Thanks (now hoping pepperami is damaged and unable to be used again for smacking, so I can eat it! Nom nom) :)

ILoveMyCats · 09/03/2013 17:34

Hello All, Thank you for your kind words, as always, this is a sanctuary. Where did the Elderberry Pavlova come from? And I second the suggestion for its reinstatement to the thread title.
barking, sounds like a living hell. I hate hen dos anyway, but having to share a room with a yummy mummy and listen to pg woes too? Could you have one or maybe two drinks? I'm not much of a drinker due to the antidepressants I used to take. What about the binge drinkers who get pg while pissed?!? Hmmmm.
I probably need to cut down on the sugar and start exercising. What would be a good exercise to do while ttc? Have read that vigorous exercise can be detrimental and could stop periods. Well, I've already managed that all by myself, so zumba couldn't hurt, could it?
Merkin I'm with you on the immaculate conception thing, but as the person with the low libido. I remember one of my mum's friends joking that she'd rather have a roast beef dinner than dtd! I often feel the same. There are so many other things I can think of doing and enjoying before I'd think of dtd. Maybe I'm the one with performance anxiety?

Cherry, I'm going to look into Vitex. The pot in Holland and Barrett wasn't helpful. Also read that you shouldn't take it after ov. And, I don't know when that was!
Going to apply for a job as an advisory teacher to the LA. Can't hurt. Just hate filling out forms.

ILoveMyCats · 09/03/2013 17:35

You're fitting right in, penny

Boodle9 · 09/03/2013 17:41

Go for it -pepperami's are devil food! Grin

On a serious note now, Mother - are you still lurking around out there somewhere?! Why isn't the progesterone cream working for me like it did for you - I've had spotting and it's just not faaaaaaaaaaaaair! I've made sure I'm using enough as I've read that small amounts can have a detrimental effect. Maybe my fat arse body still needs more than what I'm using.

Barking that hen do does not sound like it's going to be fun for you. Shareing a room with a pregnant woman? Shudder. Get into survival mode and change the subject of any child/baby talk to things like grown-up holidays, late night partying, lie-ins and delicious wines and cheeses. They might not be things you actually do/enjoy but it might wind them up a bit! Mua ha haaaa!

ILoveMyCats · 09/03/2013 17:47

yes, boodle, i'd do the same! Bring on the un-pasteurised cheese!

ILoveMyCats · 09/03/2013 17:48

hey! We've made it to the most active thread list.

Boodle9 · 09/03/2013 17:50

Cats, the elderberry pavlova thing came from the phrase elderly primigravida, which apparently is a woman who delivers her first baby over the age of 35. I believePip was around in the beginning (getting suitably biblical in honour of Pip's bedtime story) and might be able to tell you how it came about in a bit more detail!

Boodle9 · 09/03/2013 17:52

Can I add a little disclaimer?! My typing is all over the place today; I do know how to spell 'sharing'...honest! If it were just a completely bizarre typo, I wouldn't bother to defend it, but that one bothers me as it's 'close, but not quite'!

Bunnygirlie · 09/03/2013 17:58

merkin glad I wasn't the only one sulking! Damn you fertile peeps! Perhaps we should give those under 30 and TTC less that 6 months only partial membership to the berry club Wink

Bad penny lol

I'm a complete lightweight when it comes to booze, more so than ever at the moment. One glass of wine and that's about all I can handle. Seriously need some sausage sobering on the couple of nights a week I indulge! DH on the other hand drinks rather more than I am comfortable with. He's better than he used to be but far from teetotal. Hmm

Cats I've stopped running at the mo as I've heard it's not compatible with TTC. I walk a lot though, horse ride and do a dance class once a week - and, rarely practice in between times too. I think Zumba would be great. Surely DTD'ing counts too?! It MUST!!

Whenever I think of Elderberries I think of Elderberry wine... hic! Glad to have it explained thanks boodle i reeeally hate that term!

Itsalwaysraining · 09/03/2013 18:28

Frog, it sounds to me like you need a drink. Have one on me. Seriously, I don't think ttc should be a shackle - everything in moderation? Same with the sugar, Merkin; you sound slender and reasonably fit so I can't imagine your weight is going to be an issue. On the other hand, it could be said that if you are obese, lazy and drink a bottle of wine per night it's probably going to take much, much longer for you to get preggo. Yes, there are those morbidly obese birds who pop babies out all the time, but they are simply highly fertile. We, by the looks of it, are not.

Boodle, deja vu you say? Did you know me as Itsalwaysfuckingboilinghot? Wink

cherrycoconut · 09/03/2013 18:32

Totally with you raining infact one of the books I have that advises on all the holistic things you can do to get preggo says that often those that go nazzi style on the caffeine and booze are often the people who would benefit from a glass of wine here or there to help them relax and enjoy good company, or the occasional cup of coffee mid morning to get the system going. I'm all for moderation... this looks like it's going to be a sprint rather than a marathon!

Itsalwaysraining · 09/03/2013 18:34

You would have to be doing some serious exercise for it to affect your periods and hence fertility. I shouldn't worry about it; exercise which raises levels of cortisol is not advisable (anything making your heart hammer violently) as cortisol is very fertility-unfriendly. Excess sugar also fucks with cortisol, which is why I mentioned it previously.

CD6 over here, last Clomid pill and very, very bored (can you tell?)

[waves at Penny and advises Gilly to have no sex whatsoever during her fertile window] Wink

cherrycoconut · 09/03/2013 18:45

Cats I've found this link natural-fertility-info.com/vitex with some good info on dosage of Vitex. They recommend either:

Capsules: 900-1,000mg a day
Tincture: 60-90 drops a day

Right, I'm going for my bloods on Monday and then so gonna get me some of that :)

cherrycoconut · 09/03/2013 19:21

Argh, somebody please slap me, I should be making sticky toffee puddings, not surfing t'inter web for fertility advice right now. obsessed.com, this is not helping my mothers day prep!

gilly86 · 09/03/2013 19:36

Haha itsalwaysraining

Bunnygirlie · 09/03/2013 19:43

get ye to the kitchen lady!

barking That sounds horrible. I hate most hen dos, but have to say the last one I went to a year ago had a good outcome. I found a friend with exactly the same dislike of drinking and wearing penis shaped necklaces and she's Ben of of my best friends ever since.
On the note of alcohol, I get migraines if I so much as have more than a shot so despite adoring ginger wine, and making mead as a hobby, I can't drink a drop :-(

I'm sounding ridiculously boring now, a teetotal quilting mead brewing dog owner...

Itsalwaysraining · 09/03/2013 20:02

Don't worry Tally, I'm a teetotal, toilet roll-holder-crotcheting prostitute cat owner.

Itsalwaysraining · 09/03/2013 20:02

I love Ant & Dec, me.

twinklestar2 · 09/03/2013 20:05

I'm getting de ja vu too!

happylass · 09/03/2013 20:10

I think I may be getting déjà vu as well?!? Or I could be totally missing the point!

Itsalwaysraining · 09/03/2013 20:11
