Due to the luck thread starters have, I thought I'd mark a place for the second thread as we are so chatty!

Here's to BFPs for us all :-)

Omg my DH is not in the mood! Seriously? Wow... I am not happy!!! This is so sods law :(

Newbie2 · 24/06/2012 16:19

Pop nice to hear I'm not alone on the once a day thing!

NicolaHazel · 24/06/2012 17:05

Shit, Newbie, any way to entice him? :-(

OP posts:
Newbie2 · 24/06/2012 17:23

Nicola Shit indeed! I tried pouncing on him but that didn't work and we managed to argue instead:( He's now having a nap so I'll be pouncing again later! TTC is so much harder then I thought. I can understand why people don't want to POAOCBS every day because when you finally get that smiley face after 21 days you turn into some maniac sex driven 30yr old that your DH does not recognise :(

NicolaHazel · 24/06/2012 17:36

Can't you offer him a massage and hope it leads somewhere?! Maybe not make it about sex? I thought he wanted a baby though? (I'm guessing that was the gist of the argument.)

Maybe peeing on sticks can just add unnecessary pressure? :-(

I'm quite lucky in that we were already DTD at least once on a weekend, if not both days, and then also midweek, so in theory our normal pattern should be OK to conceive. I'm certainly not upping it unless it's proven not to work.

Fx you get him later.

OP posts:
Newbie2 · 24/06/2012 17:43

Yeah that's my problem I'm not exactly relaxed about it all. He does really want a baby but I think the pressure has got to him and his friend! It's my fault really as I was relaxed about DTD this weekend after the BFN news so I haven't been encouraging it enough! Now that I know OV dates I'm going to book us a night away for July to take the pressure off and distract me (obviously I won't tell him thats our window weekend)!!

I've still got OV pains! So much for thinking it would be a dull quick pain!

Maclairey · 24/06/2012 18:30

Hey Newbie just a quick reply as I am at a wedding. My ov pain lasted all day and all night. It varied from a stabbing pain to an aching pain.

I didn't tell my DH about the smiley, less pressure and more complicit in dtd. He doesn't know I am testing for ov, I don't think he needs to know and when I jumped him he didn't question my intentions.

Newbie2 · 24/06/2012 19:01

Thanks Mclairey good to know! Google is a big fat liar and so is my doctor actually now I come to think of it as both sources refer to OV as a light dull and veryshort cramping sensation! Obviously what they experience! You're very wise not to share details with DH...it is a total turnoff!

Finally DTD...fx!

Popinda · 24/06/2012 19:18

newbie I totally understand what you going through! I was in exactly same situation earlier this month! I thought that I'm ov earlier than I did so we dtd EVERY day for about 10 days ( that's hasn't happened for years!!) and when I actually ov my dh was so tired from all the dtd that we really struggled to do it! So if not pg this month I'm going to plan it better next month!

Newbie2 · 24/06/2012 19:35

Awww Pop snap!! You're right it's exactly what we did

I bet loads of ladies do it too...it's such an exciting thought at the start I guess it's easy to start DTD like rabbits at the beginning and then get emotional and exhausted when it's actually time! It sounds like Nicola has got it spot on :) need to take a leaf out of her fertility book

Oh well Pop at least we know our bodies more now and like you say we'll be ready for it next time! I've now read that you should do it 4-5 days before OV and I guess the sticks don't give us time for that (however the CBFM does give you a bigger window).

Thank goodness I've got you ladies to talk to!

NicolaHazel · 24/06/2012 19:51

That's really sweet of you, Newbie...but I'm just too exhausted from work to do any more! I'm quite rubbish at this TTC lark

In fact, I only started the midweek DTD recently so H2B would get used to the increase before TTC so he wouldn't feel pressured when we did start! :-)

And I felt a bit sorry for him as I know he wanted more sex and I always said I was too tired during the week! So we both win really.

I think relaxing is important, so I am trying that approach as much as possible. Trying. Badly, sometimes.

DulcetMoans · 24/06/2012 20:47

Thanks for the advice on potential dates nicola and red! I will go for a few days after AF. Something to look forward and count down to! Realistically it would be the week before if I thought I might be as I am impatient but its a target!

Newbie2 · 24/06/2012 20:48

Oh Nicola you're wise! You see I should hav introduced mid-week and then the pressure wouldn't be so high :) I will learn and do better ;)

Mclairey no wonder you had a sleepless night! This is definite sleep preventing pain!

NicolaHazel · 24/06/2012 20:52

We will see how wise I am...need to get up duffed with my method first!! It may not work.

I'm kind of cunning generally, so I just decided to sort things before it was an issue. Like a long term, strategic, military mission! :-) Who said romance is dead?!

It seems like we are all cursed with hideous OV pain :-(

OP posts:
Newbie2 · 25/06/2012 05:19

So yesterday I got a smiley face on my OV test and this morning nothing!! What is with that? Don't tell me I only have a LH surge on one day!! I'm really confused now, don't know if DTD tonight is going to help Confused or I've completely missed the boat!

Newbie2 · 25/06/2012 06:20

I still have OV pain even though my smiley face is no longer :(

NicolaHazel · 25/06/2012 06:32

I don't know enough about them to help. Sorry :-(

OP posts:
Popinda · 25/06/2012 06:58

Neither do I! Sorry, newbie! its possible that you just missed the surge before? Try to poas again later.
Poas this morning (and last night! I know I'm so weak and addicted! And secret poasing is so much fun!Smile) it was bfn! Sad but I'm sure I've seen the faintest line ever! Or was it just my wishful thinking? Maybe I just seen what I wanted to see!Sad trying not to get too excited as I think I'm heading for a big fall! Sad the only think is I never can get true first wee as I always go to toilet in the night about 2-3hours before I need to wake up, so I'm still hoping its too early. 10dpo now!

Newbie2 · 25/06/2012 08:00

Aww pop when is AF due?

Popinda · 25/06/2012 08:46

Wed or fri. My cycle is usually 30 day, which would mean af would arrive on wed, but last month is was 32, which mean af would arrive on Friday. I did ov late in this cycle, not till 19cd do I think is more likely to be Friday. Or not at all! That would be the best solution! Grin will prob test tonight again, if not def tomorrow morning!

Newbie2 · 25/06/2012 08:57

pop you could be the next BFP on this thread! baby dust hoping!

Done more research this morning...just when you think you've read everything. Apparently if you want a girl you should try DTD a few days before and if you want a boy try DTD on ovulation day. If that is true I'm getting a boy...not that I would mind either way Grin

PuppyMummy · 25/06/2012 09:42

Hi everyone, Can I join please. I just recently joined the June thread but most people have gone to July now. I'm testing on 30th!

We are on Cycle 3 TTC #1. First month I had all the symptoms, second month none, this month, one or two, but I have been ignoring them as I'm pretty sure its a mean trick, like month 1!!

We are not charting or anything and no sticks but I have all the right days organised in my diary. - Presuming i'm OV'ing when I think I am! (although we try and dtd through the cycle just in case!). As you said Nicola its a military operation!

Newbie2 · 25/06/2012 09:52

Welcome Puppy! Pop is also testing this weekend so you will have a few POAS buddies on here! Hope the week goes quickly for you :)

Few managed to DTD this morning before work so if there is an egg floating about it better be ready!!!

Popinda · 25/06/2012 10:09

newbie I hope so! We didn't have bfp for a long time on this thread!
Newbie, I can't wait till Saturday to test! I'm testing tomorrow, day after tomorrow, well everyday until I get either af or bfp! Really hoping for the later! Grin especially I seen this imaginary second line this morning!
Welcome puppy we are bunch of friendly ladies on here! All of us desperate to be pg! Smile

Maclairey · 25/06/2012 10:17

Hi Newbie the same happened to me with my smiley. I had it one day (tested in the morning and evening) then the next day it was gone. I think it picks up the surge and then you are supposed to ovulate within the next 36 hours or so I think. The LH surge is only a small window just before ovulation so it stands to reason that it would only be detected for 12 hours or so. That's my understanding of it anyway. I think I actually ovulated during the course of Saturday night although I was still having the occasional twinge yesterday it wasn't anywhere near as bad as Saturday.

I guess everyone is different though. We have dtd this morning but I think we have missed the boat now if weren't successful on Saturday.

Hope everyone is doing ok. Good luck with your testing Pop. Welcom Puppy.
