Due to the luck thread starters have, I thought I'd mark a place for the second thread as we are so chatty!

Here's to BFPs for us all :-)

Welcome Hopeful

Can't offer you any advice I am afraid as we are only on our first extremely long and tedious cycle of ttc.

I would say though if it will make you feel better and you are in a position to do it then go and have a fertility mot at a private clinic. I am sorry for your loss but at least you know that you can conceive so maybe try opks or look into a CBFM to pinpoint your peak fertility days.

Good luck to you.

alwayshopeful13 · 09/06/2012 22:08

Alwyn - agree with MN does seem like a massive deal such a huge network of info and people but so much useful stuff on here (even if lots of it isn't yet - sadly - relevant to me, but hopefully will be soon!)

Maclairey - your words are so wise, thank you x We're sort of concluding we're better off getting on with the fertility mot even if it brings less than great news....better to know and deal with it. Good luck with your own ttc efforts....sure it will all come good before long, all going well ;-)

Popinda · 09/06/2012 22:18

Welcome hopeful! It seems that you are doing all the right things and obviously you can conceive so you shouldn't be worried about your fertility too much. It is just taking longer than you thought. I know this is not much helpful in terms what you should do, but just wanted to say that we are all here (well almost all, some of the lucky ones got BFPs this monthSmile) in the same boat. Smile waiting for that second line to appear on hpt. Smile

Popinda · 09/06/2012 22:20

dulcet just do another test to see if the line will appear again. Smile good luck and fx! When is your af due?

Popinda · 09/06/2012 22:22

hopeful forgot to say that mn and especially this thread is very addictive. GrinGrin

QueenOfTheDrama · 09/06/2012 22:23

Welcome always Smile

pinkie I'm posting from my phone at the mo so can't check your photos just yet but will do in the morning after I've tested again (when will this lose it's novelty?!)

kick maclairy I do love browsing baby things online Grin but I've done loads of this over the last year or so of ttc, it feels weird now that it's happening! I'm sat here in a bit of a daze tbh.

Pinkie29 · 09/06/2012 22:25

Welcome alwayshopeful I echo what Maclairey says if it will make you feel better get the mot Smile

Maclairey - no I only started it this cycle, because my cycles were averaging 6 weeks it would have only gave us 8 chances a year at ttc, we somehow managed it cycle 4 but that took 6 months (felt like forever!) I took the epo due to lack of ewcm but believe it also helped greatly with pmt, they say you shod stop epo after ov as it can/might cause small contractions in the uterus which obv you don't want whilst ttc! I can't remember what the reason for stopping vitex was as there was conflicting info some said carry on others said stop so I just chose to stop.

You could try ov sticks? I think I've been a bit luckier than some catching my lh surge, this month was extremely lucky I got the smiley, cramps and ewcm all within 10hrs! We used conceive plus and put an instead cup in after then winkled/pinkled for a loooong time (it wasn't as regimented as it sounds honest!!)

alwayshopeful13 · 09/06/2012 22:26

Thanks Popinda :-) I have 4 days ish (cycle all awry since mc so never totally sure of dates since) and then I can do a HPT again so totally with you in waiting for the second line. Fingers crossed :-)

Pinkie29 · 09/06/2012 22:27

Queen I wish I knew I've tested everyday!! This morning the second line appeared straight away even before the control line! When we run out if sticks?!

alwayshopeful13 · 09/06/2012 22:50

Pinkie and Maclairey - I know this is a basic question so apols but is there a technical term the experts use for the old "fertility mot"? Like is there something specific I should be asking for or if I go to my GP and ask them to refer me to a consultant or gynae (is that how it works?!) will they just offer some standard tests? Sorry long question....if the answer isn't straightforward ignore me!

Popinda · 09/06/2012 22:53

Just researched epo and def getting one tomorrow! Thanks for the tip! Smile

Pinkie29 · 09/06/2012 23:04

Always - because I'd never been pregnant and had so many symptoms for pcos I went to my gp (turned on the water works male gp works every-time) and they referred me for a scan and said after that if there were any issues it would be blood tests

You could maybe tell him you want to check everything is in working order after your mmc as you've been ttc since with no luck? Sorry to hear about that btw must have been a very tough time for you both Sad

My dp went to his gp and exaggerated that we'd been trying over a year with no luck and he's tried in a previous relationship so he referred him to the hospital to give a sample, just saves you a lot of money if you can get referred by your gp instead of going private, have i made any sense at all there?

alwayshopeful13 · 09/06/2012 23:07

Pinkie - you make so much sense....totally get your meaning! Like your thinking :-) Thanks so much. Will let you all know how we get on x

Pinkie29 · 09/06/2012 23:09

Lol thank you, I'm convinced I have baby brain already tho! Wish you the best of luck Smile

alwayshopeful13 · 09/06/2012 23:11

PS Pinkie - thanks for your kind words re mmc. It's a cliche but in some ways it's made us stronger than we were though I don't feel like that every month when I get the bfn and feel like all the world's against us. Hey ho. Onwards and upwards to us all!

EchoDragon · 09/06/2012 23:18

I always look at baby stuff online. I even have a short list of prams for when I need one.

Hi hopeful welcome. Just to warn you you will end up with an addiction to peeing on sticks. Be it pg or ov.

alwyn · 09/06/2012 23:20

My short list of prams is very short. Like, um, one.

And totally chosen on a style point rather than a safety one. Should I be having children???

KickTheGuru · 09/06/2012 23:23

I have the prams shortlist too :)

Welcome hopeful. Head to the no symptoms. No Google. No sticks" thread . Trust me it will keep you sane.

Queen and pink - any symptoms yet? Grin

alwayshopeful13 · 09/06/2012 23:46

Echo - you're so right about the poas addiction. It's been driving me crazy (the wondering and constant overanalysing "oh but it was probably neg because of X or Y, maybe if I wait another day etc etc") - and this probably why the thread kicktheguru suggests sounds so appealing....see you there guru!

QueenOfTheDrama · 10/06/2012 00:06

kick symptoms!! Its completely mad that thats what they are now!! Very sore and swollen boobs, very tired, feel quite emotional, hungry a lot, thats about it for now though.

What are all the prams you ladies like? I love talking baby stuff. I've had my eye on an icandy pram for a while now Smile

pinkie I still have about 15 tests left! This is going to go on for a while I reckon! But looking forward to getting strong lines on the cheapies!

alwyn · 10/06/2012 00:56

I want a silver cross one. Have done since being a little girl!

Newbie2 · 10/06/2012 04:21

I'm feeling really down this weekend. Three good friends have announced their pregnancies and I should be over the moon (I am) but I am finding it very difficult. I'm starting to feel really stressed and scared that it won't happen so quickly for me as it did for them as my body is showing no signs of returning back to normal post pill. I'm no longer feeling bloated or craving sugary foods like I did last week and my hay fever is so bad I would happily eat a whole pack of packets without worrying because I know I'm not pregnant regardless of what my doctor suggested and on top of it im feeling really tender down there after all the DTD lately and my TTC journey has only just begun :( Sorry to have a big moan but I'm hoping writing it down helps as I've got to some how snap out of it!!!

Newbie2 · 10/06/2012 04:45

Just worked out with the help of due date calculator that one of my friends is not being honest when she said that she fell pregnant straight away from coming off the pill because it actually took her 4 months. A relief to know that I'm not that abnormal after all! I know what you're thinking I'm obsessed and insane to beat myself up in cycle 1...it's just so easy to stress!!

EchoDragon · 10/06/2012 05:52

Aww sorry to hear your feeling down Newbie. TTC is a hugely emotional rollercoaster. I find myself almost in tears sometimes over such silly things this week. Last week I could have cried at my BFN.

We're all in the same boat and are here to hold your hands, offer virtual tissues, chocolate and wine as appropriate. I have several pg friends at the moment. Seems like everyone is pg esp when we're all so desperate for our BFP. Don't be too hard on yourself. When we have our BFP's we'll wonder what all the fuss was about.

EchoDragon · 10/06/2012 05:58

Hmm peak wise I love the Icandy, Silver Cross surfer and the ABC. My friend had the ABC I like it cause her 2 end a half year old is still comfy in it. But I just love the Icandy peach it's lush. Seems a lot of people find it too small for a toddler tho. If I fork out that much I want a pram
useable for several years by dragon jnr.

Mr dragon will probably put his foot down at spending so much tho.
