Conception

When's the best time to get pregnant? Use our interactive ovulation calculator to work out when you're most fertile and most likely to conceive.

The ongoing search for BFPs now leads the BESH to the barren polar wastes, in the footsteps of Scott, Shackleton and Franklin.

Pack those reindeer sleeping bags, huskies and skis - we're off to the Antarctic to look for our BFPs. Unlike Scott, we'll eat the poniez if necessary (topical joke). Let's huddle together through the Antarctic night and we'll try not to kidnap one of the emperor penguin toddlers for our very own. Bring on blizzards, pack ice, shipwreck, attacking leopard seals, voyages across the Southern Ocean in rowing boats and hazardous traverses of South Georgia in search of rescue - just like the Shackleton expedition, NO BESH WILL BE LEFT BEHIND.

(do I win the prize for most random fred ever?)

RaspberrySnowCone · 02/03/2013 21:47

Film4! Best film ever

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 02/03/2013 21:50

Our digital channels are rubbish. The choice is so poor. No film4.

Best film ever? You seem to be confusing it with Jurassic Park, rasp...

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 02/03/2013 21:59

JURASSIC PARK?

OP posts:
RaspberrySnowCone · 02/03/2013 22:11

GOD NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO not Jurassic park! MATV is obsessed with that film, must have seen it 100 times or more. That and anything by Tarantino

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn · 02/03/2013 22:17

I was terrified by Jurassic Park as a 11yo (ish), I had to leave the cinema Blush

We are watching HWHNN's Supernatural DVDs. I would do very bad things to Jensen Ackles Grin

RaspberrySnowCone · 02/03/2013 22:24

Lol Frank! Wino ..... Not that I can't talk Blush

maamalady · 02/03/2013 22:33

It's a fabulous film! I watch it all the time. I love Tarantino too, MATV has good taste!

Good T-Rex impersonation there, rie

maamalady · 02/03/2013 22:34

Psycho is proper creepy, btw. Great film, and I'm glad I'm not on my own to go to bed now!

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 02/03/2013 22:34

Hmm. Am trying to think what is the best film in the world. Struggling.

It's Tropic Thunder here tonight on the film front....

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn · 02/03/2013 22:37

Best film in the world:

Weekend At Bernie's

RaspberrySnowCone · 02/03/2013 22:45

Never seen weekend at Bernard! Am I missing something life changing? Don't even know who's in it?

maamalady · 02/03/2013 22:51

Never even heard of it, Frank.

For the record: I am well aware that there are many films that are better, however this does not mean that Jurassic Park is not The Best. Terminator 2 is second, followed by Jaws.

Django Unchained is the best new film I've seen for a very long time, I keep meaning to go to the cinema to see it again.

maamalady · 02/03/2013 22:54

And Tropic Thunder is great, especially the end credits which prove Tom Cruise has far more of a sense of humour than I'd previously imagined.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn · 02/03/2013 23:01

Never seen it Shock]

It's an 80s classic Grin

To be fair, I'd also rank anything by Mel Brooks the greatest, alongside Kubrick's Dr Strangelove.

RaspberrySnowCone · 02/03/2013 23:07

Django unchained is awesome!

CaptainMollingtonCholmondeley · 03/03/2013 03:14

Django was good, tropic thunder was good, mel brooks blazing saddles has the most amazing film ending ever, plus I LOVE the Marlene Dietrich "I'm so tired number" but they all fail the bechdel test miserably.

My current faves are anything by wes Anderson esp fantastic mr fox, and life aquatic. These probable fail the bechdel test too but are good enough to make up for it.

I've been up all night getting pished and I don't care who knows it.

Northey · 03/03/2013 07:36

Ow hangover.

It was very nice to drink things again though, after all the ivf abstinence.

It is not very nice to stumble downstairs with a headache and an uncertain stomach and be confronted with two piles of cat sick on the kitchen floor.

EuroShaggleton · 03/03/2013 07:46

Brilliant typos, rasp.

I've only ever been to one baby shower and that was not really a proper one - it was the leaving do for a preggo at work going off on mat leave. Someone organised an afternoon tea. There was a lot of baby chat but I think it was before I started or trying or very much in the early days, so it was hideous (in the way that baby showers are) but didn't make me want to curl up in a ball and cry.

Norf I'm not a lover of hen dos either. I've only ever been to one, and I had to organise it as I was MoH. Sorry about th cat sick. Bleugh.

What's the bechdel test, moll?

We had a friend over last night. He and KFZK got through copious amounts of wine. I watched, enviously. I'd better not, until it's confirmed it has all gone wrong. And then I am going on a massive messy bender

Northey · 03/03/2013 07:53

How was your day at home in the end, euro?

EuroShaggleton · 03/03/2013 08:10

Quite pleasant, thanks. I went for a run, then to the supermarket to purchase the entire crisp aisle and then watched Three Colours: White. In the evening I tortured myself by watching friend and KFZK work their way through my wine rack. It was quite a nice day really.

How's the head?

maamalady · 03/03/2013 08:14

Is the bechdel test the one to see how misogynistic a film is? 1) Are there named women, 2) do they talk to each other, 3) about something other than men?

maamalady · 03/03/2013 08:17

Jurassic Park passes, btw
