Hahaha ok... SmileGrin

Hi Gilly, stupidly jealous of you over here having met someone you wanted to have babies with at age 26!! Yes please, I'll have some of your fertility magic, just as soon as I can hobble over to you, now where has my walker gone...

Got the letter in today for my ultrasound appt set for 2 weeks from today; they've scheduled an 'intravaginal ultrasound' instead of an abdominal one, with the caveat that if I can't/won't have the dildocam exam, then I'm welcome to the abdominal one, if I come in with a full bladder. Really dreading it.

It's set for the day before my iphone app tells me is the start of my March fertile window. If DH & I DTD the morning of the day before the exam, would they be able to tell? This is mortifying! I don't want it to wreck the whole cycle (will be the dreaded 9 by that point, sob). I guess I'd rather have it prior to ov than during, but good grief, of all the mood killers, I think having a stranger put a camera up my vag ranks right up there.

Merkin, I'll be POAS tomorrow morning; my ICs arrived & I figured what the hell. No symptoms & not feeling vomity anymore and am convinced it'll be a neg, but would be nice to know sooner rather than later.

MavisCruet176 · 09/03/2013 14:19

yay sid - I will also be poas tomorrow morning with an IC and also have no symptoms whatsoever - look forward to joint bfn commiserations!

Bunnygirlie · 09/03/2013 14:30

Hmmmmm the last young un we let in got pg far too quickly (cue bitterness from us old ladies(or was that just me)

P.s. if you are allowed to stay I would suggest for your own safety that you avoid the b word baby dust Confused

Sorry Sid but I snorted at "having a stranger put a camera up my vag"... I may be wrong but I thing during IVF you are instructed to have sex before the transfer as it makes your body more receptive to the transfer. Therefore i'm sure they're used to seeing some jizz up there. That will not make you feel better but i'd steel yourself (lie back and think of England??) and have every test possible, find out as much as you can. You may be Blush but it'll be over so fast and you will probably never see those people again! However I would ask if it's OK for you to have sex pre camera just in case....

I am so excited for the stick peeing. I prefer the knowing to not knowing on balance. If there is as much as a tiny evap shadow be sure to post so I can have a good stare at it!

NO BABY DUST FROM ME

CatsCantFlyFast · 09/03/2013 14:52

I am not going out again as I can't keep up!! On the drinking front I have been pretty blase on the basis that I read that pre implantation no bloods are shared (would obv stop immediately I got a BFP) and that for not drinking to take any effect on the rest of your cycle you need to stop for 4 months Shock I am considering it tbh
Bunny are you referring to the instadiffer? I sulked for ages over that!!
In other news had hoped my temps would go up again today so I felt more confident that I had O'd but no, instead I got a tiny drop (especially unheard of post big night out as normally they are super high and I have to disregard them so as not to confuse FF). Removed my manual override from fertility fucker and it has generously decided to give me solid crosshairs, but my coverline is very low (36.17) and temps since O have been a pathetic 36.28, 36.23 and 36.18. I am surprised FF is believing I O'd as I'm not convinced, sods law on the month we get the shagging right my body decides not to co-operate. I am obsessively searching FF for charts like mine with equally shitty post O temps and there aren't any Angry. I may go and pee on another few OPK's in case I haven't O'd yet and am waiting on a second surge. My coverline is normally 36.3 / 36.4 with post O temps above 36.6 so this month doesn't look good for me. Bollocks. I will therefore take all the freaking baby dust i can get Wink Grin sorry raining!

CatsCantFlyFast · 09/03/2013 14:53

Gilly you're going to fit in just fine! Glad to see you can take a bit of a joke/ribbing. Be glad you weren't wacked (*sp?) with a sausage!

Itsalwaysraining · 09/03/2013 15:28

Pip, the reason I wasn't offered HSG etc from the beginning is that I was pregnant last March (mmc). We all decided that it would be foolish to even contemplate examining my tubes seeing as I knew I could get preggo Hmm

Alcohol: don't do it. It is no good abstaining only for the 2ww - it doesn't work like that. In order to give the body its best chance of conceiving there is a need to quit (or drastically reduce) alcohol, caffeine and sugar. Alcohol is a huge no-no for anyone trying to conceive and this goes for partners, too. I reckon it is this that women struggle with the most but I also believe that is because today's thirtysomethings drink far too much [ducks a plethora of flying sausages]

twinklestar2 · 09/03/2013 15:40

I'm with you on the not drinking. I've cut back drastically and oh has been told by fertility clinic to stop drinking completely.

Boodle9 · 09/03/2013 15:41

Merkin, those are some very low temperatures. I thought mine were struggling a bit this month, but they've gone up a bit now.

I have been (probably inadvisedly) using progesterone cream, just to see what happens (this month was a write-off due to DH being away) and I've had quite a bit of spotting, so don't think it's doing the job for me.

Not long until this thread fills up again - can I put in a request for 'Pavlova' to come back into the title? It's such an excellent word!

SidneyBristow · 09/03/2013 15:42

Haha Merkin I'm not English, I'm American so lying back and thinking of England probably would do nothing. I already spend enough time wondering why people say "On a Monday" instead of "On Mondays" or how long it'll be before I get hit by a car, because I usually forget to look right and there are no visual cues from parked cars, since parking anywhere and everywhere is encouraged just to confuse spouse visa holders allowed.

About that instadiffer, so it was true? She got pg after one cycle? I thought that must've been a typo. It's really hard to not get crabby over things like that. It's not a zero sum game or anything but it gets depressing, wondering why it isn't happening. Between UK Mother's Day and this being cycle 8, my pity party has been in full swing for a couple of weeks now. Everything makes me cry. Hmm maybe thinking of England and the whole chin up, soldier on thing would help.

Mavis will look forward to our POAS-ing tomorrow x

CatsCantFlyFast · 09/03/2013 15:43

raining i have no need to throw sausages, I entirely agree! However I think reducing the sugar and gallons of tea that I drink will be impossible harder. I was born without a salad or vegetable liking gene in my body exaggerates and i don't like fruit juice or fizzy drinks. What an exciting life I am going to lead eating food I hate and drinking water!!!

Itsalwaysraining · 09/03/2013 15:45

Merkin, which cycle day are you on? What CD did you ovulate on last month?

CatsCantFlyFast · 09/03/2013 15:53

Perhaps you could think of peanut butter or meatloaf or jello instead (one of my bridesmaids is an American and I love the stories of how her gran used to serve savoury meals with jello Shock like jello and cottage cheese starter! I am not painting you 'all' with the same brush tho!)
It appears the instadiffer was true. Envy Angry Shock I won't even attempt to put into words my pissyness at her graduating when she'd been a berry barely a week. I am a bitch (blaming hormones). However she deserved it as had sex every day for more than a week. Which, in my mind does not qualify you to join us on the hunt for immaculate conception Grin Can we only admit people in future who fuck up like me have sex at the wrong times or have trouble with their OH in that department? It would make me feel much happier about myself!!!
Raining I am going to stop drinking for 6 months which may end in divorce as my OH gets sick of me being a PITA and boringly grumpy and sofa hugging but how much caffeine am I allowed? And how much is too much sugar? I freely admit I would barely know a carb from a protein (I have never needed to diet and have never watched my weight or read labels or particuarly cared tbh). Risk of outing myself here but I drink a lot of a certain energy drink too and that is v high in sugar. Along with eating a lot of cake/chocolate/really bad crisps that are shaped like certain things etc. Yes, if you know me you will have just recognised who I am as I am known for this...!

CatsCantFlyFast · 09/03/2013 15:56

Ha ha ha fertility fucker has 2 charts that are pregnancy, with a coverline and post) temps similar to mine. Guess that saves me having to pee on any sticks next week. Cheers kick in the face. Ah well, out for a family birthday celebration tonight so I am going to do the typical 30 something thing and get pissed (Wink at raining)

CatsCantFlyFast · 09/03/2013 16:01

I'm CD21. FF has O at CD18, same last month

barkingtreefrog · 09/03/2013 16:04

I stopped drinking totally when we decided to start ttc. That was December 2011. I've been tee total for 1 year 3 months now. Sober weddings, sober hen dos, sober new year and Christmas, designated driver for drunken friends and DP for OVER A YEAR and STILL no sodding baby. Since finding out about the problems caused by a short luteal cycle I've pretty much given up on being able to see a bfp until we get our appointment at the fertility clinic and get some help somehow. So there is a lot of me feeling right now that my life has been put on hold for over a year and there has been no positive outcome. I could remain off the alcohol for another year and still be no further forward. I eat well, exercise plenty and am a healthy weight. I am just getting so p155ed fed up of missing out on all the fun for no apparent benefit. I don't know anyone else who stopped drinking before getting pregnant and they all upduffed within a few months. I've been a social pariah for over a year and NOTHING.
It's the thought of this hen do coming up that has tipped me over the edge. My DP is best man at the wedding but these are not my close friends. They all drink heavily and I have spent the last year going out sober on all social occasions with no good reason. It doesn't help you make friends.
I'm going to shut up now as I'm rambling on without a point. I just want to go hometto be honest. Not coping well with sharing a hotel room with a woman with two kids, and listening to the pregnant woman winge about being pregnant. Ignore me, I'm off hiding in the toilets again :(.

CatsCantFlyFast · 09/03/2013 16:13

Barking I have not caught up. Why are you in a hotel room with a woman and two kids??

barkingtreefrog · 09/03/2013 16:37

Ha ha! That would be worse. I am at a hen do. These are all the girlfriends of DP's friends. I have not managed to worm my way very well into the social group given they go out partying until late while I nurse a coca cola in the pub then drive home to bed. The woman I am sharing a room with keeps talking about her two children. The other woman currently getting changed in our room is pregnant.

Penny31 · 09/03/2013 16:54

Hi everyone, newbie here!

I've been following the thread for a few weeks now and really addicted :) you all seem like a lovely bunch.

I'm 33 and ttc#1. I'm in the 2ww of my first cycle and already symptom spotting.....I know, I know! Slightly embarrassed that I've already poas too....my bfp or af should be due around the 16th. Convinced myself that tingly boobs are new for me and feeling ever so slightly nauseous at 3pm every day is of course because I'm one of the lucky ones and its happened straight away.

Someone talk some sense into me please!

Boodle9 · 09/03/2013 17:17

Hi Penny Smile - we don't tend to 'talking sense' into people...we tend to just go straight for physical violence! Wink If you would like someone to beat some sense into you with a sausage, I am sure there are several elderberries who would be happy to oblige (old, new and returning alike - cryptic Boodle has a sense of deja vu).

Penny31 · 09/03/2013 17:22

Beat away! I deserve it :)
