Anyone else want to join me in getting ready for ivf in 2013? Good egg buddies wanted!!!

Hello,

Dh and I have been trying for over 2 years and had one failed ivf (Icsi) attempt at the Argc last spring. We are going to go again in the new year.

I wondered if anyone else was planning to do the same? And whether anyone fancied joining me in 'princessing' (stolen from style & beauty :) ) for ivf?

I'm not sure what this means in terms of what I'll do, really hoping for some help in researching how to get the best eggs ever, and perhaps how to improve dh's little swimmers....

Anyone up for being a good egg buddy?

delilah I'll be testing with an internet cheapie on Monday morning (12dpEC). I am sure it hasn't worked and I can't stand the idea of going for my blood test on Wednesday and then having to take the call with the bad news at work. I need to POAS first (with Mr Euro nearby) so I can prepare myself.

It sounds from your POAS that your beta will have risen nicely tomorrow.

euro, I think you are doing exactly what I would do. The thought of getting the news out of the blue at work would be terrible. And then having to carry on working...

Can i just impart some knowledge on the ovitrelle trigger shot, just in case anyone is as thick as me? I had to do mine at 4 in the morning, so it is safe to say i wasn't properly awake. I had read the leaflet the night before but it all looked fairly similar to the gonal f. Anyway, i couldnt figure out how to get the display to show the 250, i was only seeing dashes. Short of the story, just keep turning up the dial and the dashes will change to the 250 eventually.

Too right didals DH thought I was mad, but seeing the line get a bit darker each day has really helped my confidence levels after all the chem pregs we have had in the past. Although lining up wee-soaked bits of cardboard on my dressing table is pretty gross if you think about it too clearly.

euro I have everything crossed so hard for you, i really hope this is your month.

Northey looks like your follicles are doing their thing...good luck for your scan tomorrow. Let us know if they give you an EC date. I hit small blood vessels all the time don't worry about it....it doesn't effect the action of the drugs. I'm feeling a little bloated and a bit uncomfortable and sore around my belly but nothing too major. I'm finding I'm much more tired than usual.

Euro I'm also only having one back in (fingers crossed I actually get an embryo). I'm also on my 1st attempt and 33 so CRGH/UCLH RMU would be reluctant to put more than one in.

So this week I have had 3 scans and 3 blood tests...have felt pretty low and emotional at times.

My Merional dose has been increased from 225 to 325 to 450 which is the top dose.

My scans are showing 9 follicles but they are small so yesterday I had to take a shot of growth hormone to see if that would boost them. Didn't realise it wasn't on NHS so waiting for a lovely bill from that pleasure....but I guess if it works it will all be worth it.

On the flip side my lining is looking healthy

My arms are very bruised and painful from where they keep trying to get blood out of me, god knows what's going to happen tomorrow, yesterday it took the nurse 10 mins to get any blood as she couldn't feel my veins and then when she did get one it just kept collapsing Sad.

I spent a lovely evening yesterday with my folks and aunt's family, they all know and are very supportive so that cheered me up somewhat. DH is being amazing, cooking, cleaning letting me rest and be lazy...Smile

So another scan and blood test tomorrow....I hope the follicles grow, I don't think I could stand it if I had come this far and they cancel EC on Friday.

Enjoy your Sunday peeps...is a rainy one here in London but I will be more than happy watching some Sunday TV and eating chocolate!

Hi all- posting from our local soft play dungeon, where the rain and DH's flu have forced me to take DS. You all sound as though you are doing well. I am terribly irritable and tired and feel all achey and congested in my pelvis if that doesn't sound weird. Definitely would rather be tucked up in bed with a book!

Hi all.

I am completely fed up with the pessaries. They are just so yucky! In the Euro household, we have nicknamed them after an irritating c**t we know...

I have a harrassed fanjo from a combination of the pessaries themselves and 10 days and counting of sanpro use, day and night. No thrush (yet), but it's just not happy! Meh. Surely they can find a better way to deliver a dose of progesterone.

They might also be making me really fucking grumpy

TMI Euro but I've never had any leakage... although they are not lying about the possible side effects when used rectally.

Stay positive - it's in a good cause.

I am currently having loads of low down cramps, a bit like a UTI but not. Yet another thing to stress over, particularly as I no longer feel very sicky. Although I did have to have a nap earlier as I was tired, quite unusual for me.
I also told my friend Blush and she was thrilled for me. Her DD was from fertility treatment as well, so she understands my worries too.

oh f*@k....just went to take my merional and realised only have a dose of 150 left when i need 450! have taken the 150 but this doesn't bode well for my small follicles that need a serious boost!

anyone else ever not been able to have full dose or missed one...?

scan tomorrow morning so guess i will find out soon enough Sad

honty try not to stress. I split an entire injection once and had nothing to replace it (didn't put the syringe together properly) and then had the most eggs ever collected that cycle. At least with a scan tomorrow you can get more meds if you need them ASAP.

Euro I'm doing back entrance only with the the pessaries and had no leakage whatsoever, or any other side effects for that matter!

2nd beta tomorrow then results Wednesday or Thursday. I am feeling very stressed and scared, what if the early bleeding was the end of this pregnancy, and all my symptoms since have been caused by the mega doses of progesterone I'm using? I know there is nothing I can do, and the Internet cheapy tests I've been doing seem to be getting darker which is a good sign. Tonight though I've been having loads more crampy feelings which worry me, although when I don't have them I also worry!
The worst thing is, even if the levels come back well I'm going to continue stressing. That's the worst thing infertility steals from you, a pregnancy where you can be full of hope and optimism, I'm only too aware what can go wrong.

delilah the piss sticks are getting darker - this is a very comforting sign.

Hmmm, I'd heard bad things about the back door but maybe I'll give it a go. I have a specific reason as well as a general distaste about it though. I had an anal fissure years ago and the scar tissue developed into a lump which had to be surgically removed and it has never been quite right back there since and I really don't like doing anything with it that is not what nature intended!

Honty I'm sure it will be fine. It's only one dose and at least you got some in. Good luck for your scan tomorrow.

Although if it gets that bad in the front god knows what I would try!

Just to weigh in... You don't get 'leakage' when you have diarrhoea, so I think the muscle is pretty strong Blush

I had my iui on Sat, last one. My lining was a bit thin so was given HRT!!! Which is just oestrogen, but seems weird.
