Angels and Rainbows - The beauty of a rainbow does not negate the ravages of the storm. But it can provide colour and hope.

“Rainbow Babies” is the understanding that the beauty of a rainbow does not negate the ravages of the storm. When a rainbow appears, it doesn’t mean the storm never happened or that the family is not still dealing with its aftermath. What it means is that something beautiful and full of light has appeared in the midst of the darkness and clouds. Storm clouds may still hover but the rainbow provides a counter balance of color, energy and hope.

Miaalexandrasmumy xxxx hugs xx my first visit to our GP after Georgie died he thought I was there to have a coil fitted as all he'd recieved from the hospital with regards to discharge summary was a letter with my details & IUD ( intra uterine death) but of course he assumed I was having an inta uterine device fitted.
Xxxx

CheeseandGherkins · 26/01/2012 10:46

whatever really glad you scan went well, I was also put back dates early on in this pregnancy, I ovulated later than the "norm" so that explained it for me.

Miasmummy (hugs)

Angel good luck to Ant for the interviews, hope something comes up good.

razz hope you're doing ok still xx

Blue glad the uti has gone. Fingers crossed for you this month xx

shakey 35 weeks! Wow, you'll be meeting your baby soon!

fanjo that sounds an odd reaction! How are you getting on?

Too I had my second lot of iron but didn't get the third as I asked for a blood test first due to the horrendous cannula attempts to get the iron in before. They tried 7 times in total over the two lots and I'm needle phobic as it is! My iron levels went up to 8.5 as of Monday and they said it would take a couple of weeks for the iron to fully take effect so I'm expecting another rise in the mean time, plus I'm eating as well as I can and taking lots of spatone too. How are things with you now?

Have the consultants tomorrow morning so I'm hoping to find out some more about a delivery date, I'm so on edge I can barely think straight. Sleeping is getting hard too, keep waking and I can't stop thinking about everything and worrying about something going wrong. Baby seems happy still though, ctgs going well and movements are good, it's just me that isn't coping with it! Dh is feeling the same as me too. I'll be 33 weeks on Saturday so I think it's a good stage to get to now, anything else is a bonus. My sugar levels are still up and down, really odd, so I'm not sure what they'll think about that either.

Also worried about ds1 now, he's been looking so ill for a few weeks, pale, no energy, bags under his eyes, bruising easily etc so took him to the drs yesterday and they did a blood test. We have a follow up appointment for tomorrow but I'll phone later and see if the results are in. Really worried that it's something serious and the dr seemed concerned too.

Anyway, hope everyone's doing ok and hanging in there xxx

Whatevertheweather · 26/01/2012 14:40

Thank you all for your reassurances. I feel much more positive today. Not sure what was up yesterday I had 'the doom' I think. Went to bed at 8pm last night think I needed it. Bloody hell it is going to be a long 7 months! Consultant was so lovely and reassuring, she really put me at ease and it's so nice not to have to explain what happened with Erin and she seems to totally understand how hard this will be. Lovely lovely lady. Today I am pregnant. I like that Smile

Cheese this last bit must be so so hard. You've done so well to get this far. I hope they can give you a definite 'plan' tomorrow. Poor ds1 and poor you stress you could do without right now. My niece had identical symptoms when she was about 6 all the blood tests revealed was low iron count so she was prescribed children's iron tablets for about 4-5 months and she was okay again. Fx it's something simple like that.

Blue poor dd1 Sad she's having a rotten time, lots of children at Katie's school have been off poorly. Fx your endeavours are fruitful this month Wink

How are you doing Fan?

35 weeks Shakey nearly there! Do you have an induction/delivery date?

Fx for Ant's interviews Angel Hope you feel better soon xx

What is the name of your consultant whatever?

I'm kind of ok, CD12 today so I shall start ov testing today, should ov on day 15 or 16 so a bit early but I have to do it to keep me sane really. I had a bit of a crying evening by myself, hating myself. I'm trying to be positive today, will have a chat with DH tonight try and get my head back to some kind of normality.

fanjodisfunction · 26/01/2012 15:27

Sorry

Cheese so glad the infusions seam to be working, has it helped your needle phobia or has it made it worse. I hope you DC gets better soon and its something really simple to put right.

Ive been on the verge of tears all day and I dont have a reason for it really except that Im not happy. Im usaully fine have my bad days as we all do, but last night I just wanted to curl in the corner and cry Im glad I tried to do something, watched Sherlock which I love and then went to sleep. Dh was out last night, I wanted him to have a good time as hes been down lately and I put on such a brave face and dropped him off, and then as soon as he was out of sight I started to cry and couldnt stop, for a while. I dont know if it was because I just felt so useless.

Sorry girls to burden you with my woes, I know you dont mind and your the only ones who really know. I shall hopefully feel better once I have had a chat with DH and a good cry in his arms.

I think though I love talking to you girls, but it does make me jealous and upset sometimes that most you are pg and Im still ttc.

Bluetinkerbell · 26/01/2012 15:30

Don't worry too much about having days like that wtw you're bound to be like that after what you've gone through! we're right here to help you through the next 7 months... and longer :)

DD1 seems better pfieuw! :)

DH had an early start this morning and last night he said: no more funny business tonight Grin think I exhausted him the days before! Wink men eh... they complain when they don't get enough and then we you make an effort they can't be bothered Hmm

fan you're not far behind me cycle wise! I'm on CD19, 2DPO! have ordered 2 FRER tests today so I can test in about 10-12 days :)
big ((hugs)) for you too!

cheese thinking of you ((hugs))

AngelGeorgie · 26/01/2012 16:00

Fan again , what you re feeling is perfectly normal. I don t post too much on Phoebs as I am aware it can be upsetting to read about rainbow babies for others.if I say " your time will come" you won t believe me as I didn t this time last year before I got pg. Sending you big, big hugs. Have you got any trips booked yet? Come on get something booked to have a different focus. Xxxx
whatever glad you feel better. A good consultant is worth their weight in gold. Xx
Blue glad you re DD is better.
Cheese xxxxx nearly there xxx hope ds is ok?
Love to all xxx

Bluetinkerbell · 26/01/2012 16:05

Maybe we should have a weekend away together? Wink
I could really do with a holiday/weekend away, haven't been able to due to no money :(

Whatevertheweather · 26/01/2012 16:08

Ah Fan to keep you going until dh is home. I think ttc must be so emotionally draining on you. It's no wonder you have tearful evenings. And I'm sure with Ophelia's birthday approaching you must be feeling the strain. I do feel guilty sometimes that I fell so quickly and unexpectedly. Although it was a shock I am grateful it happened that way. Be gentle on yourself, get some nice things in the diary if you can. I remember booking Disneyland Paris for last March. I booked it in the December, we were ttc no2 then and I remember saying to dp 'I bet I'll be pregnant by then and I won't be able to go on any rides' Erin was conceived in the January and I was 9 weeks pregnant when we went. I so so hope this is the month for you, Blue and Blizy xx Oh my consultant is Nime at QA (her surname begins with V but is unpronounceable!) she's wonderful.

Thank you Blue will be counting down the next 10-12 days with you xx

CheeseandGherkins · 26/01/2012 16:58

whatever I'm hoping it's nothing too, or something simple. Glad you're feeling more positive today, it's such a rollercoaster xx

fan hasn't really helped at all to be honest, the cannulas were horrible, on one of them he pierced through two veins (my own fault as I moved my hand) and got it in but when he flushed it it really burnt and was painful. It wasn't in properly and caused a huge lump and had to be resited :( Then the other hand clotted after the cannula from the previous iv so had to have more goes on that side. Bloody horrible. I felt the same before I was pregnant, it was hard hearing about other people when you're not but I also remembering feeling pleased for all of us that were. It's a hard ride and very up and down :( Really hoping it's your month xxx

blue fingers crossed, will you test early? I could never resist!

angel results for ds1 came back but the dr hasn't seen them yet, they check them after evening surgery according to the receptionist and she's left a note on his file to call me tonight to go over them. So nervous just waiting for the phone to ring

fanjodisfunction · 26/01/2012 17:00

I don't begrudge any of you, and please angel talk about your phoebs as much as u like I'm just in a dark place today.

We do have a trip planned for scotland in september, but nothing really this part of the year. As we have just moved in money is very tight.

I will look at ceap things to do.

Love to all

CheeseandGherkins · 26/01/2012 17:05

I'd love to visit Scotland, never been there. Whereabouts are you going?

blizy · 26/01/2012 17:21

Fan- huge hugs for you. I really am praying for you and blue (and me)! Af is due on Mon, I just know the witch is going to come.

cheese I hope your ds is ok. The infusions sound really brutal, I hope you get some answers about delivery tomorrow.

whatever you can have a hug too.

angel I enjoy hearing about Pheobe, it gives me some hope to cling onto.

blue Poor ella, hope she gets well soon.

Hi to razz, shakey, august, mel, mia, too, dachs, split and anyone I have missedBlush.

fanjodisfunction · 26/01/2012 18:06

cheese DH is running the Loch Ness marathon, so we will be travelling the east of scotland. I have a good friend who lives in aberdeenshire.

blizy I have everything crossed for you,

AngelGeorgie · 26/01/2012 21:28

Ok I ll keep boring you all!!! Massive FX for Fan, Blitzy & Blue xxxx
Fan sign up for groupon they e mail you daily with really cheap deals , if you re not already xx

fanjodisfunction · 27/01/2012 08:51

Thanks girlies, angel I have signed up to groupon, seams pretty good.

Fi would have been 9 months today, but also my hubbie and I have been together 5 years today, 5 years ago we met on our first date after talking to each other on a dating website for just over a week. We went to the cinema to see Pans Labyrith the lead character was the name inspiration for our daughters name.

spilttheteaagain · 27/01/2012 09:54

Hi all
blue hope your DD is on the mend.
fan so sorry you've been having a rougher patch. I won't patronise you by saying I understand because I've not been where you are. Just want to offer a hand to hold and say we're here to listen, and it's ok to be hurt and jealous, nobody minds xx
cheese the transfusions sound awful but great that the iron count is rising. When are they rechecking and what levels are they aiming for? Sounds like you are doing all the right things dietary and supplement wise.
angel that's crap about Ant's redundancy. Really hope he finds something soon. How much more mat leave are you hoping to have?

We have another batch of colds chez spilt. I'm not used to catching every bug that goes round, I'm hardly ever ill, but it just goes to show what tiredness does to your immune system. Poor Freya is utterly stuffed up again, snot everywhere and worn out. She's been screaming through the night which is totally out of character, she never cries in the night, just boob hunts drowsily and feeds back to sleep. Slurped the calpol off the spoon though!! mmm strawberry!

No one wants to buy our house. Or even blardy look at it SadAngry Oh well, maybe I shall just go ahead and plant my broad beans and courgettes etc. Would be pissed off to hold off in case we move and then still be here in September having a sadly empty veg plot.

blizy · 27/01/2012 09:54

fan Z will be 11 months tomorrow, the it will be the countdown to her birthday. How are you? That is a nice story about Ophelia's name.

Af is due on Monday and I am driving myself mad with bloody symptom spotting! I don't think this is the month though.

fanjodisfunction · 27/01/2012 10:06

blizy I'm doing ok today, dh sorted me out. Fx this is your month. He sat down and took the reins of ttc off me. Asked when I thought I was due ov and then said ok we are going to try really hard this month, I've taken my vitimins. Maybe we shall start swi tomorrow and continue all week up to our weeding anniversary (next saturday). Bless him

spilt thanks.

ciwi · 27/01/2012 11:16

Hi everyone,
fan don't worry about speaking your mind on here, we have all been there. Glad you are feeling better today, bless our oh's they deserve a medal sometimes, I know mine has picked me up more times than I can remember over the last year or so, it can't always be easy for him x
Really hoping for you all waiting to test, you all deserve it so much x
cheese hang in there, you are doing really well x
Just a short post from me, having a bit of a nightmare in the house, water leaking in the kitchen and can't seem to stop it plus the boiler has broken so no heating or hot water at the moment, it's such a nightmare. I am also starting to swell a bit more which is making me anxious, bp and urine ok but the midwife is going to see me every week now because I am worrying about it. Hope everyone else is having an ok day x

AngelGeorgie · 27/01/2012 12:21

CiwI oh, you have my sympathy we had a cold house fir a week 3 weeks ago when our boiler broke brr... Was horrible no hot water & cold house. Glad you re MW is seeing you regularly. Worrying about swelling but good that your urine & bp is good. Hope you get your boiler fixed soon.xx
Fan glad you re feeling a little brighter. 5 years 5 years Arh... I feel like I ve done a life sentence now with Ant , 13 years!!!
Spilt sorry to hear about your house & cold. Hope Freya is better soon. We re putting our house on the Market soon & I remember it being dis heartening when you have no viewings or people just fib when they do view your house. My mat leave finishes on 9th April. About 10 weeks left grh....
Hi all; still full of cold , work still being shitty with Ant. But , seeing friends soon so hopefully I ll feel a little brighter after that.

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 27/01/2012 19:06

Fan, your DH sounds lovely! Taking his vitamins - bless! Enjoy Aberdeenshire - I grew up there and Dad still lives there so I go back regularly.

Angel, any progress with Ant's job applications?

Ciwi, glad the bp and urine are fine. I'm getting swelling in my hands and feet when I'm hot, but it goes down when I get colder so I'm not too worried.

Blizy, will be thinking of you and Zoe tomorrow.

Poor Spilt and Freya being ill. I would give myself Calpol too! FX for hordes of viewers and lots of offers on your house very soon.

Cheese, have you heard from the doctor re DS1 yet? Hope he's ok.

Wtw, so glad the scan went well! I was put back a week or so at my 8 week scan and then moved forward a week at the 12 week scan - think at such an early stage they can only guess at how far along you are.

AngelGeorgie · 27/01/2012 19:13

Hi Too no news as of yet. Still attending interviews just awaiting 2 nd interviews or knock backs. Glad you re ok? Xx

Whatevertheweather · 27/01/2012 19:37

Aww Fan your dh sounds so so lovely. Glad you are feeling a little better. Do you have any nice plans for your wedding anniversary? Will light a candle for Ophelia tonight - 9 months Sad xx

Blizy sending 'stay away witch' vibes to you. Do you think you will succumb to a test over the weekend or hold out? I didn't get a positive until 2 days after AF was due even with a sensitive test. Will be thinking of you and Zoe tomorrow.

Split sorry the winter lurgy has got to you and Freya. I always used to put a bowl of warm water with a dollop of vicks in Katie's room when she had a cold. Even at nearly 5 first thing she asks for is Vicks when she's under the weather.

Thank you Too it's good to hear other people have had dates moved. I was so worried it meant bean wasn't growing properly. I swelled with both K & E when I got hot.

Ciwi you poor thing, how rotten to have no heating or hot water. I hope you can get it fixed soon and that your swelling goes down.

Cheese saw your plan on fb. Hope you are happy with it and feel a little more relaxed. Did you get ds1 test results?

Waves Blue how are you? Is dd1 better now?

All okay here. Resolved to tell work next week. Really not looking forward to it but think I'll feel better once it's done. Dp got a bird of prey experience day for Christmas so off to do that tomorrow. Katie is very excited bless her.
