Hi y'all, Welcome to our new meeting place :-) Let's refresh as usual -

Bunnygirlie - 32, married, TTC since June, due to OV this week according to app

OP posts:
ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 31/10/2012 09:18

bunny as pip says, have you POASed?

Rache1S · 31/10/2012 09:51

Bunny, please tell me you've POAS. The suspense is killing me! Smile

DH had a quick grope of them in bed this morning and said my boobs feel bigger Grin even though he is probably lying in an attempt to improve his DTD chances which are pretty much zero as I could not feel less horny at the moment. Poor DH, it will be a long 9 months if this carries on.

Rache1S · 31/10/2012 09:56

Janey what are you doing about travel insurance now you are PG? I am going to New York for New Year and obviously medical expenses in America are horrendous (FX I won't need any but better to be prepeared).
Is PG classed as a pre-existing medical condition for insurance purposes? Do we need a special policy which covers possible PG related incidents? Google does not seem to have a definite answer.

janey1234 · 31/10/2012 10:01

Oh Rache I hadn't even thought of that... I've got an annual policy with my bank account (which I've claimed on before and has been pretty good) which I've had for years so hopefully I'm covered under that, but I had better check given I've got a few long-haul hols coming up. Will try to ring the bank at lunch and let you know...

bunny please POAS if you haven't already? you never know.... Fx

Lolcbcblemonlime · 31/10/2012 10:33

Morning girls. DH has man flu so sex is off! However only cd7 and I have long cycles so am giving lots of meds in the hope he can get it up (lol) when necessary!!
Looked into zinc tablets for him yesterday. Need to find a way to sneak it into his breakfast as he won't take it!!

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 31/10/2012 10:38

Try the Hair Skin Nails one- will send the brand name when am home in the evening. I emphasised the hair point and it went down a lot easier Wink

janey1234 · 31/10/2012 10:41

Try the bassett vitamin sweets if he really won't take zinc tablets. DP didn't mind those at all as they're delicious! Only 20% of zinc RDA but better than nothing?

BraveLilBear · 31/10/2012 10:55

Hello fellow TTCers waves - I'm new here, may I join in pretty please?

I'm 32, came off pill last December, actively trying since September. Fell pregnant straight away on holiday (woohoo!) - only to suffer an early miscarriage just after 5 weeks Sad

So we're back TTC again... not sure how cycle is playing but if it's behaving itself, BFP due (fx) Nov 15...

scurries off to read previous 24 pages to catch up

janey1234 · 31/10/2012 11:03

Hi brave and welcome! Sorry about your mc, a couple of us here have been through the same - me at 12 weeks last year, and hazle at about the same time as you a couple of months ago.

A few of us are now pg but hanging around with our new online pals because they're lovely, and also probably a bit because we don't quite believe we are! oh and pip is hilarious so we're not going anywhere without her

Here's a summary for you - have added you on if that's OK. I think a few people are missing so please add yourselves on!

TTC:
Bunnygirlie - day 2 of cycle 6 I think, hurry up ov time and then fast forward 2ww!!
Winkle - day 12, cycle 15 BFP due 18/11/12
Pipbin - inventor, lover, adventurer - cycle 15 BFP (I like your style there Winkle) due 26/11/12
Zombies- day 28 of cycle 2 (40 day cycle), will POAS 9/11/12.
Happylass - day 13 of cycle 2 BFP due 12/11/12 ish
Bravebear - 32, ttc since sept, BFP due 15/11/12

PG
HazleNutt - 6+4 pregnant, next scan to see heartbeat on 13/11
Quod - 4+1 pg, haven't even been to doctor yet, in limbo (and also currently stranded in an airport because plane has broken down)
Janey - copying quod so also 4+1 pg, first doctors appt 8th nov, 12 week private scan booked 24th Dec due to (poorly timed) jaunts to middle and Far East in nov/dec
Rach - 5+5 pregnant. Booking appt 14/11/12. Absolutely bricking it
purple - I think you're pg too? Or am I mad? Can't remember though...

Pipbin · 31/10/2012 11:49

Bunny will you POAS already.

Well, fertility clinic appointment today. No clomid for me. I've been booked in for a lap and dye as the consultant wasn't too happy with the HSG results. Best case is that the HSG cleared out the left tube and the right one had a spasm which stopped any dye getting through. Worst case is that both tubes are scarred and blocked. If they are then most likely its straight on to IVF.

Lolcbcblemonlime · 31/10/2012 11:56

Thanks for the suggestions. Will try to find something.
Can one of you lovelies add me as I'm on phone?
Lolcbcb 38 (eek) ttc since July after early mc, bfp due 24th nov.

Pipbin · 31/10/2012 11:59

Oh, and I meant to say, I asked the consultant about spotting. He said that even a week of spotting before my period was nothing to worry about. It means that a bit of the womb, most likely where my fibroid is, is starting to shed it's lining a bit early. However this wouldn't have any effect of my chances of conceiving.
I also asked about running in the TWW. He said it was fine, he understood my concern about everything being banged about, but he said that nature makes sure that it is well cushioned and it would have to be a very serious lot of running to prevent conception.

janey1234 · 31/10/2012 12:34

Here you go lol, sorry. Forgot my elderly chum Wink Must be my age (38 in 11 days - eek!)

pip - don't know what HSG is but I'm sorry no chlomid for you. If it's any consolation a very very good friend at mine struggled for years and got pg straight away with her first round of IVF - at the grand old age of 37. At least they're doing something I guess?

BraveLilBear · 31/10/2012 12:34

Thanks you for the lovely welcome Janey

Good luck to all the TTCers and smiles all round for the pg ones!

Pipbin that's interesting news about running in 2ww - I'm also a runner (when not injured) - when I was pg before OH had a mini-freak out 'should i be doing that in my condition?' - the timing of the latest Runner's World couldn't have been better Smile

Quodlibet · 31/10/2012 13:11

Pipbin I'm sorry there's no Clomid but as you said, it didn't sound like that was the answer anyway as you seem to be ovulating. At least I think it sounds like your consultant is quite 'on it' and is methodically working through what the best next steps are. I'm sure these appointments are no fun at all but it would be even worse if you felt they were fobbing you off, no? Interesting what he said about the spotting too. If you want anecdotal evidence, my spotting sounds like it was the same as yours some months (I can send you my FF link if you like?), and I have (eventually) conceived.

I'm glad you got a definitive answer on the running too - the way I think of it is that (and sorry for the slightly bleugh analogy) in the first few weeks the implanting zygote is about the size of a blackhead - and probably equally unlikely to be dislodged no matter how much jiggling you do!! In my opinion we do ourselves much more of a favour being as fit as we can when we conceive than walking on eggshells and being uber-careful.

HazleNutt · 31/10/2012 13:15

There are just too many warnings. Don't do this, don't do that, don't eat anything...even if the risks are extremely tiny or in some cases, not even proven. Just that it has not been proven that it is not risky.
I bet that taking my car to work every day is significantly more risky than stuffing my face with unpasteurized brie..

Pipbin · 31/10/2012 13:22

I would be interested in seeing your FF charts Quoid. I get spotting from about 7 DPO onwards. I've always been convinced that it hasn't helped matters much.

When I asked about the running he understood why I was concerned but did say that women get pregnant all over the world while running and doing many other things. Training for a marathon is out but regular few mile jogging will do no harm at all.
I only run 3 miles 3 days a week, and have no desire to do any more, but as it has been put on MN before, ancient woman was always running away or towards something.

Quodlibet · 31/10/2012 14:21

Does this work: www.fertilityfriend.com/home/34ac98

I can't work out how to show you further back Pip, sorry, but last month's spotting was normal or perhaps a bit less than normal. It drags out after AF as well as you'll see.

Pipbin · 31/10/2012 14:49

That works, I get very little after AF but about 7 days before hand. So did you not get any before your BFP then?

captainmoll · 31/10/2012 15:16

Hi all, sorry I keep popping in and out - keep trying to distract myself with DIY while waiting for AF to turn up. Lazy cow is keeping me on tenterhooks this month..
Hello Brave!
Pip - just read back a bit and noticed your post about DTD every day. My doc warned me off this approach. She said every day means your partner has no time to generate fresh swimmers, so it just depletes his supply. Every other day is perfect - time to make healthy sperm and regular enough to catch the ovum while it's warm.
Still haven't managed to get my DH to make a doctors appointment, so no idea what his swimmers are up to yet.. When AF arrives I will cry at him until he books himself in. [hgrin]

Here's my update to the list:
TTC:
Lolcbcb 38 (eek) ttc since July after early mc, bfp due 24th nov.
CaptainMoll - 32 TTC since Sept 2011 (though missed a few months due to being in different countries etc) BFP due 3/11/12.

PG
HazleNutt - 6+4 pregnant, next scan to see heartbeat on 13/11
Quod - 4+1 pg, haven't even been to doctor yet, in limbo (and also currently stranded in an airport because plane has broken down)
Janey - copying quod so also 4+1 pg, first doctors appt 8th nov, 12 week private scan booked 24th Dec due to (poorly timed) jaunts to middle and Far East in nov/dec

janey1234 · 31/10/2012 15:21

Hi captain and welcome back!
Re DTD every other day, or every day, I think it's in dispute. I think people used think that you might have fewer quality sperm if you do it every day, but others think that they're better, fitter sperm who have more chance of reaching the egg. Who knows.
this is what fertility friend has to say about it
FWIW I did it every day for three days leading up to what I think was ov time.
I think the best approach is to do it as much as you both can cope with (within reason)!

HazleNutt · 31/10/2012 15:21

captain there is research that while DTD every day lowers the number of swimmers quite a bit, (but there will be still plenty), it improves the quality.

captainmoll · 31/10/2012 15:24

interesting, thanks ladies. Oh, whilst we're on the subject, what's morphology all about? Is it how many there are?

Pipbin · 31/10/2012 15:26

Thing is that DH had such a good SA result that the doctor showed it to someone else!
There is no problem with quantity or quality.
I only want to do every other day though. I'll talk him round.

Quodlibet · 31/10/2012 15:31

Pipbin no I didn't have any spotting this month at all. I do have the occasional month where I don't spot in advance of AF but always start with a day or two of brown before full red flow. This month not the slightest tinge (fingers xed).

I dunno if I said this on this thread, but I think our BFP this month may well have been due to the Conceive Plus. It's the first time we've used it, and we only managed to dtd twice in the fertile zone (the second time with conceive plus).
