Oh, sorry everyone, I only come on mumsnet when I'm at work (because I'm a crap employee). I didn't realise anyone would be interested!

Anyway, did the clearblue digi when got home from work last night, and... I'm pregnant! 1-2 weeks. Am in considerable shock and disbelief. We only even DTD once in the last 2 weeks! Thought it was too late. I mean, 2 weeks ago was CD23. Digital tests are brilliant! Honestly, even with AF being 5 days late now the second line on the normal tests was almost imaginary. It was hard to tell if it was a shadow or an indent from a fingernail or nothing atall, and you could only see it in certain lights if you really concentrated.

DH is over the moon. I'm still in shock.

congratulations fox Thanks x

FoxMulder · 07/06/2013 08:34

Thanks gilly Smile I'm trying not to get too excited because it's such early days, although obviously that is not working.

Oh, and good luck everyone. Hopefully my tale of BFN so late on will keep some hopes up.

DisneyDiva87 · 07/06/2013 08:38

It certainly will fox, congratulations!!!Thanks If AF shows i'll have a Winefor you.

gillywillywoo · 07/06/2013 09:05

Quick question.. Do you ladies still drink when TTC and during the 2ww??

I rarely drink alcohol at all (I only had 1 glass of champagne on my wedding day and I think that was the last time I had alcohol which was 6 months ago)

Going out with some old school friends in London tonight and they are up for a meal and cocktails... I actually feel like I want a couple of cocktails... Is that ok?! Am I allowed?!! Lol Grin

FoxMulder · 07/06/2013 09:08

Oh thanks everybody, you're all so lovely.

My second top tip: have sex in the kitchen Blush

Disney I'll hold you to that Smile I mournfully removed all my booze from the fridge last night (note: not an alcoholic, just had a couple of champagnes left over from b-day. And two mini wines. And a cider.)

lindamagoo · 07/06/2013 09:17

Awww congrats fox Thanks that's fantastic news Smile

I got a bfn this morning but don't even know why I'm testing already as af isn't due until at least the middle of next week, I'm just a poas addict Smile

FoxMulder · 07/06/2013 09:22

I think I might have just accidentally answered your question there gilly I've heard a few times that it can't affect the potential embryo at that stage because it's not sharing your blood supply. Someone tell me that's true! (And if so, how does taking folic acid etc therefore benefit?)

I shared a bottle of cava with DH on my b-day a week ago after POAS that morning and getting a BFN and assuming it would have shown up by then if there was anything to show up...

FloJo151 · 07/06/2013 09:29

congratulations to all the bfp's Smile
think im out as getting definite af symptoms. pretty sure we didn't dtd enough anyway as I took the kids away with my mum for 1/2 term and pretty sure that's when I ovulated (af type cramps and sore boobs for a day or 2)
if I did ovulate then it means that my luteal phase is only about 10 days. is it B6 that is supposed to lengthen it? can you just buy b6 vitamins over the counter?

DisneyDiva87 · 07/06/2013 09:30

It should be ok so long as you don't over do it Gilly space each cocktail with a non-alcoholic drink in between. I don't drink a lot either but I do enjoy a wee rum every now and then and I'm not gonna change that till I get my bfp I could spend the next 6 months refusing myself things I enjoy otherwise.

The embryo does have a separate blood supply at first but it runs along side the mothers so stuff can diffuse from mothers blood to embryo

ImaginaryHat · 07/06/2013 09:47

Yeah I still have a little drink, am not a big drinker either but I sometimes have a cider or glass of wine on a Friday eve. Going out all day tomorrow with friends so will probably have a couple of drinks, but as Disney says will alternate between alcohol and soft drinks (which isn't unusual for me anyway so nobody would be suspicious!), and not over do it. Enjoy your cocktails, you never know they may be the last you can have for a long time!

Vikkijayne2507 · 07/06/2013 10:37

I doubt I can join in the June bus but I would like hang onto the back of it as just came off the pill and dtd every few days all very knew, I have lemon cake :)

Ninunina · 07/06/2013 10:45

Congratulations fox! Grin Grin Grin Grin
It gives me hope that you got a few bfn before your bfp too! I told myself I wouldn't test again before AF is due next week. .. but I caved. I woke up this morning thinking I should probably check since we have a wedding tonight and I'd love a couple of glasses of champagne. I'm annoyed though cos I got a bfp on 9dpo with DD and I'm now 10dpo and still bfn. I just wish I could explain this mild nausea feeling that is with me all the time.

Pixie001 · 07/06/2013 10:46

Yay fox! Congrats Flowers Wishing you and bean a happy and healthy 9 mths, hope goes smoothly for you.

I have an odd drink now and again too. It's our wedding anniversary this wknd and I'm sure we'll have a cheeky few whilst we're away by the seaside...thank god it's sunny this wknd!

flo I take b6 - you can get from health shops etc. think it's helped with settling down my cycle but has taken a few mths to do so, not instant thing.

Pixie001 · 07/06/2013 10:56

Don't give up hope yet you early poas-ers, it's not over til the witch arrives so they say. And 9/10 dpo is really early so it may still happen for you yet. Bum, am I still only 3dpo? I have about 12 day lp so 9 days to go

Looooove lemon cake thanks vikki

lindamagoo · 07/06/2013 12:11

Wish this viral infection would hurry up and leave me alone, feeling very sorry for myself Hmm Got so much on over the next 2 weeks so it better clear soon Hmm

ImaginaryHat · 07/06/2013 13:14

Aw have a lovely anniversary Pixie, gorgeous weekend for it! Hope you feel better soon Londa Flowers

C999875 · 07/06/2013 13:19

Congratulations Fox! I wont be joining this month though as A.F has arrived so in the words of dragons den "I'm out". Made me more determand to get my B.F.P in July, but I can be as determand as I want but I can't do anymore that the obvious!. xxx

Captainmcgraw · 07/06/2013 14:23

Congrats Fox! Pretty sure I'm on way out, cramping and pmt signs bad now, and slight signs of spotting starting. Damn this 7day spotting before AF. I always know it means AF on way but still hold on to vague hope that I'm pregnant but still spotting anyway. In any case going to London tonight to visit friends, much needed distraction and night away from DD which means a lie in! Hoping to see more BFPs when I sign back on tomorrow. Good luck all.

DisneyDiva87 · 07/06/2013 15:10

I have another question.

I know sore/tender boobs are a sign of impending red tide of doom but has anyone had their boobs look bigger/different before af? I don't know if it's just the top I'm wearing but every time I go to the bathroom I keep having a double take at my reflection in the mirror cause my boobs look bigger (maybe it's just the tan...)

Monstamio · 07/06/2013 15:25

So due to a very mixed up cycle last month it turns out that I'm not actually eligible for the June bus as BFP now due 2nd July. Off to join that one. Will continue to lurk here though - Lots of luck to everyone and congrats to those who've had BFPs already!

DisneyDiva87 · 07/06/2013 15:35

Huh, our bus not good enough for you Monstamio?

Wink

I'm just pretending to be tough, I'm so rubbish I can't even keep it up for 1 post.
