulation time! Sad
