Good Evening Ladies!

What a lovely bunch of new Elderberries we have. Welcome one and all!

Boodle9 · 01/03/2013 20:49

Soph, I've mastered the art of wedging it firmly under my tongue!

Soph80 · 01/03/2013 20:58

Hi pipbin, yes this thread is very popular atm!! Must be all the cake and good company!

boodle this is my first month of doing it. I'm using the fertility friend ap, what are you using? X

Boodle9 · 01/03/2013 21:06

Yep - I'm a fertility friend user too. Have been using it for well over a year now and have found it easy enough to use. Don't pay for the fully comprehensive package though! Do you?

I must admit to doing silly things with my thermometer, like taking a really hot bath (not in the 2 (1 in my case) week wait of course) and then seeing what my temp is! Easily amused am I.

SidneyBristow · 01/03/2013 21:08

Hi cherry! Fx for AF to show up soon! Another temp-er I see...hmm maybe I will muster up the courage to try it out next month, if AF shows up at my house instead of yours.

Needing someone who knows about this sort of thing, bc I'm too scared to google it. I put on my big girl pants this afternoon & called for my CD3 FH/LSH blood test results. I wrote it down on a napkin, and while DH & his kids were watching a movie, my dog ate part of it. Conveniently the "F" and the "LH" bits are missing, so I know one was a 6, and the other a 4.

Both seem "good" accdg to the first random website I looked at, but have any of you had this panel done and remember your results? This could only happen on a Friday night. CD21 test is Mon morning so I can confirm the results then, but really would feel better if I knew these were good #s for my age (38).

Help?

ILoveMyCats · 01/03/2013 21:18

Evening all! Hello to new berries! I'm relatively new myself and look forward to a good natter.
Went for my second acupuncture session. She wanted to pass a small electric current through the needles. Didn't like it, so she stopped. Had a skin reaction to the needles she used last time, so had to have different ones this time. Feet got really cold and couldn't relax. Not sure it's for me. The acupuncturist said that I need to decide that too. She was surprised that I haven't had af yet, but that the effect of acupuncture is unpredictable. I asked how it worked and she shrugged her shoulders!!

We did have a helpful conversation about going to the GP, though and I will go back next week for one more session before making a decision. I'm going to go back to GP on Monday and get myself referred to gynaecologist re long cycles and absent AF. It may not have been that long (CD75), but her view was that I'm over 30, want a family and in the months it will take to see gynae and get tests done, I'll be older!! My thoughts exactly, but so good to hear it from someone else! DH, shock horror, agrees. So have done some research into local consultants with an interest in fertility/menstrual problems and know who to request and where they work. The difficulty will be getting an appointment with the GP.....
Think I'll start temping too. My chart is looking very big on fertility friend - started it this cycle for CM.
Anyone tried agnus castus for cycles?

Boodle9 · 01/03/2013 21:18

Sorry Sid, I have had these tests done but never got my numerical results (because I'm a timid womble when it comes to doctors).

ILoveMyCats · 01/03/2013 21:21

P.S. cherry have you tried a different GP in your practice? That's my plan.... I would think that they should do something about the fact that you haven't had AF for 6 months ALREADY rather than wait another 6 months!!

Boodle9 · 01/03/2013 21:23

Cats, nor have I tried agnus castus - I think it's the only thing I haven't tried yet! Smile

Soph80 · 01/03/2013 21:30

Sorry Syd no idea

Boodle when do you get a rise in temp? I mean, how soon after the OPK +ve?

Boodle9 · 01/03/2013 21:38

Soph, I usually get my temperature drop (indicating ovulation) the day after I get a positive OPK. My temperature then goes up the day after that.
Obviously, I don't actually know for sure that I ovulated the day after the positive OPK for 3 days as FF likes to see a sustained 3 day temp rise!
Ov day itself tends to vary between day 15 and day 18, but that pattern described above is pretty consistent.

Now then, it's Last Leg time! Woo hoooooooooooo! Smile

Pipbin · 01/03/2013 21:45

New Ladies, here is the Elderberry prayer:

Our peestick
Who art in the bathroom cupboard
Clearblue is thy name,
Thy peeing on done,
Thy one line only come,
This month as every other,
Give us every other day strength to DTD
Forgive us complaining
As we forgive those who give us advice,
And lead us not to read the internet
And deliver us of a baby (eventually)
For thine is the CBFM
The opk and the conceive plus,
Until we get two lines
Amen.

I use Fertility Friend.
If you want to look at my charts they are here: www.fertilityfriend.com/home/pipbin
I love chart stalking.

I did temp, and I found it helped me to learn a lot about my cycle, but I also found that it meant I was obsessing because the first thing I thought about every morning was ttcing.

Cherry the lack of AF sucks a great deal!

Pipbin · 01/03/2013 21:53

Oh and ladies; FREE CAKE SENT IN THE POST, honestly, well it is sometimes cake, sometimes other stuff. Go to www.graze.com/ and say that I sent you by putting in this code: W12TTJT and they will send you a free box. Yes you do need to sign up, but you can cancel it any time.

Boodle9 · 01/03/2013 22:10

Pip! Stop trying to make me fat(ter)!!! I just cannot allow myself to get tasty snacks sent straight to my doorstep; it would be an absolute recipe for disaster! I have very little willpower when it comes to tasty snacky things!

I am in an unsual situation - have seen some EWCM tonight and am PISSED OFF! DH not back until Monday and it's very unlikely that ovulation is going to hold off that long.

Pipbin · 01/03/2013 22:13

I get days of EWCM it might just be an early lot.

Oh, and it's all healthy stuff, even the cake.

Boodle9 · 01/03/2013 22:31

Unfortunately I don't tend to get a lot of EWCM; one to two days, max. At the risk of TMI (oh, who am I kidding, I don't really care!) the normal routine for me is to only have one 'wipe' where it's noticeable! Blink and you'll miss it EWCM is what I have!

Pipbin · 01/03/2013 22:46

Oh I see. I get so damn much of it you could make a meringue. At the risk of even more TMI, when I am about to OV it takes a couple of wipes to clean up! And I get a good week of it too.

Boodle9 · 01/03/2013 22:55

Yeah, I know the double wipe thing, it's just that I only ever seem to have one or two loo visits where that's the case! I am sort of jealous of your week...in a strange way!

Do you think everyone is so grossed out by our CM talk they've all just left?!

Bunnygirlie · 01/03/2013 22:56

Evening all! Just back from meal out, what's occurring?!?

OP posts:
Boodle9 · 01/03/2013 22:57

Hang on - I sound like I'm contradicting myself there! In my last but one post, when I said I only have one wipe where it's noticeable, I mean one loo trip! At the very most I might see it a couple of times but once seems to be more the norm.

Think I've got bigger things to worry about though - when luteal phase is 9 days long, worrying about EWCM seems a bit pointless.

Boodle9 · 01/03/2013 22:59

Good evening Bunny! Hope you had a lovely meal out, with good food, fine wine and sophisticated conversation...

...now sit your arse down on the sofa, eat a choccy digestive and tell us about your mucus! Grin

Pipbin · 01/03/2013 22:59

How are you tracking OV? Are you sure it's 9 days?

Bunnygirlie · 01/03/2013 23:10

Evening pip and boodle are we the only ones on the sofa this evening?

Good food eaten, ameretto drunk and sophisticated-ish conversation had lol

As for mucus, I don't notice any ever!!!

OP posts:
Boodle9 · 01/03/2013 23:12

Yeah, pretty much. The EWCM that I do get fits in with OPK (or CBFM when I was using it) and temperature rise. I would share my charts, but I'm tight-arsed quite thrifty, so I've never paid for the full works, and this months isn't there yet! I also have spotting for 2-3 days before that so really, my luteal phase is a disaster zone!

MotherOfCleo · 01/03/2013 23:16

ahh boodle spotting in lp sounds very familiar, I dont know if it was just luck but 40mg of b6 daily and daily progesterone cream sorted out my spotting this month. Might be worth a try? I honestly had no spotting at all and mine usually starts 5 days after I ov. Ironically I used to get breakthrough bleeding mid cycle when on the pill but never thought anything of it....should have paid more attention....doh.
