Today is day one of cycle 15 ffs.

Stopped contraception with a view to trying in Oct 2011. Started charting and "actively trying" in Dec 2011. We're starting investigations this month but I wanted to take charge myself a bit more. Aside from charting and healthy eating which we are doing already.

Anyone recommend good books? Thinking along the lines of special diets, yoga, pilates, etc. My partner is very supportive and keen to try anything, so I'd like books that are inclusive of the male role in the whole she-bang.

Hello Cortana

Sorry - I don't know of books for yoga, pilates, special diets or anything, but one book that has helped me get to know my body and cycles a lot better and which was recommended to me on here is 'Taking Charge of your Fertility' by Toni Weschler. I use it as a reference book too. It's mainly about temping and charting, but it has lots of explanations of the processes your body goes through and things you can do to help yourself. It also has a fair bit on the male role too. I bought it off Amazon for about a tenner, but you could just get it from the library and photocopy bits.

I'm going through the tests thing at the mo and the book has been good at explaining what I'm going for and why. I've also found a booklet from NICE very helpful. The link to it is here: www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/pages/fertility-tests.aspx It's at the bottom fo the page under the section entitled: 'What's next?' fourth paragraph down. Hope this is of use to you.

Good luck with the tests and everything. Hope you get a BFP soon.

Thank you Bearface. We're at the point where we'll try anything. Will pick up the book this week. DP has some waterstones vouchers and we'll have a wander down.

Fifty Shades? Fnar Fnar, I know - so September 2012 (and also by all accounts pretty lame).

Ah the threads make me nervous Bear, they give the me 'being 16 and walking into a party where I know no one' sweats! I feel so intrusive just reading them.

Oh that's a shame Cortana - you shouldn't. All you need to do is introduce yourself and everyone else does the rest.

I'm on www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/1646942-Bring-on-New-Year-Bfps-its-Just-Shagging-thread-13 if you need me to show you round haw haw - really does feel like being 16 now! I only joined before Christmas and everyone is very welcoming. I've learnt loads since being on them (have only been on since last Septemberish).

Well, good luck whatever you choose to do. come over to Just Shagging
