Oh 4ever one stress after another, so wish you had it a little easier. But your body isn't failing you, it's taking good care of that precious little man & he'll be just fine. As you say, thank goodness you know in advance. Thinking of you loads x x x

Neeko · 08/06/2013 17:42

huge hug 4ever but so much better that you know

CloudOfStarlings · 09/06/2013 21:38

Sorry I posted v briefly yesterday as my parents were literally arriving, but also wanted to say 4ever I remember all the worries with your dd's cord and it was such a stress for you but look at her now! I know you've really not had an easy time in any pregnancies but you're on the home stretch now, keep hanging on, keep smiling, good things are coming!

moon where are you lovely? Hope you're ok.

sabs have you made a decision now on CS or VB? Hope you're feeling ok about the whole birth thing! So excited to hear your news!

neeko fab about the weight well done you! I just can't shift the last 4lbs.. Grr.. ok it's probably to do with eating lots of birthday cake the last few weeks Grin

barbie 8 stone! EnvyEnvy how tall are you, out of interest? Massive well done though.. loads of my friends are doing the 5:2 diet & rave about it.

Do we have any more updates on shroom? Been thinking of you loads, if you're lurking.. I have another friend 16w pregnant with prematurely ruptured membranes so have been praying for you both and for those tiny little ones x x x

CloudOfStarlings · 09/06/2013 21:39

Oh Cloud that's so exciting. Congratulations Grin Smile Grin

SabsFabulous · 10/06/2013 17:50

Hello ladies, hope you're all well.

clouds Congrats on the move! Hope it all goes well. Are you moving far from where you currently are? More than a year later, we still have loads to do in our place Blush Also, I am so sorry that I forgot to text you on DS's birthday Blush Even though I'm on maternity leave, there never seems to be enough hours in the day to get everything done! Sounds like you all had a fab time Smile

4ever sorry to hear about the stress that you're going through Sad I have everything crossed that all will be OK, but as the others have said, it's good that they know about it now and have a plan of action in place. Hope you're feeling better and not weebling too much.

Neeko Well done on the weight loss. Have you told the girls about the Florida trip yet? I'm so excited for you Grin I went when I was 17 years old and loved it! I enjoyed Universal Studios the best and hopefully can go back in a few years time to see Harry Potter World Smile

Barbie another one who's doing well on the weight loss train. Would have been nice to have a catch-up when you're in London. Let us know if you happen to be free. Best of luck with the move!

LBM Are you doing the 5:2 diet too? QUite a few people are doing it at work. I might do it too after baby is born. Will have to ask you for tips Smile

Moon How many weeks are you now? Hope you're doing OK and the vultures on the other thread hasn't scared you away from our safe haven of a greenhouse. I can't believe you've been married a year! I hope you had a fab time however you celebrated x

Shroom I hope you're back home and feeling a bit better. Sending Flowers to you.

Curly so lovely to see you back Smile Hope your beautiful DC's are well. Would love to see a recent photo.

Rumours Not sure who that photo went to Confused. I'll send you an email instead and will check your number.

Waves to Blue Buddha Mermaid* louey mls and our other lovely lurkers.

Well I finally finished packing the hospital bags yesterday. I'm 38 weeks now so I don't think I could've put it off any longer! I received a letter from the hospital last week saying that they think I may have gestational diabetes so I need to take the glucose tolerance test, which means that from 9pm this evening I can't have any food or drink, which includes water, which isn't good when one of my cravings is sparkling water with lemon slices [sob!] Will be in the hospital for most of the morning tomorrow, and then the growth scan is on Wednesday morning along with the consultant appointment and we should have the results of the GTT back by then, so with all those factors combined, hopefully we can come to some sort of decision about what to do next! I'll send someone a message if that's OK in case I can't update the thread.

Will be back soon

SabsFabulous · 10/06/2013 17:53

Cloud Wow, the cake looks amazing!!

CloudOfStarlings · 10/06/2013 19:22

Thanks sabs :) it took ages but was well worth it, he absolutely loved it! And don't be silly about texting! I certainly don't remember every littly's birthday on here!
Poor you with the GD and so late in the day too! Bit of a stress.. hope all appointments scans etc go well & you come to a decision youre happy and comfortable with.
we're only moving about 15 mins drive away but puts us in the catchment for the local catholic school we want the boys to go to :) v exciting buying our first place though! can't believe you've been in yours a year!

4everhopeful · 10/06/2013 19:42

Thanks cloud neeko sabs... Ive been trying to be positive on the most part, forums on here have helped, but got official letter today, and rather scary leaflet which made me very down about it all again, just gone against so many odds already, praying so hard my little boy will be ok & unaffected, alternatives just don't bear thinking about so trying v hard not too.. Confused See my midwife tomorrow but its diabetes one so not sure how much advise she'll be able to give, not seeing consultant for 2 wks though might try & bring it forward..

Sabs so Shock they have left it til now for your GDD test! Do hope all goes well and you decide on best birth plan for you... well done on finishing your bag packing! Pushing it girl!

Cloud congrats on your first home and good luck with thw move! Meant to also say what a brilliant cake and how fab cbeebies showed his card! Out of interest when did you send it in to them?

Moon & Shroom check in ladies! Hope alls well? x

Sabs we've been in our house nearly 5 years and still have loads to do! Blush Grin Ah well, kids just mark freshly painted walls anyway Wink Hope all the testing goes well. Remember the process of birth is less important than the end result. I was just thinking of your hair-cutting tradition earlier. I wonder if the baby will have more than S did.
Told the girls about holiday a few weeks ago. They are both very excited but find it difficult to imagine We're only doing Disney, but never say never to going back.

Cloud so pleased for you with the house. Just think, that will be where you'll finish your first novel! Smile

4ever Try not to stress too much. The most important thing is that they know in advance and can deal with it. It's not ideal by a long shot, but your wee boy is a fighter through and through and will be fine. Here, have a hug xx

Are any of our pregnant ladies ready to share possible names? Smile

SabsFabulous · 11/06/2013 16:34

Cloud buying your own place is very exciting indeed! Will the boys be sharing or having their own rooms?

4ever hope your appointment went well today and that you were able to change your consultant appointment. Re my GTT, they've been checking my blood sugar levels at every appointment but this is the first time that it showed up as high. Had the test today and treated myself to a nice lunch at the end! Should get the results at tomorrow's appointment.

Neeko you'll have to send us some photos of the girls when they meet Mickey and co Smile

Sweet of you to remember the traditions and rituals we have. Will have to go through it all over again which includes moving into my mums though I don't think it will be for as long this time round.

Saara had a lot of hair when she was born but I never got heartburn with her whereas I have been getting it this time round, so who knows!

Names have been decided but are a secret, sorry Grin

4everhopeful · 11/06/2013 19:52

Glad test went ok sabs, fingers xd you get the all clear... Biggie for you tomorrow eh? Last apts, exciting eh? Best of luck with it all.. Hopefully scan will reveal a nice average size bubs & you'll get your VBAC, presuming that's what you want of course! Smile Next time you see littlun after that he'll be in your arms... Smile Another one here really interested in all your traditions, funny about the heartburn theories, had it v bad with Summer and did = lots of hair, but not so much this time, Gaviscon virtually untouched! Wink We shall see!

Neeko we have our names decided too, Smile and many of you probably remember/know, however we have to leave something to announce on the day other than weight & length! Wink

Apt today went really well, bless DH turning up unexpectedly and so gratefully as waited an hr and had a v hyper Summer on my hands! However diabetes midwife is lovely, saw I was a state about the GBS diagnosis & went & got my consultant in to chat to us, how brilliant! I love my hospital Smile she was v reassuring, that the risk is v minimal so long as I have my IV antibiotic for 4hrs in labour, & worst way, if not, baby will be given them too, but also that baby will be closely monitored for any signs & their paediatric drs have a rigid protocol for dealing with this, so all I can do now is try & be calm & stay positive, obviously not ideal, but we shall deal with it... Apart from that all else looking good, measuring well, hb good, and they are really happy with the way I'm managing the gestational diabetes, so much so that they say I can now alternate my daily testing! Smile Been having to test my blood sugar levels 4x a day, my poor fingers from all that pricking, a pain in more ways than one so v chuffed! Will see diabetes midwife again tied in with final consultant apt at 38w to discuss birth plan (involves hourly blood sugar monitoring during labour Confused) but great to now be planning all my final apts! Hurrah! Final scan on monday, final apt at thrombosis clinic next thurs (to learn how to inject
daily heparin injections for 6wks postnatally Confused) Then that's it! Not been an easy ride, but if please God willing we have a strong healthy son at the end of it, that is all that matters Smile
