Conception

When's the best time to get pregnant? Use our interactive ovulation calculator to work out when you're most fertile and most likely to conceive.

The ongoing search for BFPs now leads the BESH to the barren polar wastes, in the footsteps of Scott, Shackleton and Franklin.

Pack those reindeer sleeping bags, huskies and skis - we're off to the Antarctic to look for our BFPs. Unlike Scott, we'll eat the poniez if necessary (topical joke). Let's huddle together through the Antarctic night and we'll try not to kidnap one of the emperor penguin toddlers for our very own. Bring on blizzards, pack ice, shipwreck, attacking leopard seals, voyages across the Southern Ocean in rowing boats and hazardous traverses of South Georgia in search of rescue - just like the Shackleton expedition, NO BESH WILL BE LEFT BEHIND.

(do I win the prize for most random fred ever?)

Grin @ extracting a head from an arse.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 21/02/2013 21:38

Ah, you weren't of fred then moll. It was last autumn, and it is not so terrible anymore. I knew she was a bitch before this...

TWinklyLittleStar · 21/02/2013 21:38

For example, my instadiffer friend who, when I mentioned giving up booze and cutting right down on meat as a fertility booster, told me about the steaks and wine she had on the holiday where she got diffed first cycle - she was always utterly thoughtless. When I told her, years ago, I had split up with my first love, she responded not with sympathy but with a run down of her valentines day plans.

Once a prick, always a prick.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 21/02/2013 21:39

I second your Grin rasp

TWinklyLittleStar · 21/02/2013 21:42

Just to clarify on my previous post - my sister is far more than semi-decent. She is wonderful. and an MNer who knows my user name so I do need to clarify But you know what I meant.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 21/02/2013 21:45

I got that twinkly. My absolutely wonderful sister is an instadiffer too. It is not necessary to be evil if you're fertile. But those who have their heads in the bottoms never change.

maamalady · 21/02/2013 21:47

Exactly, Twinks. Some people are thoughtless - TTC woes just highlight that.

EuroShaggleton · 21/02/2013 21:54

Gosh, you lot have been chatty tonight!

Fred feme is apt. It is bloody Arctic out there! Brrr. I just went for dinner with a friend at a restaurant right on the Thames an it is ridiculously cold down there.

Norfy I wasn't knackered during the 2ww but I am now.

Frank I agree with HWHNN on this. It is encouraging (although I fully recognise it is also shit). Your problem is no eggs (right?). If this was a CP, it means you solved that problem. Egg met sperm. Even the uber fertile have the odd CP. I am sure I was told in GSCE biology that over 50% of embryos are duff ones. You've solved the problem, now you just need to play the odds.

sinky that seems like good advice from RL friend. After all, you have to be in it to win it.

rasp you're back!

moll can you ask at reception for a print out? My surgery will do that. We can help you interpret until you can get to Dr Blah. Your SiL needs killing. Just saying. Or maybe just to slip over hard on some husky shit as you like her.

I must confess a shameful secret: Sherlock completely passed me by. I've never seen a single minute. I think I would like it though. I really must catch up on it at some point.

Period dramas would be a very apt feme for us.

maamalady · 21/02/2013 21:58

What?! Euro, you must watch Sherlock! It's superb, truly.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn · 21/02/2013 21:59

Shock @ Euro never seeing Sherlock. How s that possible?? Order it now - only £12

I get what you are saying, I really do. I'm still in the feeling miserable phase, but I actually feel a lot better for having cried talked it all out with HWHNN.

CaptainMollingtonCholmondeley · 21/02/2013 22:07

Frank - a good cry can work wonders, onwards and upwards and all that.

As you can see, I have grown a new name that is suitably Victorian and heroic. It is of course, pronounced Mitten-Chumley.

I really enjoyed Sherlock, though I do think they need to write better parts for women. (Obvs I totes worked out how he did it at the end too.. )

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn · 21/02/2013 22:23

More huskies

maamalady · 21/02/2013 22:23

How he did it at the end is not as interesting to me as wondering what John's reaction will be. I really really want to know how the two of them deal with it. And I want to hug John :(

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn · 21/02/2013 22:25

I think John will punch him, again Grin And yes, he needs a hug. Molly needs a hug too, god bless that girl and her unrequited love.

maamalady · 21/02/2013 22:29

I concur, fists flying does seem likely! If they hug I will squee like the demented fangirl that I am, but it probably won't happen, much as I wish otherwise. Molly is wonderful. The Christmas present scene still makes my heart break for her.

Northey · 21/02/2013 22:32

Excellent new name, mittens!

Also, that spaff test imbecility is just the sort of thing AMNH would do

£12? Not bad... I've been meaning to get a copy of Sherlock. And now AMNH has put up his shelf (a mere twelve months after mooting it), we even have a ready made home for it.

CaptainMollingtonCholmondeley · 21/02/2013 22:36

I worked with Molly once. She was nice. I would enjoy seeing her get her guy. She was all unrequited in the project we were on too.

CaptainMollingtonCholmondeley · 21/02/2013 22:37

*CLANG!!

Sorry, that was the sound of the name drop just hitting the ground there..

maamalady · 21/02/2013 22:53

Good work, mitts.

I am reading Sherlock fic now, and oh god some of it is heartbreaking. :( Is it normal to want so desperately to cuddle fictional characters? I've felt that sort of thing all my life...

CaptainMollingtonCholmondeley · 21/02/2013 22:59

I just looked at those husky puppies FRANK
I love their amazing combination of extremely cute and extremely sinister!!

I wants one, precious.

CatsCantFlyFast · 21/02/2013 23:05

Captain I knew you were famous which is why I am stalking you

CaptainMollingtonCholmondeley · 21/02/2013 23:23

Merkin Alas, I am not remotely famous, but my line of work does mean I cross paths with the famousish fairly regularly.
Sorry to disappoint. Pls do be keeping mental images of me as a glamorous red-carpet-treading ballgown-wearing type though

CatsCantFlyFast · 21/02/2013 23:28

Captain I know you keep saying you're not famous but in my head you're my claim to fame. Just have to figure out a RL celeb who is good in the Antarctic and as a Victorian....

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 21/02/2013 23:44

I am pissed.

Will catch up n morningn
