Have a breastfed baby or toddler? Why not try for another one?! Who needs sleep anyway?

Come join us whether you are waiting for your first period in months or are are a few months into trying.

Sorry to hear about the bfn and the pox! Sad
My grandad died this afternoon so not a good day all round Sad
We def need some good news soon!

OneLittleToddlingTerror · 05/01/2013 06:52

Sorry to hear about your grandad jakey.

Jakeyblueblue · 06/01/2013 11:02

Thanks terror. Life goes on I guess Smile
Cd 11 today and just starting to get some ewcm so have instructed the hubby that we need to resume baby making activities.
Hoping ov isn't too far away Wink

BigBoPeep · 06/01/2013 18:40

sorry to hear that jakey :(

nothing to note here other than Project Solids is going pretty well, and I dunno if it's a coincidence, but she's been genuinely 'sleeping through' i.e: not waking for a bf at all for approx 7hrs Shock...

OneLittleToddlingTerror · 06/01/2013 21:23

BigBoPeep what did you do to get your LO to eat? Mine has gone quite fussy now and seem to survive on carbs.

On the chicken pox side, I'm not sure it's supposed to be such a non-illness. Today is day 3. She looks terrifying. But if its not for the spots, you cant even tell she is ill. She is still her happy playful self. Her appetite was gone before the spots appeared. But it's back to normal yesterday already. Her sleep is bad though.

My AF was due today but has not arrived. I think I will poas tomorrow after work!

OneLittleToddlingTerror · 07/01/2013 07:22

Woke up, feeling very sure in pregnant, poas, and its a negative Sad. Not sure why it is called a bfn when it's just an empty window Grin. So now my AF is one day late. I might have ovulated late or maybe I tested too early. But 1 day after AF due cant be too early isn't it.

Jakeyblueblue · 07/01/2013 13:48

Sad terror.
I've had this two cycles. It sucks. It may still be too early if you are testing less than 14 days after ovulation regardless of when AF was due. When my LP was only 10 days, obviously I was always expecting AF 10 days after ov but in reality there was still at least 4 more days AF could have arrived in. Implantation may take 12 days! I think if you have waited 14 days though, it would be positive by now.
In both cases, if ovulated later. Sad

BigBoPeep · 07/01/2013 16:17

terror - i've given her a bit of time (9mo now): mum's been badgering me about solids since 4mo, but she wasn't interested in anything other than play and teeny amounts until 8mo, and it happened quite suddenly. now i'm just not being lazy giving her the option more and if she doesn't like something, not trying to get more in, but accepting it and moving on to the next thing so it doesnt sour her completely to the idea of accepting food from me. also letting her get a bit peckish rather than going for the boob straightaway.

she likes yoghurt, but hates rusk with milk, so thats where the dairy/fat&protein are coming from. oh, and tiny bits of cheese i just pop into her mouth rather than making a meal of it iyswim. she loves custard creams biscuits courtesy of grandma , so dry reduced sugar rusks are taking the place of them on the whole...and she LOVES a bit of steak to gnaw on. veg and pureed stuff in general she's not fussed, although she really enjoyed some home made tomato and carrot soup i made last night. if i'm eating, she wants some of mine, but if it's in a babyfood jar, don't even bother!

OneLittleToddlingTerror · 07/01/2013 16:58

BigBoPeep didn't know your LO is so young! You are a brave woman to ttc Grin.

Mine was a great eater at 9mo. She's grown into a fussy toddler. Nursery told me she ate everything every day, but I just don't know how. She was sent home on Friday with the nursery lunch and tea, and she mainly just picked on it. Maybe they have a different definition to 'good eater' from me.

BigBoPeep · 09/01/2013 22:28

ah, fussy toddler, not got there yet!

Our biggest problem is nipple biting Angry she's been good recently but today has been so naughty again. If I say 'NO', she laughs, if I plonk her on the floor she just thinks 'oh great, thanks for setting me loose, mum!'

She's barely had any milk today, and not a massive amount of food really so not really sure what's going on - seems cheerful and happy otherwise though? Maybe she's self weaning? Confused can happen young.

As to ttc this early, I realise I'm mad, but I just wanna get the pregnancies all done and dusted, and (whispers) I haven't found the baby bit that tough really. I look after a LOT of animals, and it's kinda just like that! toddlerdom and teenagerdom scare me a lot more.

MrsHuxtable · 10/01/2013 14:34

Can I just ask if and what pre-conception vitamins everyone is taking? I'm really confused because Pregnacare has the Conception ones but then they are different from the ones for breastfeeding mums.

I went to our local pharmacy to ask and the guy didn't want to sell me the conception ones as too many vitamins would go through in my breastmilk. He did however give a cheap, normal vitamin pack which I thought odd as it does contain Vit A and states that you shouldn't take it when ttc. [worried]

OneLittleToddlingTerror · 10/01/2013 14:49

MrsHuxtable I'm using the pregnacare his&hers conception one. I didn't know you can't use it when bf Shock

MrsHuxtable · 10/01/2013 15:11

I don't know if that is true. It's only what the pharmacist said but I wonder how much of a clue he actually has due to giving me Vit A!
The His and hers is what we used for DC1 so would like to use again if I know it's safe.

Jakeyblueblue · 11/01/2013 09:18

I take boots conception supplements plus 50 mg vit b6 to extend luteal phase. When I first started ttc again I compared the contents of pregnacare conception and pregnacare breastfeeding and they are pretty much the same but the conception one has more calcium and stuff. I now take the boots own because they are way cheaper and were on 3 for 2.
Cd 16 here and hoping I didn't ovulate yesterday Confused other than this am, we dtd on tues am which Is prob too long ago if it was yesterday. Had some cramps last night but not as bad a usual. Will soon know as the cm will dry up today if it was yesterday.
I've used the moon cup this am though so fingers crossed. Wink

Jakeyblueblue · 11/01/2013 09:20

I've just re read your post. Pregnacare conception is def ok to take whilst bf. It says somewhere in the box that it provides support from conception, through to pregnancy and bf. don't worry Smile

MrsHuxtable · 11/01/2013 10:34

That's great. Thank you! I shall get myself some of the Pregnacare Conception then.

We're only ttc from late March onwards but I'm preparing to give myself the best chance.

I'm only on my second cycle and the first one was 42 days so I'm wondering whether I'm ovulating at all.
I got the cheap sticks of Amazon but didn't test consistetly so far. CD 17 yesterday, I tested and it was negative. Think I will keep going this months though.
It's all very frustrating.

I'm wondering if I should start temperature charting but then I never get a 3 hour stretch of uninterrupted sleep before getting up.

OneLittleToddlingTerror · 11/01/2013 10:40

MrsHuxtable I read somewhere on the internet that it takes a couple of months on the vitamins to improve the swimmers. I don't know if it's true or a bunch of internet bs. But it's definitely worth thinking ahead like you are. I like to improve my chances even if it's a bit loopy. My theory is as long as it doesn't cause actual harm, it's worth a try. Grin.

OneLittleToddlingTerror · 11/01/2013 10:41

And as for the temp, I never got anywhere with it. I tried again this cycle but it's all over the place. I didn't have a proper bbt thermometer with a memory function though. And like you, I just don't get 3 hour of uninterrupted sleep, ever.

MrsHuxtable · 11/01/2013 10:50

Yes, I read that as well. It takes 3 months from sperm production to it actually being aehm used so now is a good time to improve DH's lifestyle. But then he's a young one (only 26) so I have high hopes for his swimmers. Hahaha.

Jakeyblueblue · 11/01/2013 13:21

No I gave up temping days ago as they were all over the place due to lack of uninterrupted sleep. I think cm and other fertile signs are more reliable when bf. I've given up opk's too as had too many false positives where I didn't ovulate at all. Smile

MrsHuxtable · 11/01/2013 14:22

Oh, what other signs am I looking for other than CM?

Jakeyblueblue · 11/01/2013 15:26

I think everyone's different but I get sore nipples, so much so, it's really uncomfortable to feed and I also get ov pain. It's like a constipated, bloated type of pain. Having said that though, I'm not Preg so I can't be that good at it Grin
My mate who is now 16 weeks, conceived whilst bf and she had none of the above, not even cm, she just went by opk's. I think it depends on what suits you. Smile

jennimoo · 11/01/2013 16:01

Hello. There are different strengths of opks too. I only get +ve with the standard ones if I don't drink anything from lunch til late afternoon. Found that the sensitive ones give me a better result with less dehydration! Just gave it an hour ish of not drinking....

Still pg here and hoping the mooncup works for others! Think DD may wean as down to a couple of super quick feeds and I suddenly feel ready to stop. Feel sad thinking about it though.

OneLittleToddlingTerror · 11/01/2013 16:22

Hi jennimoo I think will stopping the bf too if I get pregnant. We are on one bedtime feed but DD doesn't seem too bothered. I plan to only do close to the recommended 2 years anyway. I think I will feel more inclined to continue if DD is a boob monster.

Jakeyblueblue · 11/01/2013 17:01

Ds is on the boob all the time at the moment. He turned 18 months a week back. Hoping its to do with teething and tails off. Also hoping I get Preg and he weans himself so I don't have to go it my self Hmm
Good to hear you are doing well jenni! Do you think dd is dropping feeds because of the being Preg? She used to feed alot more didn't she?
Well I think I ov'd yesterday Sad as cm seems to be less today, which means last dtd was 48 hrs before. Think that's pushing it a bit to be lucky this cycle. My body may surprise me though. Has done before and still got some cramps and sore nips.
Getting bored of this ttc business now. Just want to be preggo!!! Sad
