Roll up, roll up for the best discussions of ewcm, opk, ic and double dying you'll ever have. Probably.

The smallprint - Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 3+months, NO instadiffers, must have a special pot) and def no mention of baby dust or baby dancing UGH !!! Ooh we are strict...please note your house may be at risk if you do not keep up repayments lol

Elderberry brides, eh? If they do a line in prom dresses too,
I might get one so that I can slob about on the elderberry furniture in style. (Rather than dancing about naked when no one is around...haven't done that for a long time!)

Hi Pixie my experience was pretty standard I think. Went to the gp after ttc 1 year (which was Dec 2012), had blood tests, swabs and internal examination, DP had SA. Referral to fc was in Feb once all the test results were back. Initial appointment at FC was in April, booked in for HSG and internal scan. HSG was a horrible experience in my case and ended up admitted to hospital and on morphine but only because I had an allergic reaction to the dye. The actual procedure itself was fine, as was the scan. Back to the FC in June and put on Clomid for 6 months. Consultant was useless but in our authority you need to take 6 months of clomid before the assisted conception unit will see you so it's just another hoop to jump through. By the time we've tried 6 months it'll be 2 years since we started ttc so we'll fit all the criteria for referal to the assisted conception unit in December.

CD25 here but so frustrating to not know this cycle how many dpo!!! Don't think clomid made Ov sooner so earliest I might have Ov'd is 19, typically 22. No pimping for me unless AF hasn't shown by cd32.... Another 7 days to wait unless AF shows earlier. I HATE the waiting and the trying-to-stay-positive-but-not-wanting-to-get-hopes-up-and-then-come-crashing-down. Angry

barkingtreefrog · 07/08/2013 17:25

x post boodle that's awful!!
Having removed new mum from my fb feed I got a message from a mutual friend (who knows we're trying) saying 'isn't [new baby] cute?!' Hmph.

SidneyBristow · 07/08/2013 17:43

grr to the insensitive idiots out there. they are legion Biscuit

Boodle that comment is the worst I've heard recently though; too bad you're too ladylike that she was also an odd one out in that she was the only ugly one in the group Wink

Totally frivolous question....what does one wear to a FC consultation? I'd like to strike a balance between "I'm so pitiful, please help me" and "I'm a grown woman and would like my concerns taken seriously, but I'm also very approachable and someone you might like to be friends with, if only you didn't have a speculum up my ladybits"

Actually realized the other day that if I do have a HyCoSy, it'll be the first time I've ever had a pelvic-type exam done by a man. Though I hear usually there's a room full of people during it, and presumably some will be women. Silly me, I had always thought only one man would be involved in getting me pregnant Hmm

Boomgoestheweasel · 07/08/2013 18:08

Boodle they'd have got a right sausage-slap in the chops from me! Do people just not THINK? Fingers crossed AF stays away for you.

Aquarius sorry you got caught in preggo crossfire Sad

Pixie excellent name although might not give her much luck if she's intending on a honeymoon updiffment!

CatsCantFlyFast · 07/08/2013 18:34

Sid I recommend wearing a skirt to any appointment that may involve a speculum/stirrups. That way you get to keep a bit of your dignity and can whip your knickers on and off easily without standing naked from the waist generally while a doctor continues a conversation with you!

Boomgoestheweasel · 07/08/2013 18:42

^^excellent advice! A wee scrap of scratchy paper doesn't preserve a lot of dignity!

SidneyBristow · 07/08/2013 19:36

standing, naked from the waist??

Bunnygirlie · 07/08/2013 19:37

kuma oh dear Sad

Hey pixie welcome to Berry HQ, I see you have bought your own stool! And boo to the younger SIL having a baby grrrrr

I guess i'm the most recent Berry to get their referral - I've had the day 3 and day21 bloods done and DH has had sperm test after a year, just had FC appointment through for mid sept YAY! it was 2-3 weeks till I got my referral letter, DH had to have another blood test and then we got an appointment through with 7 weeks to wait!

boodle FX for a longer LP and grrrrr to insensitive comments

Grrrrrrrr for you too aquarius

My friend recently used the phrase 'maybe when you're a mother you will understand' I nearly lunched her!

CatsCantFlyFast · 07/08/2013 19:39

Yup sid, quite often people around setting up or asking questions while you get undressed (standing up) and afterwards while you get dressed (standing up). In the middle you will be laid down, in which case a skirt helps again for slight coverage

CatsCantFlyFast · 07/08/2013 19:39

I did laugh at your outrage at the thought of standing Grin

SidneyBristow · 07/08/2013 20:06

Haha yesi am properly scandalized! Wink at my gyn's in the US, you got undressed by yourself, then my gun would come in with her nurse and we'd all chat about our lives til the exam itself was over, then they'd leave and I'd get dressed, the she'd come back in for a final few words and that would be it., things are much more to the point here.

Actually now I think about it, the cervical swab I had last month, the nurse kept asking me questions about DH's ex and her reaction to our marriage - totally bizarre and not a convo I ever expected, much less one while I was half naked. I think she was intrigued bc her ex husband had recently done something horrible and she wanted to commiserate. Still, better than the bitchy comment I got during a smear test earlier in the year.

So a skirt it is, then! Not a fan of standing around with my ass hanging out! even though it is spectacular Grin

BlindKitty · 07/08/2013 20:31

boodle your colleague is a twat! Nuff said!

pixie come on in, you'll fit in nicely! We were ttc for 1 ye before our fc referral. Afraid to say that until now not much has happened other than trying completely pointless clomid. So afer 25 months of ttc not that im counting just about to start iui followed by ivf if that fails.

So today I felt a bit sick at the gym so naively drove home instead of work to poas... and of course the usual result! Hurry up af so I can start my iui!!!!

barkingtreefrog · 07/08/2013 20:51

Why do we do this to ourselves kitty Sad . Sorry for the bfn but yeay for starting the iui Grin .

I've never had to stand naked! For both the hsg and the dildocam I got changed in a separate room and was given a gown or paper (to wrap round me like a skirt) to protect my dignity until I had my feet up on the stirrups and all dignity was gone.

BlindKitty · 07/08/2013 21:18

barking know I've told to this before but the worst bit about the Hsg was the radiographer putting a sanitary towel 'there' and letting me waddle off back to the changing room (down a corridor), baring in mind I had no knickers on so nothing to hold it in place!

Bunnygirlie · 07/08/2013 21:29

kitty your waddling story makes me chuckle every time - sorry!

Thanks for the skirt tip! Might need that later this year.

So... Whassup peeps?

Boomgoestheweasel · 07/08/2013 22:03

Evenin' all

Anyone want to write this flipping essay for me? Last one though Grin

Last time I went for a scan I got given two gowns in the changing room, told to put one on the right way round (arse out) and the other on the wrong way round like a dressing gown. Which I thought was very thoughtful of them until I got to the hycosy room/frankenstein's lab, where the support worker immediately peeled me out of the dressing gown layer and got me on a chest-height bed in stirrups with my whoopsie facing the door, just in time for the radiographer to walk in and show my bits to the corridor. Joy of joys!

Boodle9 · 07/08/2013 22:07

I've had to do the 'pants back on' in front of the medical peeps thing. I was really disconcerted after my HSG as they were looking at me as I tried to put my pants on under the hospital gown. I almost asked whether I was supposed to be!

No spotting today still and it's 9 dpo! Usually it's well on the way to AF so I'm most pleased.

Now off to watch the last leg (and wave at the friend of a certain berry)!

Pipbin · 07/08/2013 22:32

creaking noise from the corner by the fire place. A wizened old berry in a rocking chair looks up

Welcome young Pixie we all hope you won't be here too long.
Chances are what ever procedure you need to have done a berry has done it before.

Looks like I'm going to have egg collection on Monday. That means they will transfer either 3 or 5 days after that. Then I will be 'pregnant until proven otherwise' as they say on the IVF forums.

Boodle9 · 07/08/2013 22:36

Wow, Pip! Pupo status is imminent!

SidneyBristow · 07/08/2013 22:40

woo hoo pip, so so very exciting!! How're you feeling about it all?

Bunnygirlie · 07/08/2013 22:47

Oh pip keeping everything crossed for you Hun x

CharmingCats · 07/08/2013 23:09

Yay pip ! Pupo here you come!
Welcome pixie , you've come to the right place for info. I'm another pcos-er. I gave up on my GP after the 'just relax' conversation. I was having a cycle of 107 days.... We've been ttc for 14 months and went to an fc in June, just before the year mark. Decided to go for a couples fertility mot package at a local clinic. Just taking metformin now, which is cheap. Would have to think again if we end up needing IVF.
I've had the gown experience and the standing with a piece of paper to cover me while they watch you change. Skirt is a very good idea.
