Welcome aboard ladies.
Please be seated, you may undo your seatbelts as soon as you see the SWI sign light up.

I'll be coming round with cake, biscuits and wine.

Come on girls, we can do it this month.

Heads held high and legs akimbo, off we go.

Nice one on the positive opk chunky, you can stop worrying and swi to your hearts content now Smile Hopefully the house things will sort themselves out just as easily.

Can any of you lovely ladies give me some advice on opks please. I am using the internet cheapies and as far as I can tell have not yet had a positive. However last cycle on cd27 I did have a very dark line, not as dark as the control I don't think but it was very obvious. I went on to have a 41 day cycle so that ties right in with my lp (if I do have a 14 day one but I'm not even sure I do!). Anyway on CD15 this month I had the same dark colour line. Dark but not a positive I would say. On CD16 I forgot to test (damn) and every day since I've had no lines at all. I do have some clearblue opks and I really now wish I tested later on cd15 with one to check if I did have a positive but I didn't. Hindsight is such a wonderful thing!

I have very varied cycles ranging on avearage from 30-42 days so really could ov at any time. I will carry on using them this month as they are so cheap I don't mind wasting them say to speak. I'm trying to look at cm as well but just seems creamy all the time to me. I can't really chart as I wake at such duifferent times due to DH's shift I don't think it will give me an accuarte picture.

Anyway sorry I'm rambling now but do you think this is a near to a positive I will get? May get a CBFM next month to see if that helps. Thanks for reading!

Elizadoesdolittle I have to say that I count a line about as dark but not darker as a positive. My LH surge is so short that I'd never catch it otherwise, temping seems to agree with the reading.

Pipbin · 27/02/2012 21:18

Because QTPie in the rest of our life if we want something and work really hard at it, we get it, or something like it. If we don't then we can see where we went wrong and can change it.
TTCing is luck, and no matter what effort we put in we can't guarantee a result, even if we do everything right.

Elizadoesdolittle · 27/02/2012 22:05

Thanks pipbin. I will go by your wise words and assume the same Smile hmmm so that means I am in the dreaded tww then. Yikes!

Crazytictac · 28/02/2012 09:36

Must be nerve wracking chunky, really hope you get a buyer soon. Your agent any good? We want to move too ( same reason as you and this area is a bit of a dive) but no where near ready yet.

Ooh, really hope this is your month QT and Eliza, the 2ww seems to go on forever eh? And wise words Pippin, DH keeps telling me " to relax, it will happen" but no guarantees and easier said than done!

cherrypiew3 · 28/02/2012 10:07

Well I could take no more and POAS this morning BFNSad holding onto the hope that it is just to early to test. AF not due until saturday.

Elizadoesdolittle · 28/02/2012 10:39

Thanks crazy I've already said I wouldn't test until 18th march as I have irregular cycles I wanted to wait until AF really was late. But as it appears I ov'd quite early this cycle I might not hold out that long. The 18th seems so far away.

Try not to be too despondent cherry it's early days yet. I'd wait and test again at the weekend. Hopefully a BFP will come your way then.

PandaWatch · 28/02/2012 10:40

So on Sunday I got my first positive OPK (first time using clearblue digital ovulation kit, had been using ebay sticks before then). I'd convinced myself I wasn't ovulating so when I saw the smiley face I nearly fell over with shock! Had DTD early hours of Saturday, Saturday afternoon then straight after +ve OPK on Sunday, yesterday morning and this morning so I guess we've done all we can and it's just sunk in that I'm now officially in my 2ww Shock

PickledHegg · 28/02/2012 10:58

Hey everyone, I jumped on before take off and have been out cold resting my eyelids since Grin

Can see you've got through 6 lovely pages already so I'll grab a cuppa and stay awake for the rest of the flight catch up.

Just a quick update of where I am...on CD9, should Ovulate this Sunday (I always get very obvious EWCM)....so have been SWI every other day recently, planning to up this to everyday (May even consider using his tool without consent if he's too tired Wink ) as of Thursday through to Tuesday.

Some tips on how to be patient for the 2ww would be super?

Last month was our Cycle #1, but I was really poorly around Ov and wouldn't let him near me, except for once, then I totally convinced myself I was pregnant and symptom spotted and used 15 tests Blush (cheapys off ebay) until AF arrived 3 days late! I know it was probably hormones, but I was devestated disappointed. Then I reality checked and realised it can take take a heck of a lot longer than 1 cycle!!!

QT and Eliza best of luck for the 2ww :) soooo hard to get through it with sanity still intact.

Pip agree with Crazy very wise words, no control is hard, espeically if any of you guys are a control freak like me lol.

Cherry aww, so disheartening to see a BFN, try and stick it out to test saturday, got my fingers and toes crossed for you, patience is a virtue apparently...

xx

PandaWatch · 28/02/2012 12:07

I have an OPK/2ww question - if I got a +ve OPK on Sunday does that mean my 2ww started then or would it be approximately 48 hours after? I know it doesn't make a massive difference although 48 minutes seems like a lifetime at the moment, let alone 48 hours but if anyone can help me work out my 2ww better it would be very much appreciated!

PickledHegg · 28/02/2012 12:28

Hi Panda

I'm not entirely certain, but didn't want to leave you unanswered while I'm on here, but I would've thought 2ww is straight away?

Pipbin · 28/02/2012 12:50

It depends Panda. My temps say I ov'd two days after my positive.

OP posts:
PandaWatch · 28/02/2012 12:59

Thanks Pickled and Pipbin. I haven't really thought that much about 2wws on the last couple of cycles as I didn't get any +ve OPKs so just waited for AF's latest arrival date to test (or got pre-empted by AF prior to testing Sad)

Chunkychicken · 28/02/2012 13:39

I have spent much of the morning doing 'period maths' on my app or in my head. I got my first OPK +ve yesterday evening & keep wondering if DTD Sun a.m. & Mon night will be enough, or if DTD again tonight will be worth it. Tempted to anyway, belt & braces type approach. Also concerned that we should have DTD Sat as well; although in the past we've only needed to DTD on day 14 to get a BFP... Sun was day 14 so who know's??!!! I say this in empathy of your situation Pandawatch!!!

I have never used the OPKs before this cycle but wanted to check that my hormones were sort of ok after the chem pg. Now I'm not sure they haven't just made me more anxious Confused

This plane is getting a bit full. I hope I don't get shunted down to economy!!! Grin

PandaWatch · 28/02/2012 14:32

I'd go for it if I were you Chunky. Hell, my +ve was Sunday afternoon and I'm considering one last shot this evening! I've decided to orchestrate a "shock and awe" offensive against my non-pregnant state this cycle so have been trying to bombard my eggs with as many swimmers as DH can muster! Grin

Chunkychicken · 28/02/2012 15:36

Love it Pandawatch Grin

TheNewMrsC · 28/02/2012 20:16

panda I count my 2ww from ov day if that's any help??

Ok I have a (tmi) question ! Twice I've went to the bathroom today and there have been bright red spots of blood . Thought it might be implantation but I'm sure that's either pink or brown ? Plus I'm only 8 dpo so would that be too early for implantation ? Thanks guys Smile

Beakersbelle · 28/02/2012 20:41

MrsC I don't know about the colour that implantation bleeding's supposed to be (I've never had it with my pregnancies) but I'm pretty certain 8 dpo is actually the average day for implantation - so sounds promising!

Chunkychicken · 28/02/2012 21:19

I agree with beakers, MrsC, I think implantation takes between 6-10 on average. Could be a good sign :)

TheNewMrsC · 28/02/2012 21:27

Thanks beaker and chunky !! i had implantation bleeding with dd but it was pink and gloopy and it was accompanied by excruciating cramps that made me vomit !! wasnt trying this dd though so i dont know when it was but i think it was just before af should have appeared.

just do it tonight chunky you might as well :) have some fun sex rather than swi and maybe you will relax a bit - even if it is just for 5 seconds ;)

TheNewMrsC · 28/02/2012 21:28

lol @ Panda !! Grin

CandyPop · 28/02/2012 22:16

sheepishly stepping on

After months of lurking around on Mumsnet and WTTC i cant resist anymore and wondered if you ladies are willing to welcome one more on this busy bumbling packed flight? :)

This is my cycle #1 cd17, AF due 13th March, trying for my first (how am i doing with the lingo??!)

Still feel a bit under-educated on the whole conception process compared to some other ladies on here......Found myself browsing one of the aisle in Boots today looking at pregnancy tests.... to only realise that you can only test a couple days before AF is due :-/ On the bright side, I just worked out what 2WW is!!! i guess i am a 2WWer (..is that right?! ) lol

I agreed with DH that we will take the lets just see what happens approach for the first 6 months.... but i find myself secretly obssessing over it!! I dont want to scare off DH , but i cant help researching baby names (although to be fair , this has been in discussing for the pass 5 years with DH shooting down every single name i come up with!).

DH doesnt really know, but the increased in 'activities' the last week is due to coincide with my fertile days (currently just using an iphone app... not sure how accurate it is)....... I also find myself , cunningly trying to entice DH to DTD with all sorts.... new sexy underwear, new positions even dabble in a bit of dirty talk Blush !!!! I feel slightly deceitful but i'm sure dh is not stupid but just enjoying my new found enthuaism in the bedroom!!

Anyone else finding that they have to be more inventive in the bedroom in order to keep DTD so regularly?! and (although i know the answer) anyone else find that this is the only thing they can think about??!!!! (just want some reasurrance that i'm not going crazy!)

WOW.... just realised how long my post is! SORRY!!! thats what happens when you've been lurking around for so long!!! :)

Pipbin · 28/02/2012 22:28

Welcome aboard CandyPop
Admitting that you are TTCing is a bit like admitting to being an alcoholic isn't it. It seems real when you say it out loud.

Oh and Chunky, we are all in first class on this flight, there is no economy.
