Welcome to our new humble abode for the next six weeks or so, Brookers!

Here's hoping this fred will be as lucky as sparks' and scarlett's [hgrin]

SecretSparkle · 22/11/2012 10:45

Geek Thats great news!!! So glad things are looking a bit better!! Thats the power of brooking for you!!!
Enjoy lunch, make Mrgeek pay Grin

Princessishavingababyboo · 22/11/2012 11:24

Ooh Geek that all sounds very good, so pleased you have some good news at last! :):)

Solars · 22/11/2012 11:59

Geek that's a lot of positives there, so glad all went well. Do you just wait for your op date now or do you have to see your consultant again? And yes I have a folder it is clear on the front with purply, bluey, greeny dividers! It goes with me to all my appointments! By the way how did you cope with the full bladder? When you go for ET you have to have a full bladder which wasn't that bad for me but when I was delayed by 45mins it was a little uncomfortable to say the least!

Keep interesting developments there at 8/9dpo, lots of brooking for you! Yes my list of questions is compiling in my head at the moment, will put it down on paper soon and of course will update you all too. We were thinking of ARGC if we do go for ivf, we are just north of London and plus they have a satellite clinic not far from us that I can get all the scans and bloods done during the cycle, rather than going in to central London, which is helpful.

Boo where has the 17 weeks gone??! Shock

Beedle I am now picturing your home with random bits of tinsel all over the place Hmm Perhaps it will culminate into a beautiful piece of decoration by the time your DH has finished with it!

Sweetie if you're out there, hope all is well, I could be wrong but I recall you having an appointment at the end of November?? In any case I'm brooking for you and all other lurkers out there!

BeedleTheBard · 22/11/2012 12:35

Yep solars that's about right. My dad does this too, how has MrB suddenly turned into my dad

keepitgoing · 22/11/2012 15:45

Yay geek!! Just so you know, it must be 18 weeks from when the referral was made, to when treatment is. Wasn't your referral some time ago...? Exciting!! What's O'Neill, is it like weatherspoon? Classy Smile

solars I read great things about argc, and how fan there's a local clinic as I understand they do bloods up to twice a day!! Anyway, see how Saturday goes.

Also have a feeling maybe was having an appt soon. Lurkers, don't forget us!!

I invited someone on another thread onto here, as she said she always thought of cd1 as day 1 of her pregnancy. You're a brookee, I said. Maybe she thought me crazy

12 days till mrK is home!

Night all, will be brooking in my sleep for us all. X

Geeklette · 22/11/2012 17:39

keep it's like an Irish version of wetherspoons - amazing menus! Drool away Unfortunately because I needed a separate referral to a separate hospital (though same consultant) for this operation compared to my IVF referral, the 18 weeks started ticking just two weeks ago. I don't think it's cast in stone anyway, it's just a 'do our best' guideline as I understand it.

sparks MrG did indeed pay, but t'was only right, since he had the whole day off work and I had to go in for the afternoon Grin

yay boo how long have I been waiting for some good news eh?

solars the full bladder wasn't too bad today, in fact I was a bit worried it wouldn't be full enough as even though I'd had 2 litres of water it was only over the space of about an hour and a half, since the appointment was at 9am. When I did my trial transfer, I was able to do much better as I was able to drink about 3 litres over four hours or so though it hurt like billio and I was terrified of losing control of it while they were doing the trial Loving the sound of your folder, very posh indeed!

beedle any development on tinselgate today?

I've been reading about vitamin C and vitamin D to reduce the size of fibroids, so might give that a go since it's increased almost a centimetre in length in just two months.

How's the weather where everyone is? It's horribly wild and woolly out here tonight, so pleased I don't need to go out again.

Brooking for maybe, scarlett, sweetie, and all the other brookers present, lurking and graduated.

keepitgoing · 23/11/2012 02:04

It's not cast in stone, geek, (since the Tories came in) but it is still 'expected'. So i would think that unless they are in a majorly f*ed up period that they will come through on it. Yes, you can have multiple clocks ticking at the same time for different issues.

i hated having to have a full bladder for my NHS didlo-cam. Interestingly i have already have one done here (unplanned, they just did it at the consultant appt) and they didn't need it. Perhaps the NHS take pleasure in pain...

the weather? about 30 degrees and sunny. Grin

happy friday! i am seeing old friends tonight i've not seen in five years! Smile they do have a 6 month old though (sigh) so i am expecting questions about when we want kids, and will have to point out job situation etc. which is all true but not stopping us trying, clearly.

Geeklette · 23/11/2012 07:38

keep I was told they needed an empty bladder for the dildocam, in fact mine wasn't quite empty enough so was casting a shadow where she was trying to look so had to empty it (again)! Seems it's just the external scan and TT/ET they need a full bladder for. So jealous of your weather :(

Sorry for short post, was up really late this morning so rushing round like a mad thing.

BeedleTheBard · 23/11/2012 08:19

I also got sent to have a wee before my dildo cam!

Weather here is grey and wet and windy about 5 deg. not jealous at all of 30 deg Though we might get some snow next weekend :o

Tinselgate doesn't appear to have increased, probably because we're still missing one of the boxes of decorations.

The boss is sick today so I'll be spending the day getting bargains from Amazon :o

keepitgoing · 23/11/2012 08:46

you're all right, of course. i had the external bit done while bursting for a wee, then the internal bit was ok.

ooh, snow!! i love snow... Happy bargain hunting beedle

CupcakesAndCocktails · 23/11/2012 10:36

Morning,

Sorry I've disappeared again for a bit. Winter is always crazy at my work, as it's bronchiolitis season (Oliveswill know what I mean) plus I'm doing a few extra shifts for Christmas money.

I've read back a few times but my brain is all fuzzy so forgive me if I miss anything Blush

Geek fab news from the latest scan, I was so pleased to read about that after your previous posts. Hope you are feeling ok. Am brooking for a op date very soon.

Sweetie how are you doing? Are you starting to get ready for Christmas?

Solars well done on getting all your noted and a quick appointment. It sounds like you and MrS have got some big decisions to make. I hope this appointment helps you make this decision. How are you feeling about it all? I have read that ARGG has some of the best success rates on the fertility forums.

Beedle sorry to hear AF turned up, I was really hoping you would be our next BFP. I'm loving MrBeedles Christmas spirit Grin I always put my decorations up 2 weeks before Christmas. However I've decided to risk ridicule & put them up on the 1st this year Blush. As I don't get any holiday over Christmas I always feel its all over too quick. I've got 4 days holiday the week of the 10th so I'm going to be wrapping all my presents/getting prepared then so I want the house to feel all Christmassy.

Keep lovely to have you back although I'm very sorry to hear you have gone off the name Calcutta. Not long now till your pre treatment ironic BFP!
Good luck with your friends later. Last week we were seeing some friends with kids for a couple of hours as they were in manchester for the day. I got all worked up before hand as I was anticipating insensitive remarks re ttc etc. They didn't say a thing & they didn't go on & on & on about their kids & they seemed truly interested in what we had been up to. It was very refreshing. Hoping you have a similar experience Grin

Sparks loving your Prague stories! I've also been before about 5 years ago. We went with about 12 uni friends (a lot of the same friends who are going again this time). It was one of my favourite holidays ever. How are you feeling? When is your scan?

Boo glad to hear you are finally glowing thanks to Booby. Can't believe how far along you are already!

We have received some more info from the IVF clinic. We have to wait till day 1 of my next period to call & arrange for more blood tests & fannycam. DH has to give a blood test & SA, I've no idea what his blood test is for. I'm on cd 7 so it's going to be a few weeks before I can make an appointment. The letter went onto say that from this results they will decide if you need any assisted conception & contact you. If not you will be discharged Hmm. Also there is a section about if you are accepted your pct will then make a final decision about funding. All in all a not very hope inducing letter Sad I am now worried they will so they can't find anything wrong so keep trying naturally or that the pct will refuse to fund it.

SecretSparkle · 23/11/2012 11:31

Keep/geek I had to go to my dildo cam appt with a full bladder cus they did a bog standard ultrasound first, then I had to get up go to the loo then they did the other scan (not while I was on the loo obvs)

Cup Yes it was one of my favourite city breaks, until I will to Edinburgh which I loved but obvs Prague was much much cheaper!!! I thought I was getting better, I had 2 really good days, still whoozy but better, then yesterday it all went down hill and I just feel gross again!! Scan is week saturday Grin bricking it though!!!

Hope my other brookers are well.

little update from maybe she's ok just taking a bit of a step back (hope she doesnt mind me telling you this) she has a HSG booked for monday, I think.

BeedleTheBard · 23/11/2012 11:31

cupcakes how can they turn you down on the basis of a few blood tests? Didn't you have to wait for over 2 years of trying just to get the referral (or am I getting muddled up?) And as for your PCT being able to just turn round and say no Shock
But don't worry, you're a brooker and there's no way they would dare to turn you down

And on a lighter note, I think its normal to put the decorations up on the 1st here, as everyone has advent candles to burn on the 4 sundays of advent. I have an advent calender too of course :o

CupcakesAndCocktails · 23/11/2012 11:57

Yep Beedle it been over 2 years just to get this point. Your right I'm a brooker & they better not turn me down if they know what's good for them Angry I've just rung my doctor friend. She has told me (nicely) to pull myself together. She says it sounds like a generic letter that everyone gets to her and she said if the pct are going to refuse funding then at least I will know relatively soon instead of being in this limbo. She is right I would much rather know whether its what I want to hear or not.

Right I feel much better now, especially as I have your approval to put my decs up early Beedle Grin

Sparks it will be fine my dear, we are all brooking like mad for Saturday. What time is the scan? I'm working but will try to sneak outside at some point to get 3G to check on you. Sorry to hear your feeling rubbish again, glad you had a few good days at least.

Lots of love and brooking to Maybe, Scarlett and Imps

Geeklette · 23/11/2012 13:19

cup if it gives you any confidence, letters and forms had to pass back and forth between my GP, NHS consultant and the PCT funding body in advance of my being accepted by my IVF clinic. Not so sure about the bloods, but brooking that everything goes at it should in order to give you a speedy referral/appointment.

maybe lovely, thinking of you but totally understand you needing to take a step back. Good luck with the HSG. Come back to us when you are ready, we'll all be brooking for you in the meantime.

sparks two whole days of feeling better eh? If you hadn't have felt worse on day three what are the chances you would have been on here saying you were worried because you didn't feel sick? Wink Good luck with your scan, not long to go now!!!

beedle oh wow, I haven't seen advent candles since Blue Peter used to do the ones out of wire coat hangers and tinsel!

All good here, apart from going down with another cold the day after I thought I was over the first! Oh well, gets it out of the way in advance of all the Christmas parties Grin Tis cold but sunny here today, and for some reason my work have decided that despite the puddles and wet pavements today is the day they are going to do some leaf blowing. Cracking plan! No promise of snow for us yet, but I am a brooker and I refuse to take no for an answer.

keepitgoing · 23/11/2012 14:27

'Why don't you just have a baby while you're here? Don't leave it too late, its really tiring. He was a one time drunken accident. My best friend is 3 months GP she got married in August and started trying right away'.

Dear reader, I lied. Said we'd think about it soon, now is an unstable time.

cup they will NOT turn you down. End of.

BeedleTheBard · 23/11/2012 14:48

Sorry about that keep sometimes it is so much easier to smile and lie. Hope it wasn't baby talk the whole time

SecretSparkle · 23/11/2012 15:50

Geek I fear that you might know me too well I wasnt saying anything about lack of symptoms to the graduate brookers, honest

I wonder if you use the same leaf blowing company that we do, they were doing it yesterday Hmm in all that rain?!?! and when his little leaf blower failed be got his snow shovel out, no word of a lie he was scrapping the leaves of the pavement!!!

Keep I wonder whether in the years to come she'll enjoy telling her son that!!!

"No honey, you weren't conceived out of love, you were conceived because your mummy got pissed and can't keep her knickers up when she's had a barcadi breezer"

ahhh how the family will bond over that story!!

Where are you will be able to tell you child (because you will have one) that they came to be because they were much loved and much wanted, you had to wait for the absolute perfect baby to arrive!!

SecretSparkle · 23/11/2012 15:51

oh and Im not saying that your friend doesnt want/love her child, its just 'drunken accident' isnt something I would brag about!!

keepitgoing · 23/11/2012 15:59

Thanks all, I'm OK and it wasn't all baby talk. Most was lovely.

8 days sparkly and twinkle!!

Solars · 23/11/2012 16:38

Cupcakes lovely to see you back but sorry work is getting in the way of your MNing must put a stop to that I think the bloods for DH are perhaps the HIV, hep B & C? It's good that things are moving on for you and I am sure they won't refuse your ivf! Unless of course you become pg, which would be the only reason they would. In all honesty I'm not feeling too good about it all, I really want the consultant to say to me tomorrow "oh yes I performed a lap a couple of months ago to get rid of someone's endo cyst and she's just informed me that she's pregnant" Hmm I really hope they can give us a realistic chance either way.

Oh no my folder is not posh, I think it was a cheapo one from Rymans Geek. Just to add on the full bladder debate when I had my ET I too was terrified of losing control and at one point the nurse rested a lamp against my inner thigh and the warmth made me believe, for a good minute at least, that I had in fact relieved myself how embarrassing if I had The vitamins sound like a good idea by the way.

Hope you got lots of bargains today Beedle

That's a lovely thing to say to your child that they were much wanted and loved Sparkes hope you're doing we'll.

Keep I find the smiling and lying works best a lot of the time too, although I have to admit it is getting more difficult these days! We had those statements when we were in our year out in Darwin and a couple of people actually said "apparently everyone who comes to Darwin gets pregnant, there's something in the water you know" well we obviously didn't drink enough of it!!

Right my list is all ready now just hoping to hear some good things from the consultant now!

Oh yes if you're lurking Maybe, Sweetie & Scarlett hugs

keepitgoing · 24/11/2012 03:30

solars sorry you're not feeling too good about things at the moment. I am brooking like mad for your appointment today. Hope you're having the essential brunch/lunch to dissect it all afterwards with dh Smile

maybe good luck for the hsg. You're having the vf though, so I thought they didn't bother. X

Solars · 24/11/2012 15:23

As promised I'll update you all on our consultation this morning. We had a long discussion about my ivf cycle, the endometrioma and the 2 options we were given by the clinic, either go straight away for another ivf cycle with the endo still there or a lap and waiting 6 months to start ivf again.

Firstly, he said that I wouldn't have to wait for 6 months for ivf if I go for the lap, I would be good to go within a few weeks, the ovaries can heal quite well with the plasma technique he would perform on it. He did a scan and said it was a classic chocolate cyst what a difference it makes to getting seen by a consultant with 35 years of experience and a nurse who first said it was a simple cyst!! We also saw my corpus luteum. There may also be other bits of endo present which he wouldn't be able to see unless he does a lap.

He recommended doing the lap so that we can start with a clean sheet and give ourselves the best chance possible, which is exactly as I thought. So the up shot is we're going to go for the lap, hopefully in a couple of weeks. I'm halfway through my 2ww so we thought we would wait for my next cycle just in case of a brooking miracle that I get my BFP in the next week or so!

Keep sorry we didn't go for the obligatory brunch/lunch post mortem as we had other chores to get back to at home! Is it about a week left 'til your DH gets home now?

Hope everyone else is well and having a good weekend so far x

keepitgoing · 24/11/2012 15:56

What great news, solars!! Am brooking of course for bfp in the interim, but if not what a brilliant plan!! When will you go to ivf clinics to look round, after the op?

Am so happy for you! Did you talk any if with this lovely doc.

Riots here today but I'm safe and sound, staying well away.

keepitgoing · 24/11/2012 16:02

Talk any ivf, rather...
