Morning all!

So oh told everyone excitedly that we wee ttc. Got a visit from my best mate who so far in my life has done everything before us, we got engaged she did and planned her wedding before we had even had a chance to look at a mag when we bought our house so did she the road down from us. We got a kitten she got 2, u get the idea. Anyway told me her and her oh have decided to ttc aswell as she would like our children to b born around the same time and we can br pregnant together( thata saying we both fall easily and have no trouble) now I don't wanna feel like this bit I can't help it, we want to move on with our lives at our own pace and I can't help but feel like she's making it some sort of competition and all I wanna do is scream at her I don't wanna involve u in everything I do.

Think I need someone to put me back in my place and calm me down lol and stop me being so unreasonable.
Go for it ladies lol. Sorry to rant so early in the week!

Mrskbpw · 26/11/2012 11:15

Hello all.

CD1 for me today. Trying not to mind too much. Had a wonderful weekend with my best friend having a baby on Saturday and getting some unexpected PPI money, so I kept thinking a BFP would have been the third Good Thing. Oh well.

It's our third cycle, and we're TTC number 3. My next period is due on Dec 23rd.

TakingTheStairs · 26/11/2012 11:42

Oohh Setay that would drive me nuts, I'd be giving my OH a smack for being so thoughtless too though! Grin
Does he even realise what he has done?
Maybe you should tell your friend that you've decided to hold off for a bit and keep trying without telling anyone.

Hi Mrskbpw sorry the witch got you, fx for this cycle.

Chookford I'm now debating having a sausage sandwich for lunch. yum yum!

BinarySolo · 26/11/2012 14:16

I really must stop this obsessive testing. Ovulation tests first half of the cycle, then pregnancy tests the second half.

Believe it or not, I'm an intelligent woman, so why oh why oh why do I test well before my period is due EVERY month. What is wrong with me?

Don't even get me started on the symptom spotting bollocks I do every month...,

Haylebop12 · 26/11/2012 14:32

I am refusing to do any opks or even count which cd I am on :-) my new approach!

MrsTwinks · 26/11/2012 14:41

can you two give me some willpower please. Trying so god damned hard right now NOT to go and try using an opk as a pregnancy test. I had enough willpower not to go and buy those but the opk's are just sitting there... and I probably wont need them next month..

seriously I'm not the only one with a visit due this weekend, how are none of the rest of you going insane with the wait.

TakingTheStairs · 26/11/2012 14:57

Step away from the OPKs MrsTwinks, Step away!!!!!

Firstly, OPKs are not reliable as pregnancy tests.

Secondly, Testing this early is a waste of your time. It's too early for a BFP
"Implantation, when the fertilized egg implants into the endometrium, happens about a week after ovulation (range: 6-12 days), and it takes another 3-4 days after implantation (9-16 dpo: days after ovulation) for the blood pregnancy test to first become positive, followed 2-3 days later by the early positive pregnancy urine test, the home pregnancy test (HPT)."

MrsTwinks · 26/11/2012 15:04

see... logically I know this. But I still wanna do it just in case

BinarySolo · 26/11/2012 15:28

Mrs Twinks! You're so like me! Cheap pregnancy and ovulation tests are both a blessing and a curse. Mainly a curse. A curse I tell you!

BinarySolo · 26/11/2012 15:31

Oh yes, and asking me to talk you out of testing? Did you not read my previous post. I've already tested twice this month. I blame the possibly pregnant hormones for this obsessive and irrational behaviour.

Ahem

MrsTwinks · 26/11/2012 15:44

lol! god help our DP's when the hormones REALLY kick in eh

TakingTheStairs · 26/11/2012 15:58

My DH said when we starting TTC to conceive that he was tough enough to survive 9 months of mood swings... I seem to get them badly for 24 hours when I'm ovulating... he will never survive 9 months.. I even annoy myself! hahahah

QuietNinjaTardis · 26/11/2012 16:02

Hi guys, think ill be hopping over to this bus permanently soon. Poas and bfn and got mild period pain so doubt it'll be long before she rears her ugly head. Cd29 at the mo. so fed up with this. I just. Want. To. Be. Fecking. Pregnant.

sazzababs · 26/11/2012 16:22

Hello all :)

I've been on various buses this year, moved over to the February Grad thread/Facecrack but had a mmc at the 'magical' 12 week scan in August :/ Been trying again since, but no luck so far. I was a week late this month and stupidly got my hopes up, only for the red bitch to FINALLY make an appearance today :'( Thought it was a late birthday baby present lol.

Sooooooo, CD1, bottle of wine in fridge and gonna mope for a few hours then slap myself across the face with a wet kipper! I'd quite like to have a celebratory Xmas this year and y'all sound like a lovely bunch, so I'm gonna leave the thread I'm on and park meself on a seat with you guys if that's ok?
Leaves homemade banana loaf and scurries away

extracrunchy · 26/11/2012 17:14

Ok I have a gross question...

On top of having just enjoyed a 24 hour vomiting virus I now also have thrush (sorry tmi). Obviously I'm not up for dtd if it's actually uncomfortable, but I've just got some Canesten combos (splashed out on the internal cream AND the pessary combo cos couldn't decide which to use) and my question is this...
Will taking the internal cream/pessary affect our chances? Will it kill/slow down sperm?? And which do you think is a better bet in this regard - internal cream or pessary that breaks down?

Thank you Grin

extracrunchy · 26/11/2012 17:15

P.S. hi sazza! Sorry to have greeted you with the thrush post....

TakingTheStairs · 26/11/2012 17:32

Hi sazza So sorry to hear about your MC, park yourself down next to me (esp if you have my fav banana loaf!)

Grin at extracrunchy's greeting you with a thrush Q!

I don't have an answer for you though extracrunchy.

I have horrific indigestion all day today and yesterday which I never get. Don't think it's a symtom this early on but I'll add it to my obsessive symptom spotting list anyway.

sazzababs · 26/11/2012 18:03

Yay!
Plonks erse down on seat

Hmmmmm, nae sure about whether it affects any spermies etc, but their website says this...

'It is probably not a good idea. If you?re treating a yeast infection, you should abstain from sex during the course of the treatment and cure (about 7 days). This way, your yeast infection will likely be cured and you will minimize the chance of transmitting the infection to your partner. In addition, Canesten® may reduce the effectiveness of some birth control methods, such as latex condoms, diaphragms and vaginal spermicides. This effect is temporary and occurs only during treatment. '

sazzababs · 26/11/2012 18:04

Spooooo, missed the copy paste of the question!

'10. Is it okay to have sex while I?m using Canesten®?'

extracrunchy · 26/11/2012 18:05

Thanks sazza! I really don't want to miss out on a chance this month though Sad

sazzababs · 26/11/2012 18:10

It does say that it affects birth control though! :D Hmmmmmm, maybe give NHS24 a wee call?

extracrunchy · 26/11/2012 18:21

I reckon they'll be sensible and tell me to hold off till it's gone! TTC makes me mental.

Dexidoo · 26/11/2012 18:35

Mmm banana bread thanks.

When I had thrush during shag week a couple of cycles ago I took the oral tablet rather than used a pessary. It cleared up pretty quickly.
