Conception

When's the best time to get pregnant? Use our interactive ovulation calculator to work out when you're most fertile and most likely to conceive.

The ongoing search for BFPs now leads the BESH to the barren polar wastes, in the footsteps of Scott, Shackleton and Franklin.

Pack those reindeer sleeping bags, huskies and skis - we're off to the Antarctic to look for our BFPs. Unlike Scott, we'll eat the poniez if necessary (topical joke). Let's huddle together through the Antarctic night and we'll try not to kidnap one of the emperor penguin toddlers for our very own. Bring on blizzards, pack ice, shipwreck, attacking leopard seals, voyages across the Southern Ocean in rowing boats and hazardous traverses of South Georgia in search of rescue - just like the Shackleton expedition, NO BESH WILL BE LEFT BEHIND.

(do I win the prize for most random fred ever?)

Oh, and commiserations, norf - hopefully it's just too early to tell.

I pee in a pot too - I have a proper large urine sample pot with screw-top lid that I nicked from work a couple of years ago. Very professional Grin

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 26/02/2013 07:59

Sorry you're feeling so ill draf. I had a temperature for three days running (and sweated through all our nice bedlinen, it made me very popular) and then it came down. I found I slept quite well during the middle of the day after a nice cuppa, 2 paracetamol and an aired house. I slept for probably 16 hours per day over the weekend. You will get better and if not go and see someone!

maamalady · 26/02/2013 08:10

I'm sure it'll blow over by the end of the week, driz. In the meantime I shall just look pathetic. I really want to wash my hair, but I can't stand the thought of drying it - loud hairdryer etc. Maybe I can just wrap it in a towel and let it take on a mystery shape...

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 26/02/2013 08:58

Sorry norf. I think it's just too early :( hang in there!

Good luck with exam Frankster.

draf hope you feel better soon.

EuroShaggleton · 26/02/2013 10:37

Norf as I said on the other fred, the fat lady hasn't sung yet.

Draf sorry you are sicky.

I hope the exam goes well frank.

CatsCantFlyFast · 26/02/2013 12:14

Another fucking instadiffer in active threads. Bastarding arseholes

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 26/02/2013 12:17

Ha did you see my cynical response though? 5 days before AF is due could still be a chemical....

CatsCantFlyFast · 26/02/2013 12:26

I have a strong suspicion one of these instadiffers may have hairy hands. It doesn't add up. Anyway am erasing them from my memory and concentrating on positive thoughts for non instadiffers who need them

Northey · 26/02/2013 12:29

Ooh, you bitch, faith! Diffedness is making you mean.

maamalady · 26/02/2013 12:34

I hate instadiffers. They give false hope to those who are struggling with TTC but who are not yet BESH-cynical.

I don't understand why some people are instadiffers, some people take a year or so, but we are left on the shelf as perpetual motherhood wallflowers.

maamalady · 26/02/2013 12:44

A facebook moment now - cousin's DH has posted a link to DfE website and says "Great to see the DfE encouraging adoption. Great opportunity to change a life...". I am so tempted to ask him if they're planning to adopt, but am afraid of the potential conversation. Also I don't think for a second that they're planning on adoption (especially as they already have two birth DC), so it just feels like a totally sanctimonious thing to say.

I may well be unreasonable in feeling like that, though. It just seems so easy for him to pontificate about worthiness from the position of already having DC, whereas I've spent the last year or so looking up the legalities and procedures involved in adoption, and being pissed off that I can't do any of it until we've stopped TTC.

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 26/02/2013 12:46

Was I too mean? I still maintain she POAS on the very early side and it could all end in tears. It's not the diffedness that's making me mean, it's the Blardy UTI the GP has just diagnosed me. I am in bits in my womble. Every time I walk I start contracting Confused. I'm sure I'll be naice Faithy again when the antibiotics kick in. I will go and congratulate her now! :)

maamalady · 26/02/2013 12:57

POAS early never did anyone any favours. You were the voice of reason, faif.

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 26/02/2013 12:58

..and ignored any way! :)

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn · 26/02/2013 13:01

Boo to the instadiffers! I don't mind much the ones who acknowledge how lucky they are, it's the ones who assume everyone has it easy that get on my wick.

Exam all done, not as bad as it could have been. After cramming all that stuff on Contracts and Tax last night there wasn't a single bloody question on it Angry

EuroShaggleton · 26/02/2013 13:12

Oh faif that sounds horrible. Will you get some time off work?

Well done frank. What will your reward be?

draf the best scientists apparently can't discover why some people are instadiffers and other barrens. 30% of people struggle are "diagnosed" with infertility. It's sh1t. And I have a suspicion that because IVF deals with a multitude of ishoos, less effort is put into researching those missing diagnoses.

EuroShaggleton · 26/02/2013 13:14

BTW, just to forewarn, there is a second royal baby on the way this summer (Freddie Windsor's wife, Big Suze). Just in case, you know, anyone wants to emigrate to somewhere with no news access before then.

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 26/02/2013 13:18

Yes have decided to take rest of week off on GP's advice. I'm physically struggling to cope at work and its making me miserable.

Well done Frank. Tis inevitable that what you cram for the night before will never be in the exam.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 26/02/2013 13:21

Who the chuff is Freddie Windsor?

I thought you were going to say Zara then.

Any more thoughts about asking Sophie to be our Royal Patron?

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 26/02/2013 13:22

Draf dare you to ask if they are going to adopt. Just dare you!

Saying something really PA such as "Gosh I didn't know you were planning on adopting?! Good luck!"

OP posts:
EuroShaggleton · 26/02/2013 13:25

Prince/Princess Michael of Kent's son. SHe must be due about a month after Kate. I predict a media frenzy. Zara must be next surely.

I'm glad you are getting some time off faif.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 26/02/2013 13:42

I'm hoping Zara will be a no nonsense barren. Not because I wish barreness on anyone, but because.....well.....actually I don't know

OP posts:
FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn · 26/02/2013 13:46

I get what you're saying Rie, plus Zara is a horsey gal so she'd fit in nicely round here.

My treat for tonight is no revision/reading/writing Hmm. I need to crack on with another assignment that is due in on 22 March. I'm on a course all of next week so won't get a chance to do anything on it then.

maamalady · 26/02/2013 14:00

I'm so tempted, rie, but who knows where the conversation would go - I'm too chicken to say anything in case it ends up with me confessing barrenness to everyone on facebook Hmm

I thought euro was going to say Zara, too. I was amused the other day watching the rugby though, because I can't get the idea that Billy Twelvetrees is actually Zara and Mike's son (clearly having travelled back in time from the future) out of my head Grin

EuroShaggleton · 26/02/2013 17:16

I think Zara would be a cool BESH. I was expecting to see her diffed after the Olympics. Maybe we should make ourselves known to her in case she need some support in a family of apparent instadiffers.

A propos of not very much at all, my instadiffer friend (the one who got diffed with her accidental third without actual penetration) looks exactly like Zara.
