Not started a new Fred before but hope it is successful for us as we are going to get our BFPs, either by traditional rat smacking activities or using the power of medical science.

Ladies I do declare WE WILL GET THERE - FACT !!!

BeedlesPineNeedles · 08/03/2013 12:14

mon did you sneak in a little BFP there? Shock congratulations Thanks
Take the progesterone, it really won't do you or the baby any harm, its just a top-up for what you body produces naturally

I hope that's the first of many over the next few weeks :o

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 08/03/2013 12:26

Congratulations Mon make sure you take that progesterone, it can only ensure a very sticky bean Smile

Mon26 · 08/03/2013 12:47

Hello Ladies!
Beedles, With, Maybe, Everything, thank you for the congrats and emphasis on the progesterone (messy pessaris, but hey, I don't mind if this is what it takes!). I actually don't want to get too excited. I will do my homework with the progesterone and let's hope all works well. :) Little by little as we say in my country!

I can't wait to see more BFP poping up soon here!

Brooking all the way!

SweetieTime · 08/03/2013 13:04

ControlGeek · 08/03/2013 13:10

Just popping by very quickly mid-upgrade to shake my BFP pom poms at mon - congratulations!!! - and to shake my speed-date-in-a-petri-dish pom poms at keep's 11 eggs and MrK's something-million swimmers.

will catch up properly later xx

keepitgoing · 08/03/2013 13:29

Congrats Mon! :)

Hope to join you in two weeks.

Mil has not asked a thing, other than to bring me some flowers and ask if I feel OK :)

Got, the tea, toast and bacon sarnie I had this morning were amazing. Try being nil by mouth when it's 35 degrees... I've had a nice lazy day watching tv and dozing. A bit nervous in case none fertilise - they never have before and they must have met.

My eleven eggs have 350million speed dates to get through overnight!

ScarlettInSpace · 08/03/2013 16:12

Oh well done Keep on the 11 eggs, that's excellent news!

Well done to you too Scarlett you're doing great!

Congratulations Mon on your sneaky BFP, well done!

Sweetie how did your appointment go today?

Thank you lovely Maybe I'm not doing too well actually so was trying to keep myself busy and away from MN and the Internet today. Appointment went well in terms of going through everything, there was lots of waiting around and it was quite manic at argc. There's an issue with DH's hep b result so he has to have a DNA test and if there's a problem with that we may not be able to cycle at all. He had the blood test yesterday whilst we were there and also an SA. They rang today with SA results telling us that the sperm were dead but other figures ok so he needs to do that again in 4-6 weeks! They also suggested I do a monitoring cycle too and get my immunes tested, higher risk of there being an issue due to the endometrioma, but all of this is dependant on DH's blood result which hopefully we'll get back in 5 days. It all got a bit much for me yesterday and just feeling quite dejected about ever having a family. It just feels like one thing after another at the moment :( Would appreciate lots of brooking :(

NoMaybeAboutIt · 08/03/2013 22:19

Oh Solars you poor thing. MrS is a medic isn't he? Is he up to date with his hepb vaccinations? I'm sure this is just a blip and the repeat results will make everything clear. Its just one thing after another isn't it.

I am brooking so so hard that all comes back ok. We are all here brooking on your behalf xxx

keepitgoing · 09/03/2013 04:19

Well done Scarlett they'll be whoppers by Monday! :)

solars I'm sorry you're feeling down. Why were the sperm dead? I'm brooking like crazy for his hep b result, but assume he's got immunity as he's a doctor? Big hugs

So 7 fertilised!!! Grin which is about normal ivf fertilisation rate. We are v happy, I had got scared there'd be none. Now we have to wait till Monday to see how they are growing. Wait, wait, wait. I can't believe there are 7 half-me-half-dh's! How awesome is that :)

BeedlesPineNeedles · 09/03/2013 05:59

solars sorry you had such unexpected and confusing news. But we are all here for all the hand-holding and brooking you could possibly need.

keep well done to those 7 eggs and sperm. Awesome indeed :o

scarlett fab news about your lovely follies, I believe someone said that three is the magic number :o

Solars · 09/03/2013 07:50

Keep that is fantastic news, grow embies grow!

Thank you all, the hep b core test was done at Oxford who failed to tell us the result which i am quite peeved about but because 2 of the other results were negative that was enough to satisfy them all ok but argc want to do a further dna type test to satisfy themselves. It could be a false positive and yes DH was had the vaccinations so we just feel a loss with it all. As for the dead sperm, DH has admitted to me that perhaps some soap got into the sample Shock Confused Hmm If we get the blood results back and all is good I could hopefully start the monitoring next cycle, however I think I'm due early next week so it's cutting it a bit fine.

DH is at work today so I'm going to have to try and keep busy without thinking its all doom and gloom. So I have planned yoga, shopping, cleaning/clearing up, baking, movie, cooking. Hope that's enough to keep me from thinking too much. Hope everyone else has a lovely day x

keepitgoing · 09/03/2013 08:55

solars some soap?! Oh my goodness, what was he up to... It's a shame he can't get it repeated earlier. Could you suggest starting the monitoring cycle even if the bloods aren't back? There's just too much waiting. Your day sounds nice, and good and busy.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 09/03/2013 10:15

Oh Solars. It does sound positive about the messed up hep b result and the sperm sample. I'm sure they are both results of error. Soap in his sperm sample! The mind boggles Wink your day sounds lovely. What are you baking and cooking?

Keep well done you!! That's amazing news!! You're going to have loads to choose from!!

keepitgoing · 09/03/2013 10:20

Thanks maybe :)
What day next week will yours all kick off? Are you doing long or short protocol?

NoMaybeAboutIt · 09/03/2013 11:21

Appointment is on Tuesday Keep. Will find out the the exact plan, but from what I've been told, it will be long protocol so should start on day 21. Am on day 2 now, so it should hopefully be the end of the month. If things go to plan.

SweetieTime · 09/03/2013 11:24

Solars so sorry to hear about the HepB results and shocking you weren't informed of this on your past cycle. Poor DH and soapgate but I am sure the next tests will be ok. Hope you can get your head together and the next tests come back with more positive news.

Keep that Barry White music must have done the trick, 7 little embies growing away. It is a really good number, I bet you are so excited for further news on their progress. What day are they thinking of doing the transfer?

Scarlett how are you feeling about Monday? 3 is a great result, just a shame number 4 didn't go further but that would have been a bonus.

Well our meeting went really well yesterday, all very positive apart from a minor breakdown when talking about the generosity and selflessness of our donor. I just go straight on womble lining meds when AF arrives next week and stay on them until ET. I have nothing more to do. DH had to jiaj when the eggs are collected from the donor and that is it.

We were offered use of Embryoscope to monitor the embies in time lapse so they get a better picture of quality. They say it can increase chance of pregnancy by 20%. But of course at a cost of £750. We are not sure if to go with it or use the normal method of embryologist checking the embies. Has anyone heard of this before or know if it is just a selling job?

OP posts:
NoMaybeAboutIt · 09/03/2013 11:41

Oh wow Sweetie that all sounds so positive! You must be so excited!! I've never heard of that technique. What a tough choice to make. Is there much research done on it? Or is that 20% just in their clinic?

SweetieTime · 09/03/2013 11:49

Maybe they gave us a info sheet on it and I am going to let DH Google it this afternoon he is a real geek and loves researching They had used in other Care clinics with success, but they are bound to say that.
