It will be my third. DC2 is about to start school. TTC was quite fraught after a miscarriage when we were trying for DC2 so I'm trying to keep things chilled but I can feel the nervous shiver and butterflies starting. 7 days until I can test. Who wants to come along for the ride?

We can do it!

P.s newforest you are not old, you've just waited until you can offer a stable home. When I had my first at 21 Icould barely afford nappies, so waiting has advantages too.

Hi all, I'm brand new to mumsnet and brand new to TTC!!! I'm 30 and my nexplanon removed on the 1st Aug, we're not telling anyone we're TTC which feels odd but also a bit special too. I am already obsessed with all things TTC, I've read every book going!

WeightyKaty · 14/08/2013 13:58

I'll jump in too! I'm 32 DH 35 got married in June and came off the pill 10 days ago. Have been taking folic acid and trying to be stress free and exercising 4 times a week. Will just see how things go for a while!

lilyfluff2288 · 14/08/2013 14:06

Me too!! I'm 28, DP 33, first time. I came off the pill nearly 3 weeks ago and had a short 3 day bleed and have been DTD nearly every night, so fingers crossed, I'm itching to poas again (a couple of BFN after missing a couple of pills) trying to wait until the end of the month!!

B1985 · 14/08/2013 14:47

HI!
I am 28.... TTC no1...last year I got BFP first month of trying but m/c at 10 weeks and its been 6 months since. Officially started last month and my AF was 17 days late (never been that late although my cycles are messed up since m/c)...i think the stress and i've become so obsessed caused it to be so late! AF so all over the place cant work out when I ovulate so need to try take it easy and try every day now.... lol from tomorrow!

Good Luck everyone x

Karmalaa · 16/08/2013 07:28

Hi guys, I'm interested to know about all your TTC preps, I've been cutting down on caffeine which has been really hard! I'm a few cups a day kind of girl but I'm down to a single espresso before I leave for work and sometimes an earl grey in the afternoon. I'm also taking lots of vitamins and 800mcg of folic acid, eating better and exercising every day. As I'm new to TTC do any of you have any tips for me to get pre-pregnancy and (fingers crossed!) pregnancy ready?

TotallyPaninied · 18/08/2013 19:06

My AF has arrived bang on time. Hrrrrrmph. Time to start over again I guess!! Anyone else have any news?

Hi all!

Started ttc yesterday Grin. First baby. Terrified of so many things.

Karmalaa · 21/08/2013 13:22

Hi CoffeeGuzzler my first time too! I'm veering between being obsessed, terrified and wildly excited!!

B1985 · 21/08/2013 13:29

I've been cutting down on caffiene to! I got into habit of drinking pink lucozade every morning!

lol with you on that one @Karmalaa - I two am totally obsessed, terrified and wildly excited!!

Hoping all goes well this time around! I've also been taking pregnacare for last 3 months (conception one.

AF messed up but next one supposedly due 12th Sept!! Literally trying every day because have NO IDEA when ovulate (trying to chill out about it as you can see lol)

VJONES1985 · 21/08/2013 13:36

I've been focusing mainly on relaxing, as I have a stressful job and am well-known for being a worrier/negative person! Am also on Pregnacare vits and prescription dose of folic acid.

B1985 · 21/08/2013 13:42

Good luck VJones! Hope for the best for you (and every1 else on mumsnet ttc).

Relaxing and enjoying this time is the way forward! stressing will only make it harder and sometime sjust delays period which just gets hopes up!

breath in and ahhhhh relax! lol

VJONES1985 · 21/08/2013 13:48

And you! When are you due af/bfp? An educated guess puts mine at Sep 3rd which feels a loooong time!

Karmalaa · 21/08/2013 13:48

I'm excited for us all! I find it weird not to be talking to anyone around me about it - we've not told anyone we're TTC and I'm a right chatterbox! I'm loving researching online and reading lots of books about TTC, they keep me sane!

VJONES1985 · 21/08/2013 13:55

I'm obsessed and have read about it constantly but am stopping now because all it does is worry me and add pressure.

B1985 · 21/08/2013 13:59

@VJones due 12th September (but not 100% as cycle all over place since m/c 6 months ago)...seems so far away! i'd take 3rd Sept over 12th! Last month AF was 17days late!

@Karmalaa aww lol tell me about it, we haven't told anyone we ttc either but really want to talk about it share my fears excitement etc! Researching is good but dont over do it.. i do that and Dr said that could be messing my cycles up to as its stressful and should be a chilled enjoyable time! (easier said than done)

VJONES1985 · 21/08/2013 14:01

B - this is my first month off the pill so anything could happen yet! I think I ov yesterday though so will go by that.

jaykay987 · 21/08/2013 14:02

Me too - seems unnatural to not talk about something that is on my mind 24/7!Grin

I'm coming up to fertile time....Im currently testing with CB advanced every day, but want this to be the last month as they are expensive. I like them though, as they are super clear. So I've decided to double up this month and also use Internet cheapies. I'm hoping that'll help me interpret the ICs easier, so Im comfortable using them and next month.

I've started Slimming World to encourage me to up my fruit and veg intake (it certainly wouldn't hurt me to lose some weight to help with ttc anyway. Plus I always planned on following Slimming World (if I ever) was pregnant. It makes me eat healthily which must be good for a baby. So Im just starting early (with the bonus of losing 4.5lbs last week Grin)

I'm drinking a small glass of grapefruit juice every morning and taking Angus Castus up to Ov.
I plan on drinking pineapple juice and a few Brazil nuts after ov to help get a sticky bean Grin

I'm also taking pregnacare for my vist and folic acid.
I've been temping for two months as well.
AND I've got that fertile photo saved - in case I want a stroke every couple of days Grin

Hmm.....think that's enough for now! Grin. I think all bases are covered!

I'm feeling super positive at the moment - fingers crossed this continues! (I'm only on cd10 - usually ov around cd17)

B1985 · 21/08/2013 14:03

exactly Vjones! Dr said that to me and i so believe it! After m/c periods somewhat came back normal 29, 30, 32, 36 cycle length but then when we decided ttc again and i started researching and filling head, getting excited scared and stressed my AF was so late resulting in a 50day cycle!
I asked how do i work out when i ovulate and she said dont try it gets to stressful that way....lol dotn trust my body/cycle so trying as much as we can...hoping thats the answer! lol

B1985 · 21/08/2013 14:05

Fingers crossed for you jay! You sound v positive and chilled! i need to take a leaf outta your book!!

jaykay987 · 21/08/2013 14:07

Haha. Positive? maybe. Chilled? with that long list of preps, I don't think so! Grin

Temping can help you spot when you ovulate. Though temping is stressful for some people, so I wouldn't recommend. It actually calms me as I can see a pattern and I know I don't have to think too hard about it.

VJONES1985 · 21/08/2013 14:10

B - I'm using opks to help me work out ovulation but also had physical signs (ewcm, sore boobs, feeling hot). That's enough for me though, don't wanna keep reading up about things.

KedenTTC1Cycle2 · 21/08/2013 14:12

Hello All...May I join? I am an MN Newbie as well.

TTC #1; Cycle #2; AF was on Aug 15th; Next fertile period is from Aug 22 - 26; hoping for a BFP sometime the week of Sep 9th

Karmalaa I started my TTC-prep at the beginning of the year (a bit eager I know!), but only actually started TTC in July. TTC-prep has been;

  • Started Folic Acid (800mg) in January
  • Started exercising (joined a gym) 3x a week
  • Started meal planning so I could generally eat healthier
  • Started charting my fertility (app on my phone, did basal temperature for a bit, but quit as I found it to be too much fuss)
  • Started prenatal vitamins in July

Good luck to everyone. Hoping to see lots of BFP stories in a while Grin

KedenTTC1Cycle2 · 21/08/2013 14:13

Oh forgot to add that I went off the pill in January as well.

Practiced Natural Family Planning to avoid getting pregnany until July.
