Oh dear, it is never easy is it, not to mention expensive, even if you are using internet cheapies. Well you are among friends now.

Griffomais · 04/12/2012 21:12

I think you should get OPKs on NHS free after so long of trying.

MissLToeishavingsantasbabyboo · 04/12/2012 21:19

It would be nice wouldn't it. How long have you and DH been married?

Griffomais · 04/12/2012 21:25

Only got married in Sept been together for 5.5 years and TTC for just over 2 years.

MissLToeishavingsantasbabyboo · 04/12/2012 21:36

Well I think there is a lot more you should be getting after 26 cycles! Have they said why they won't refer you straight for treatment?

Griffomais · 04/12/2012 21:49

They said I wasn't eligible until been trying fo 3 years and because I'm unexplained. I just think it ridiculous and so unfair - the amount of people recently who have told me they are pregnant after 1 month.

Biscuitsandtinsel · 04/12/2012 22:02

Griff that is a really tough criteria!! Especially when the waiting list is so long Sad

I can totally understand where you're coming from with the pressure it puts on your relationship. The whole SWI on demand was exhausting. And it became such a mission that after a zillion cycles I could never be bothered with SFF if there was no chance of a baby. I know that's wrong and I should have tried to keep it nice and light hearted and take the pressure off everything but I couldn't. I've told this before to the other brookers but I remember DH asking how often I thought about ttc - maybe once a day? Once a week? He was subjected to a rant an explanation of how ttc occupied pretty much my every waking thought (or so it seemed). Between working out my cycle days, working out when we needed to SWI, imaginary symptom spotting, there was barely time left to torture myself with daydreams of 'what if' - you know the time you spend thinking 'If I get pg this month, it would be due here, I could tell work here, it would be before / after this or that event' etc.

Towards the end of our ttc (and we only did 19 months) I was beginning to wonder if I was actually getting medically depressed about it. But I didn't want to go to the doctors because I thought 'they'll never do IVF or anything if I was on anti depressants etc'. Crazy how much it can take over your life.

When I finally did get pg I still felt the pain of it. When I got to tell people and they said 'congratulations' I wanted to shake them and say 'no, that isn't good enough! It's a frigging miracle!'

Anyway, I'm rambling (too much Wine). I love the brookers. They literally got me through this. And we'll get you through whatever the journey throws at you xxSmile

Griffomais · 04/12/2012 22:13

Awh biscuits thank you so much for that - everyone on here is so helpful and friendly. Had a very bad experience on BESH thread people not so nice there to newcomers!! I am still hoping and praying for a BFP at some point without having intervention.x

MissLToeishavingsantasbabyboo · 04/12/2012 22:26

Ooh Biscuits that was a lovely thing to say. Griff your in the right place, stick with us, we will all get that BFP!

Griffomais · 04/12/2012 22:30

Thank you - just ordered more OPKs and ready to start again in a few days - maybe this time!! Sometimes a bit of understanding from others is all it takes to restart the fight Smile

SparklySanta · 05/12/2012 06:24

biscuits you always have such a knack of explaining things and summing up stuff!! I totally want to shake people when they say congratulations!! When we told my nan she said "I was beginning to think you'd never have kids" Shock Angry I got a little shirty with her!!!

We only went through 12 months, 14 cycles I think cus I had a couple of really short ones!! And now I feel a bit guilty about how much of a fuss I caused because it was 'taking so long' I'm brooking for each and every one of you because brooking babies are the best!!!

Have you seen the exciting news on the grads thread? Smegs has an update!

SantasLittleControlGeek · 05/12/2012 09:38

Fab, fab news from smegs, a classic brooking sneeze birth!

WinterSolstice · 05/12/2012 12:51

Oh wow we're nearly at the end of the thread!

Glad to see we didn't frighten Griff away! It sucks having to wait for 3 years on the NHS if you're unexplained until they do anything further, we were the same and only just managed to get an ivf cycle as I turned 40! Is there any chance you can go privately? Our ivf picked up on a few issues which could be why we're struggling to conceive! There is so much about infertility that the NHS takes no account for and just labelling you as unexplained and making you wait for any treatment, I am only now beginning to feel is unacceptable.

Thanks for all the brooking but its as I thought CD1 today! Which I feel fine about as I don't think we have any hope naturally now and I think icsi is our only option! Just looking forward to getting this lap done and onwards to icsi!

Waves to all x
