AF due around 9th Feb - been feeling sick for a week. No signs (tender breasts, bloatness...) that AF is coming, tested today as it's around 2-3 or so days before AF is due - and test was negative. The way I'm feeling in myself - already gone off coffee, feel sick, some foods just not nice anymore etc. - I was convinced I was pg - could the test be positive in a few days or does it mean if I didn't test positive now, I won't in a few days either.
The test was a Boots one btw. (£6.99 for pack of 2)

Well, bleeding is now pretty much like a period. GP saw the test and says it's def. a positive one - but I need to test in a week again to see if I could still be pg or if it was false alarm. She says chances are of either a false alarm altogether or early miscarriage which would have cleared up with this blood. I'm feeling OK so no meds needed and she seems confident it's nothing serious. I'm just grateful it's nothing bad either way. Aparently some people get false positive on or around the day of missed period as hormone levels are all over the place. Weird stuff. Will keep trying as if nothing happened, so wish us luck for next month!

Good to hear you are ok mrswood...and sorry about the bleeding. Enjoy your birthday tomorrow and try not to worry about things. Glad GP made you feel much happier. Let us know how you are getting on.

FirstNikki · 11/02/2006 09:05

Good Luck MrsWood glad gp was good with you.

I wish someone had told me about the niggling pains being common - I spent seven hours in A&E at 6 weeks pregnant sobbing thinking it was an ectopic. But no, very normal and perfectly beautiful dd 8 mths later

Piffle · 11/02/2006 14:07

I had an ectopic 2 days after af due date
Had small bornw discharge, no pain (6pm)
By 4am the next morning I was in surgery 2 hrs away from dying with massive internal bleeding
While it most likely isn;t anything serious it pays to be aware of how quickly things can change so be alert!
A quick bloodtest is all it takes to identify an ectopic type pregnancy...

This is now getting more and more strange - 2 days into it - bleeding has stopped. My AF's are usually 4-5 days. I will have to test tomorrow or next day and see what happens - if GP is right, it should be neg. but I'm wondering what's happening...

how are you mrs wood??

MrsWood · 15/02/2006 11:33

Well, haven't tested yet - pg tests I bought on ebay haven't arrived, presumably lost in the post. Lady will be resending them for me today but I will probably be going to Savers this afternoon, when I go to return some dvds to Blockbusters, and get some tests anyway, as I've waited longer than I wanted to. I'm feeling fine though, feeling sicky stopped when the bleeding stopped. GP is convinced it was a very early m/c but wants me to do a test anyway. I've never had m/c so early, so i don't really know how I'm supposed to be feeling physicaly, but apart from 2 day headache, I feel ok.

mrs wood, do a test this afternoon, i will be keeping fingers crossed for you

MrsWood · 15/02/2006 11:39

Thanks, but I'm not sure what I'd like the test to say. I'm kond of hoping for a negative result, as after beelding etc. I don't want to worry about the rest of pg. Bleeding can never be a brilliant sign - especially if it's not just implantation. I'm quite a worry guts anyway and with the stitch coming up at 13 weeks of pg, I'm worried enough
