Thanks mrshp and jolly no will power needed - I think I knew the answer all along just with the two mc's and the beta blockers I'm so scared xx. Been told by the OH I'm getting wrapped in cotton wool this time :) Today I AM pregnant 4+4 here's to dtd on a lazy morning off work Blush xx

oo00PIXIE00oo · 02/02/2013 20:05

Do I need to start taking aspirin - what do people think?? x

Jollyb · 02/02/2013 20:13

The consultant I saw in the recurrent miscarriage clinic said it was worth a try though the evidence is a bit conflicting. I took it between 4 and 6 + 2 this pregnancy. I stopped when I had a bleed. You never know - it could have made the difference this time.

Thanks ladies Grin

buzzybeetop · 03/02/2013 07:46

Brilliant news Pixie! As far as the aspirin goes, after a discussion with the the GP I decided not to.

Also belated congrats to Redbird on your scan!

SomeDaySoon74 · 03/02/2013 08:24

Fantastic news pixie.
mrsHP - I'm still with you TTC-ing, or I will be very soon. I think my AF has finally stopped (it went on for 13 days!) so am quite relieved. I've read that you shouldn't dtd for 3-4 weeks after a D&E so think I might start up 'the romancing' on valentines weekend in a couple of weeks. That would be quit apt, methinks.
Hope everyone's having a lovely weekend.

tasmaniandevilchaser · 03/02/2013 12:47

SpanishLady · 03/02/2013 13:55

Hello, is there room for another newbie?

I started bleeding (brown watery) on Thursday by Friday had turned red and a scan at the epu showed there was nothing - I was 8+5.

This was my second pregnancy, I have a 2 yr old son (and my goodness how this has made me very very grateful for him).

Been at the hospital today for 2nd set of bloods to hopefully show my hormone levels going down.

I'm so sad and disappointed but understand it horribly happens to many women and so just want to recover and try to get past it.

I'm not bleeding much now and feel ok but don't want to worry my family by talking about how I feel calm one minute and want to scream the next!

It's comforting to read your stories and hear of the new BFPs - it's lovely, wonderful news!

Jollyb · 03/02/2013 14:14

Welcome spanishlady sorry that you find yourself on this thread but you're in very good company.

I hope that the next few weeks aren't too stressful for you and that you get some answers soon.

Thank you very much!

textbook · 03/02/2013 16:57

Sorry you find yourself here spanishlady Sad but Jollyb is right, you are in the best possible company. Everyone here is lovely and will totally understand what you're going through.

I remember vividly the feelings of just wanting it all to be over so I could get on with trying again. I felt like I was going mad as my hormones were everywhere - this is totally normal, so please don't worry.

Look after yourself, and post here if you need support.

Redbird12 · 03/02/2013 17:37

spanishlady so sorry to hear your news. Look after yourself over these next few weeks and don't beat yourself up if you feel very up and down. I know some days I felt like I was coping well and other days the slightest little thing could set me off in tears.

pixie congrats on the BFP! Hope you are joined soon by mrs hp and someday.

state lovely picture, thanks for sharing that.

Now I am over 7 weeks and the scan showed all ok so far, I tried to arrange my midwife booking in appointment for sometime over the next couple of weeks (saw her both times previously around 8 weeks). The receptionist at the doctor's laughed at me and said I had no chance of getting an appointment until March!

I asked how my 12 week scan would be arranged as there would then be a strong chance that I would reach this point before ever seeing the midwife. She took my details and said the midwife would just go ahead and arrange it without seeing me. I'm just a bit confused as no one has yet asked me where I want to have this baby ( given a choice of 3 different hospitals or at home previously as there is no 1 local hospital) and also, don't you need your notes when you go for a scan?

Has anyone else been in this position as not sure what to do next? DH thinks we should just continue to pay for private scans, so much for saving up for maternity leave!

SpanishLady · 03/02/2013 18:02

Thanks red bird.

I don't think that sounds right (12 week scan before booking in) I'd try again or ask if the hospital can do booking in (friend did that when told couldn't get apt at her doctors surgery until she was 14 weeks!)

Jollyb · 03/02/2013 18:21

No I agree it doesn't found right. I'd contact your midwifery department directly. They may be able to see you in a different clinic to the one at your GP.

Hi everyone...
Congrats Pixie :o)
Well where tom begin...on Friday afternoon I received a letter from hospital...more bad news they have had results back from the labs which indicate that i had a possible molar pregnancy I have to attend a clinic on the 27th and am unable to TTC for the next 6 months...Gutted :o(
Has anyone had this or heard of this?
love & Hugs Kerry xxx

MrsHerculePoirot · 03/02/2013 21:21

Oh Kerry, that sounds a scary letter. I don't know anything about it, but had a very quick look on the NHS website. The bit I focused on was "It is recommended that you don't get pregnant again until Your hormone levels return to normal, which normally happens within two months but can take up to a year.... The risk of reoccurrence is about 1% and most women go on to have successful pregnancies". It sounds like you might be able to TTC earlier if hormone levels return to normal quickly.

Mrsd77 · 04/02/2013 11:49

Hi Kerry, I had a partial molar pregnancy last year, detected at twelve week scan. You get monitored by a regional centre for six months (mine was Sheffield) which involves sending a urine sample fortnightly by post. They basically monitor your hcg levels to check no residual tissue in there is turning nasty.

My levels were fine almost immediately and I waited 4 months before ttc. Didn't happen straight away though but am now 14 weeks.

They watch you closely at the beginning of any future pregnancy and again once the pregnancy ends.

Fx for you.

LCR77 · 04/02/2013 17:03

Firstly, sorry been a bit off radar. Have been checking on how everyone is doing though.

Massive congrats to pixie on your BFP and redbird on your successful scan.

So sorry spanishlady that you're here but you'll find this a very supportive group of ladies who totally understand what you're going through.

Kerry a friend of mine had a molar pregnancy 2 years ago and went through a similar ordeal to you and had to go for regular checks. They had to wait 6 months to TTC again and they have now just had a healthy baby. Do as much research as you can and try and get the most out of the clinic - they're the experts.

All seems to be going well with me at the mo (fx) now 8+4 and counting. manly burping seems to have subsided but waistline rapidly expanding but not really eating any extra. Had a few wobbles with DP and now told a few close family and friends. Just happy all seems to be well right now. Countdown to 12 ws is on. Roll on 28 Feb...

backwardpossom · 05/02/2013 12:29

Congrats Pixie!!!

Welcome to the thread, SpanishLady, although obviously sorry that you are here, too.

I had my final scan today at 35+3. This baby is much bigger than DS was... head down, bum sitting under my ribs causing the painful ribs... I now have a date for my section. 27th Feb. EEEEEK! I can't believe it, after all the heartache, I'm going to have my baby in 3 weeks at 38+5! It's so close. Don't know if I'll believe it until the baby is in my arms, though!

SpanishLady · 05/02/2013 14:28

Hi Backwardpossom

how wonderful! that is lovely news and has really lifted me!

My hormone levels have come down - was 2,000+ on Friday by Sunday night (the doctor rang me at 8.40pm - they really work looong hours) about 517.

Does anyone know how much lower it needs to go - all the way to 0?

My bleeding has stopped (perhaps just for now) but slightly optimistically I did a pregnancy test this morning and it came up pregnant straight away. So will behave myself and wait a few weeks - ok a week!

I have come back to work today and feel that was a positive step forward to getting past what has happened.

I dont feel so bleak right now. Hope everyone is doing well.

LCR77 · 05/02/2013 16:39

SpanishLady I'm not sure whether this is the case for everyone re. levels as mine was suspected ectopic. I had to keep going back for bloods over 3 weeks until I'd dropped below 3.

My sister had a mmc at a similar time and was told to keep doing HPT till she got a BFN. She didn't have any more bloods done. Then I suppose it's up to you how long you wait before TTC again. We waited until I'd had one AF which they recommend just for ease of dating etc but entirely up to when you feel ready.

Hope this helps.

backwardpossom · 05/02/2013 17:53

I didn't get any bloods done after my mmc - I just did hpts (just internet cheapies) until they were negative. x
