Hello ladies, come and share the tedious 2ww with us!

OP posts:
madnad1 · 28/02/2012 17:03

Hi there everyone.
Just joined mumsnet today, so please bear with me as Im very green at this!!!!
I have been following this thread (and loving it) for the past few days whilst I endure my own 2ww!
I was expecting af today, but nothing yet except a bfn (grr)

Anyway I thought some of you might be interested in my own pregnancy test stats...
(sorry if I give anyone false hopes)
Here goes....

Baby 1- positive test 2 days before period

baby 2- bfp the day af due

baby 3- Now this is where it gets interesting!!!!
I never have regular cycles, my longest at that point had been 35 days. So I tested with a cheap test on cd37 very obvious bfn. Carried on having extreme period cramps, on and off, day and night until I finally got a bfp on cd44!!!! It was so faint, even then, that I had to have a blood test to confirm!!! That baby was my 2yr old sitting beside me now!

Soooo... you never really know until that dreaded toilet visit that confirms yr worst fears of af's arrival!!!

Good luck to you all, I will keep following, as Im desperate to see your bfp's (almost as much as my own!!!)
xxxxx

DesperateHousewife21 · 28/02/2012 17:15

Welcome madnad to MN and this thread!

So this will be DC4 for you? Keep us updated with things its always great to hear a BFP and we're all in the same boat and know how disheartening it can be when you get a BFN.

Im getting obsessive with the symptom spotting now, even googling constipation in early preg ffs

sedgieloo · 28/02/2012 17:26

Hi to everyone waiting...Just want to say, I felt so sad when I read your messages in my lunch break winkly and desperate I hope you get the news you are waiting for soon. Just to add with my dd I did not get a positive test until I was 5 days late, my dating scan put it later than that, so agonising as it is you just never know.

A big congratulations to latestarter!!!

DesperateHousewife21 · 28/02/2012 17:39

Ah sedgie thanks! It's just random ramblings from me really! Getting whats in my head written down seems to help.

Quick question, my period app says my cd28 is next ties and AF is due the next day so cd29, is that right or is AF due on day 28?

DesperateHousewife21 · 28/02/2012 17:39

Next tues**

PogoBob · 28/02/2012 19:11

Hey all - sorry everyone is down, there is still hope Smile

I now I'm not strictly out of the running but really don't hold out any hope for this month, definate AF symptoms.

Thanks for that post madnad, I know you are right but I'm a little neurotic.

First pregnancy I didn't get a BFP until I was 4 days late but that ended in mc. With DD I got a BFP the day before AF. Third pregnancy I got a BFP the day after AF was due and it turned out to be a chemical pregnancy. In my mind a late BFP means my body won't hold onto the pregnancy Sad

I have baileys cheesecake for the bathroom party!!

pipsicles · 28/02/2012 20:34

Can I bring profiteroles and fruit?

I have a day off work tomorrow and am almost certain I am gong to spend the whole time obsessing! AF is due sometime before the end of the week, and I only have one test that is in date, so am desperately trying to hold off and just wait for AF to come. I think Saturday is going to be my day. Plus, DH will be around to help me celebrate/commiserate!

I had another temperature spike at the weekend, making my cycle a triphasic one, which is apparently a good sign, and then I was sick this morning...! This evening, I feel like I must be pg, but I admitted to my DH that I don't really want to say if I think I am to 'real' people because I will feel like a right tit when AF shows!!! Blush

Sorry for going on.

Hope others are feeling more positive, or will do soon!

backwardpossom · 28/02/2012 21:00

Ooh winkly I'm halfway through a French course with the OU. I had NO French when I started and am fairly chuntering along now. Love it :)

ellesabe · 28/02/2012 21:12

What are all you nutjobs doing hanging out in the loo??

OP posts:
pipsicles · 28/02/2012 21:13

I've just been doing some crazy googling Blush and found that morning sickness can start pretty much from the word go and that to actually be sick before AF is due can be quite common! Am v surprised as I thought it must be too early...

I do wish I'd give myself a break though - why do I keep winding myself up?!?!

Winkly · 28/02/2012 21:22

elle we can only, ahem, check ourselves in the loo. It's getting a bit crowded with people and food and gin!

Hi madnad and good luck!

sedgie thank you. I'm not totally obsessed, I promise! And it'll all be ok, whatever happens. I'm lucky to have a very wonderful husband who tries his best to understand.

possum I sort of have the idea of doing a second undergraduate degree with OU. I hated my first degree and my result reflected that. I was thinking combined English and French but want to get my French to a level where I could start with the intermediate course - I feel I know too much to spend all that money on one starting from scratch, iykwim. Well done on yours!

So, no sign of AF. I had to ask for a test from behind the counter in a tesco express in a very studenty area, and in my scruff gear reckoned the old lady behind the counter thought I was A Student In Trouble :) Will test in the morning with FMU if AF doesn't appear overnight.

pipsicles · 28/02/2012 21:36

Looking forward to hearing the result Winkly - good luck! :)

cherrypiew3 · 28/02/2012 21:39

< takes a drink of herbal tea and joins the toilet party>

Well after my BFN this morning I have obsessed all day every little twinge is a pg sign. I had a shower earlier this evening shouted DH shoved my boobs in his face (much to his delight) and asked if they looked bigger/darker they don't.

Winkly lots of luck for the morning hope you get that BFP.

cherrypiew3 · 28/02/2012 21:40

Oh and welcome MadnadSmile

vintageclasp · 29/02/2012 06:43

Hi ladies, I am in my first cycle of ttc and AF is supposed to be due March 1/2 ... other than dull pain in my boobs and some cramping (symptoms I have always experienced before AF, anyway) I have not had any other early pregnancy symptoms....

I don't want to take any home pregnancy tests until my AF is truly late... meanwhile the wait is truly excruciating... am worried that I left things too late... esp. I am now in my mid-30s... and my gynae has been showing me some stats... Confused

Really hope for a BFP this time so I don't have to go for further (costly) fertility tests... :(

I am praying now that AF won't come... getting edgy and going to the loo to check everytime I think I feel 'wet'... perhaps I need to pray for my sanity too... :o

How I wish we could actually see what's going on inside....... :) :)

DesperateHousewife21 · 29/02/2012 07:12

Welcome vintage Come and join the toilet party!

Dtd last night but suspect I've OV already do it might be a bit late. Poor dh he was so tired after travelling 180 odd miles and I jump on him as soon as ds is in bed!

Really really hope I've done enough this month.

Winkly · 29/02/2012 07:30

No sign of AF this morning so tested but BFN.

I shall wear my nicest white pants today to coax it out, and will test again on Friday if no sign.

vintageclasp · 29/02/2012 07:46

I have only started learning about things like FAM, CM, CP and started basal temping on February 5...

my partner is wondering why I am 'taking things so seriously'... so instead of badgering him, I have decided to share my moods, fears and anxieties with other women who will instinctively understand exactly how I feel...

It's tough juggling a full-time career and this.... Hmm

baby dust to all....

pipsicles · 29/02/2012 08:05

Welcome Vintage! This thread is absolutely intended to stop us driving our DPs and DHs crazy and to stop them realising that we are crazy and obsessed!

To you, and anyone else who is concerned they left it a bit late, there are plenty of women out there who are having their babies later. At 28, I am the youngest of my group of mothers by 4 years, which I was really surprised about! The oldest of my friends is 41, and only 4 years younger than my own mum! So please don't automatically think it is too late - it might take you a while, yes, but it can take anyone a while, at any stage of life, and unfortunately, it seems that the more we stress about it, the longer it is likely to take.

All of that said, I like to obsess and over-analyse as much as the next woman (just take a look at my posts from yesterday - crazy!) and we will all quite happily listen to nothing you have to say/moan/worry/obsess about and you can do it all safe in the knowledge that you won't be judged! It's great!

Good luck with it all! :)

pipsicles · 29/02/2012 08:07

*ANYTHING! Whoops! What a heartless cow that typo made me sound!!! Sorry! Blush

misslaughalot · 29/02/2012 08:11

Have just found out that a 4th friend is pregnant.

And one's having twins. That's 5 babies all due within 6 weeks of the due date of the baby I miscarried...too much to cope with...

pipsicles · 29/02/2012 09:16

Oh misslaughalot, that must be SO difficult for you to deal with :( Much love and sympathy sending your way

backwardpossom · 29/02/2012 09:36

How hard that must be for you, misslaughalot :(

AF due on Sat (I think) but have no AF-type symptoms. Of course, this means I have no PG symptoms either! Can't win! I had the most bizarre dream last night that my boobs were really really sore and I wouldn't let anyone near me! DS jumped on me (in the dream) and I was screaming. So weird!

DesperateHousewife21 · 29/02/2012 10:00

misslaughalot it's so hard when friends announce their pregnancies. Really hope it happens for you v soon

I feel nothing, no signs and it doesn't help that the preg app assumes I'm preg every month even though I told it I'm not, it's saying I'm 3 weeks Hmm

vintageclasp · 29/02/2012 10:08

Dear misslaughalot, I understand how you feel... my BFF didn't even plan for a baby but got a BFP even though she says she and her partner hardly BD... She is now into her 10-11th week...

Every time she whines about her m/s and other pregnancy symptoms I feel envious and hope I can join her soon....

More baby dust!! :)
