penguin can you afford to go for a private scan? My mate said she paid about £100 but was well worth it

NoMaybeAboutIt · 11/08/2013 20:10

I feel your pain Pen I had the exact same thing, and the IVF drugs made it worse but i think it's settled down a bit now. Apart from when I wear fitting clothes. I think I read somewhere that you can dissolve some bicarbonate of soda in some warm water and that can help. It will pass though. I think doctors are very reluctant to give you anything, especially in the first trimester.

Kitty we're going to get a few private scans too. For peace of mind, it's so worth it Smile

Biscuitsandtea · 11/08/2013 20:28

We paid £75 for ours Pen (and it was the best money we spent!). Having had a miscarriage though with my first pregnancy i was ridiculously anxious about everything!

BeedlesPineNeedles · 12/08/2013 09:33

cups I totally agree with the not testing on a day when you have to work. My OTD was a Thursday which was why I tested the sunday before. Though as I had already started and finished bleeding by the time OTD came around the negative didn't come as much of a shock and I was fine to go to work afterwards.

Can't believe I missed geek what can we lure her out with next time?

penguin and maybe hope you both feel better soon

I just spoke to my clinic. I thought that they would work out when I need to start DRing, based on the date of my latest AF (I think it will be this month) and then they would just send me the rest of the details. But no, the dr hasn't even decided my treatment yet, so I need to ring back at teh end of the week.
I requested a meeting with the dr too, as I think we should have some kind of failed cycle review (a shocking idea I know!) But they said that if they counldn't find a time soon it might delay the treatment Shock Finally we agreed that I didn't mind starting the DRing before seeing teh doc, so hopefully they can amange to find a time with the doc before I need to start stimming

NoMaybeAboutIt · 12/08/2013 10:06

Oh Beedle what a mission! I hope you can start DR very soon and that nothing gets delayed

ScarlettInSpace · 12/08/2013 10:14

Morning all, just checking in so you don't drop off my Threads List lol

Good luck tomorrow maybe and cups am brooking like billio for your pee stick to be a fully working non-faulty positive one!

waves at geek too, she is worse than me these days!

beedles matey here's to a more successful round of treatment this time, think of the first go as diagnostic so they can really tailor this one to you personally...

kitty hope you're ready to trailblaze on IUI and prove it DOES work! Oh and check again re funding, I was expressly told by the nurse that if they abandon due to over or under stim then it doesn't count, just like IVF, unless they get to the actual IUI/EC procedure then its not classed as a full cycle so you keep funding.

Hello to everyone else!

Need some brooking myself ladies, I've just written to the NHS Trust to see if they will review our IVF funding and let us repeat a cycle FOC. I found the letter from my consultant to my GP saying we had agreed minimal stim IVF for the last go [which was our single funded full cycle, the first one doesn't count because it was cancelled] - when we went to the nurses info session the nurse changed it to maximum stim as she thought that was best. I don't know if you guys will remember but when all the eggs fertilised abnormally I did some research and max stims has been linked to abnormal eggs.... So I've written to them and asked if we can have the actual treatment that we agreed with the consultant rather than the one the nurse interfered in. Not holding my breath but sod it what have I got to lose? Vegas or Bust lol Grin

Happy Monday everyone!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 12/08/2013 10:19

Good for you Scarlett! I'm keeping everything crossed that you get another cycle. I know lots of people have had success with lower doses.

ScarlettInSpace · 12/08/2013 16:07

Well y'know, if ya don't ask, ya don't get Grin

Not expecting a jot from it, but at least I know I've tried...

NoMaybeAboutIt · 12/08/2013 16:09

Well I'm brooking that it will come good lovely Scarlett, if not, I'll be after them....

Solars · 12/08/2013 16:19

Good thinking Scarlett I'm brooking for you too!

Beedle let's hope you have plan in place by the end of the week.

Hope af hasn't turned up today Nurse

Kitty well done you for survive the baby shower!

Brooking like mad for Wednesday Cups

nearlyanurse · 12/08/2013 17:28

Hello hello, well af rocked up as expected yesterday so (in the style of a "dragon"), I'm out for this month. Was a quick wee 29 dayer, which I can live with - so much better than 40-42 days, which have been casually driving me crazy with their random appearance every few months.

Had a bit of a mental weekend with family illness, but been thinking about y'all. Hope everyone is doing ok!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 12/08/2013 17:31

Oh no Nurse, is everything ok?x

musicalmrs · 12/08/2013 19:33

Sorry to hear about AF Nurse. Hope things are ok.

Penguin, I would echo the early scan advice. I had two on the NHS due to ridiculous amounts of bleeding (in hindsight, I think AF continued to some degree for a couple of months into being PG). It took a lot of fighting for, and we'd agreed to go private if we couldn't convince the NHS peoples.

Cups, brooking like mad for Wednesday!

Beedle, all sounds a bit useless re your Dr. Hope it all gets sorted soon, and that you can start DRing soon.

Scarlett, good for you! Hope they get back to you soon Smile

Hope all the graduate brookers are doing well!

I've been brooking from afar (reading but not finding time to post! ). Having carpets replaced across our house this wk so everything's in a state of madness. However, it was something on our to-do-before-TTCing list.. so that's one more thing off that Wink

Have finally gotten round to changing doctors. Discussed lack of AF with the nurse today and she thinks it's the pill I'm on! Hurrah! A tad worried about how long it'll take them to come back when I come off it, but we'll cross that bridge later...

nearlyanurse · 12/08/2013 21:31

All ok maybs, just a bit of drama. It's never dull in the nurse household. On the upside, I haven't had a single minute spare to be bothered about my lack of pregger-ness. Every cloud...

NoMaybeAboutIt · 12/08/2013 21:41

Oh you poor thing. I hope things get better soon lovely Nurse x

ThedementedPenguin · 12/08/2013 22:13

nurse that sucks but lets just keep thinking this will be the last month. You will be living with mrN so plenty of chances to make a beautiful baby.

musical I was on cerazette before and had no AFs. When I came off it my period returned normally and had one 27 days later. So you might just be lucky enough.

Biscuitsandtea · 13/08/2013 09:10

Good luck Maybe! Brooking for you! What time are you up? xxxxx

NoMaybeAboutIt · 13/08/2013 09:35

Thanks lovely Biscuits. 12pm xxx

musicalmrs · 13/08/2013 10:35

Eeeek Maybe missed you out of my last post! Brooking lots for you.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 13/08/2013 10:37

Thanks Musical!

BeedlesPineNeedles · 13/08/2013 11:18

Good luck maybe

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 13/08/2013 14:23

Any news yet Maybe? X

I've been having brown sludge discharge all day and some pink spotting so I'm expecting AF. Don't think I'm going to make it to test day. I can have this type of spotting a day or two before AF so my heads all over the place Sad

ScarlettInSpace · 13/08/2013 14:39

Oh cups hang on in there love xx I know how shitty it is mate, when I did that last IUI my AF turned up after 10 days, I mean TEN DAYS FFS, I got nowhere friggin near a test date Angry I have everything crossed its just your body fukkin wi'cha

Bad day for me too, I just had a v close announcement, knocked me for 6 really been upset all day [well I'm pleased for them but y'know after 2.5 years I'm losing the will to live...]

I need wine. and pizza. Why oh why do Alcohol & carbs always seem like the answer?

BeedlesPineNeedles · 13/08/2013 14:40

Oh cups I really really hope its nothing, just your embryo getting comfy. The fear of AF coming before OTD was my reasoning for testing early (that and not wanting to test on a work day). i wish there was something I could say to make you feel better, but I'll just keep everything crossed for you ((hugs))

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 13/08/2013 15:28

Thanks Beedle and Scarlett, I've been trying to keep positive but it's getting redder every time I go to the toilet so it's getter harder to hope its a positive sign. I feel so numb, I feel so unlucky you know? Like I'm stupid for ever having any hope that this might happen for me Confused
