Hi all
Just dropping by quickly to share aome advice with badger
As pocket said I too was told I didn't absorb the folc acid well in its normal form. So I spent a fortune buying this alternative folic acid, it was called something like ' folate .....' I showed it to my new consultant at HSFC and she made a point that my folic acid levels had never actually been checked trough a cycle. So on my last ICSI round I took the zita west vitafem, vital DHA and the vitafem boost. It was expensive - but my folic acid levels read normal all the way through! Do look up the alternative source though, the problem I found is what I would take with those if I took them as I'd still need all the other pre pregnancy vitamins which would still have folic acid in - then id be over dosing on folic acid which is just as bad! Infact worse!
So see what your consultant makes of the zita west combination I mention. Shop around online for these too as you can get them cheaper than the ones on her website.
I also used her relaxation tape and I can honestly say that these really helped me last cycle (although not to get pregnant) I decided to give Te Accupuncture a miss last cycle, is done it religiously for three cycles and it hasn't worked any mirracles. I found it good for relaxing because my ccupuncturist was also very intune with Ivf so I felt less alone, but I think in this horrid journey spending loads of extra money is also another worry - so just do what you feel works for you.
I too have had a cycle with clexane, prednisolone and baby asprin. It might also be worth asking about intrallipids, these help with immune issues and helps you become a very neutral and accepting environment to an embryo. Without immune drugs your system can be on 'High alert' and get rid of anything that intrudes!
I also had the scratch and a saline hystergram last week which again helps the perfect womb to have not such a perfect environment, the scratch makes the womb need to heal and not be on such high alert next month when you cycle. I find it pretty much pain free, the most important thing is to tell them to use a small spectulum - a that's the most uncomfortable bit if its too big!
I promise I have sen reading everyone's posts while nipping on and off here quickly.
Sorry to hear all those who have had scares and bleeds. I was hoping things would get easier once you got a positive result.
It's great to hear the success stories ladies, keep those updates coming.
Sorry to hear from those who are kept waiting. A tip there I used to find I was chomping at the bit to get on and hated the waits. However now (I m about to attempt cycle 5) I maximise the time in between and say to myself if this is my path, perhaps we were supposed to have more time to be selfish, enjoy life without kids for that bit longer and in a way prepare mentally for change. (Otherwise I would tell myself that life is bloody unfair and why am I being punished!!!!)
Hello to all the lovely new ladies too.
AFM
So true to my words I start stimming in 10 days (ish) time and so we are taking off to Spain (£39 bargain flight! Accupunutre alternative) to work in the sunshine for a bit in my lovely aunties villa.
We then come back and face yet another difficult cycle, defrosting my hubby's sperm - which on defrost was all dead last time :-( and if the same happens with this (which we has no reason to believe it will be any different) we finally take the plunge with the donor backup! It's been one hell of a month reaching this point to be ready for this cycle - but for now I am pleased we can go off for a week and know that no more plans need to be made.
DSB ladies - even after 4 files rounds I still think this might actually happen! Fingers crossed for more good news from others posting. XX
P.S - apologies for the spelling and rambling - typing these things on an iPhone is a nightmare!
