Quod I generally regard myself as being quite reasonable and level-headed but ever since the BFP I have turned into a worrywart mentalist! One minute I am convinced it's all over and the next I'm reading Which? reviews of the best breast pumps and browsing maternity clothes Confused Oh well, only 233 more days left Shock Shock I'm glad your DP is finally on his way Grin

Ladies, I mean it in the nicest possible way when I say I am glad you are all having AF cramps as well Grin

Rache1S · 06/11/2012 12:26

Hazle I started and ended a cruise in San Juan last Christmas so I didn't really see that much of it but I would say it's as nice as any of the Caribbean islands from the small bit I saw of it and I bet the weather will be glorious in February.

Rache1S · 06/11/2012 12:33

For those still trying, you may need to get your boys out jogging if they aren't already....

thanks Rache, interesting article.

good to hear hub is on his way back Quod :)

winkle2 · 06/11/2012 16:27

Jjust wanted to let you all know we went to the docs today to get referred to the next stage and also get the results back from my husbands SA. Good news - the morphology (which was 1% last time) was up to 2% (4 is classed as normal) so we are so pleased the lifestyle changes he has made seem to be helping!

Feeling so much more positive now. The doctor was great. We had a good long chat and he told me everything we were doing was right and he hoped that next time he saw me it would be for an antenatal appointment :)

Pipbin · 06/11/2012 16:41

Sounds great Winkle.
I love the sound of your doctor.

janey1234 · 06/11/2012 16:49

Oh it does all sound positive winkle. I'm hoping he's right - that would be lovely... Smile
I bet my doctors on Thursday are nothing like that. They're all utterly useless - but then again I suppose all I need them to do is refer me to a midwife who isn't quite so useless, so hopefully it won't matter if they're crap (again)....

winkle2 · 06/11/2012 17:31

Thanks both :)

He said that he would refer us for IVF if we want - we are eligible. We've come home to talk about it.

He also said everything about me is fine, bloods, etc, and it is probably the morphology that has been the issue to date. But he also said it only takes one! Hub's count had increased from 35 mill to 48 mill! So I really feel like it's not going to be long now :)

winkle2 · 06/11/2012 17:33

janey - the docs at my practice are useless, this doctor is the only good one and you have to wait weeks for an appt. So glad we waited and saw him though, the other 2 we have seen didn't really seem to know what they were talking about.

I know people say going on mumsnet and babycentre etc fuels the obsession but I've learned so much from these types of forums - that contributed to the docs saying we were doing all the right things.

janey1234 · 06/11/2012 17:34

Oh well done your DH - it's brilliant it's improving so much. Might be worth trying some conceive plus (the lube stuff) - can't remember if you are already, but apparently it helps them swim further and live longer. Who knows if it's true, but I got my BFP on month two of using that with the ov predictor kit, so I'm a fan!

janey1234 · 06/11/2012 17:38

Oh and re fuelling the obsession, to be frank I think that as soon as you start ttc it naturally becomes an obsession, and as far as I'm concerned I've just gathered tips and support from here - there's nothing wrong with that....? Never heard of babycentre - perhaps I need to expand my obsession?! Wink

Quodlibet · 06/11/2012 17:39

Ahhh great news Winkle - it must be so good to have a) answers and b) progress. I am seconding the Conceive Plus - we used it for the first time the month we conceived.

Janey I have got my first doctors appointment on Friday. I am already thinking about where I want to be referred to, as we are trying to buy a flat at the moment and will be moving to a different area of London. I'm not sure how all that works to be honest.

winkle2 · 06/11/2012 17:55

Thanks quod and janey - we tried conceive plus back in May but it didn't work for us. If it helps them to swim further and love longer then I think that's what we need? Will look into it.

janey1234 · 06/11/2012 19:10

Quod - I had a big row with my GP about this last time. He said I had to be referred to my local hospital. I said I thought I'd read that you could choose - he was furious, banged on about how much extra work it was for him, and then as it turns out, didn't bother to refer me to anyone SadAngry

Anyway just choose a hospital. If/when you move you can choose to move hospitals if need be - the hospital told me you could change hospitals right up until you're in labour!

winkle2 · 06/11/2012 20:53

janey thats terrible that he shouted at you!

Pipbin · 06/11/2012 21:04

I've been using Conceive Plus for a couple of cycles to no joy yet. However it makes dtd a bit easier when I'm not completely in the mood and it's not going to do any harm.

winkle2 · 06/11/2012 21:07

I don't really have the problem of dryness so I'm wondering if I need it?

janey1234 · 06/11/2012 21:13

I know winkle. I also asked him if a mole looked normal he said yes, why was I asking. I replied that it just looked odd, and because my mum had a malignant melanoma I thought I ought to check. He then said that as my mum had it, it was indeed 'probably cancerous' and said he would refer me. He didn't do that either. I obviously wrote to he practice manager about him...

And I don't really have the problem of dryness either - sorry if TMI Blush - but heard it was good so gave it a bash anyway!

Pipbin · 06/11/2012 21:19

Winkle I haven't ever used lube before this. TBH we are going for the 'bish-bosh get the job done' approach and conceive plus is helping it happen.

winkle2 · 06/11/2012 21:23

janey - the other docs in my practice are useless. When I went to see him about my period not arriving for 43 days (I was on day 36) he told me to off for tests on day 21. I said how will I know when day 21 is when I havent had my period? He said go 21 days after it arrives. I said but how will I know when it's going to arrive? He said when you bleed....

Some of them are really rubbish!

Pipbin · 06/11/2012 21:40

So he has no idea that day one is the first day of bleeding? Idiot.
Can you go to a different practice?

Purplemonster · 06/11/2012 21:42

Hello all, how goes it, whose turn is it to POAS next?
Sounds like positive news Winkle!
To the BFP gang, no morning sickness here yet either but I expect it's only a matter of time so I'm trying to enjoy it whilst it lasts rather than freaking out about it. I don't think I'll really believe it until I have a scan tbh.

winkle2 · 06/11/2012 21:52

pip - the doc that I saw today was really good so I'm going to stick with the practice but make sure I only see that doctor. He's so good, that's why you have to wait weeks for an appt to see him.

Rache1S · 06/11/2012 21:58

Hi Purple, I am 6+5 and today is the first day I've felt really nauseous (and I mean I was green at one point!) Luckily I was slobbing on the sofa in my PJ's all day working from home and I have found myself looking at private scans. I came very close to booking one because the wait is agonising but I am going to wait until after my booking appointment next week before deciding. As rubbish as the sickness is at least it's a sign that there is something happening but yes you should enjoy it while you can Smile

Aquarius1 · 06/11/2012 22:24

Hi purple I'm planning on starting POASing on Sunday (11 dpo) using a FRER test .... Trying not to symptom spot yet- not much to report anyway apart from slightly sore boobs which I always get...
