New thread..... let's get going!!

OP posts:
Ladybythebeach · 18/02/2012 10:55

pickle - really don't know if recovery time is linked to how long you've taken pill, I haven't heard that before. I think it completely varies from person to person and I don't think there's much you can do to speed up the process.

I haven't had any side effects that I'm aware of, though come to think of it my last period was a lot shorter than when I was on the pill.

Regarding the thermometer, I just picked up a cheap one in Boots and have tried to take my temperature first thing in the morning whilst hiding under the duvet from DH but it seems a bit sporadic so have given up on that lately.

Feel so impatient! Have been working at home last few days and it's just too tempting to keep looking at baby stuff on the net - can see it getting a bit addictive.

CaveMum · 18/02/2012 11:20

There is no evidence to suggest that the length of time you are on the pill will influence how long it takes to get back to normal. Don't forget you can, in theory, get pregnant as soon as you stop, so in reality it only takes a few weeks at most for the artifical hormones to leave yuor system.
What takes the time is yur natural hormones getting back into sync again.

As far as temping goes, you need an accurate thermometer - it must be sensitive to 0.1C. Don't forget temping only confirms ovulation after the fact, it can't tell you that you are abuot to ovulate.

I've started spotting, so it looks as though I was right about Sod's Law kicking in Sad. Another pee stick wasted Angry

maamalady · 18/02/2012 14:27

Day one for me too, Cave :( Completely not a surprise for me, and we've been somewhat lax this month anyway.

Still, my temperatures look way more textbook in terms of peaking at ovulation, staying high, then dropping for AF, so perhaps the HSG has given me a spring clean inside! Next month we'll be on the case a bit more assiduously - no clinic appointments or anything to stress us out either so hopefully it'll be a bit of an easier ride. As it were. Wink Grin

Pickle - wishing you all the best with the beginning of TTC! I wouldn't worry too much about losing spontaneity - worrying about it will make you lose it more easily than anything else! We've been TTC for over two years now and our sex life is if anything better than it was before - I think the pill had been suppressing my sex drive for years.

CaveMum · 18/02/2012 16:46

Sorry to hear AF had got you Evil.

Here's the thing for me, the spotting stopped after a couple of hours and there's been nothing since. This is not normal for me! Little voice in my head is saying "implantation bleed?", but why the negative test? If AF doesn't show up properly by Monday I'll ask the clinic what I should do next, though I suspect they'll say give it another few days and test again.

highheelsandequations · 18/02/2012 17:34

Fairy huge congratulations to you :o :o :o :)

Waves and hugs for cave (fingers crossed for you), raspberry (hope you're not still too stressed), josie (good luck starting the IVF) and anyone else here that remembers me.

Fairygodmother1 · 18/02/2012 19:07

Aww thank you highheels Grin

Picklestar · 18/02/2012 20:53

Massive congratulations Fairy! brilliant news!

waves to all newbies

Good Luck with the IVF Josie, I'm smiling at the thought of your DH giving you the injection one handed :o!

Sorry you got your af Evil

Sorry you got a BFN too pippi

nothing to report here. to our newbies ive been off the pill since august and my periods still havent settled down, they are 4-6 weeks apart and the last one lasted 11 days! Rubbish periods! Still doing the ovulation sticks not had a positive one yet which is a bit depressing, trying not to freak out!

CaveMum · 19/02/2012 09:45

AF is here in full flow, pardon the pun, this morning Sad

Back to the Clomid tomorrow.

Hope everyone else has a better day!

PricklyPickle · 19/02/2012 10:04

Sorry to hear that cave, but try to think positive, this is the start of a shiny new cycle.

I have a question; are there any other vitamins or supplements that I should take whilst TTC apart from folic acid?

CaveMum · 19/02/2012 10:32

Prickly, I take the WellWoman pre-conception vitamins. They contain folic acid, plus lots of helpful extras.

It's not cheap (about £10 for 30 tablets), but Boots and Tesco often have them on 3 for the price of 2 offer.

In reality, as long as you are eating and drinking healthily you don't NEED more than the folic acid, but I take the view that it can't hurt!

raspberrytipple · 19/02/2012 12:01

hi ladies,
Blimey this is a lucky old thread I started! Hope it works for me too :)

Congratulations Pearl and Beeble and definitely Fairy! That's so fabulous after 4 years, really really pleased for you Grin What are your symptoms so far then?

Sorry to hear AF got you cave evil and pippi and anyone else the bitch got to.

highheels lovely to hear from you! Just yesterday morning actually I was looking back through some old Frolicker threads from 2010 onwards and chuckling at our random conversations. You will be pleased to know I am still pole dancing - did you ever take it up again after LO came along?

Goodluck getting started today Josie keep us posted how it goes.

Well, news from me is that I've got my operation date through. 12th April and a pre-op on 15th March. It means I'm having to pull out of a hen do :( I really don't want to push it back though as I want it over and done with. It also means it shouldn't interrupt with the house move either which should be by early April. I had a peak on my CBFM on day 18/19 so Wednesday/Thursday last week so shagged on both days, thought we may as well give it a go. Since Friday my nipples have been VERY painful and I'm really very bloated with stabby/crampy pains on and off around my tummy. Then last night I had some really weird horrible dreams (I very rarely dream) and I woke up with a migraine too. I'm putting this all down to stress, I've been very wobbly the last few weeks so along with the twitchy eye Ive had for two weeks I think I've just burned myself out!

Waves to everyone else! xx

OP posts:
highheelsandequations · 19/02/2012 13:25

raspberry yep was back on the pole when LO was 12 weeks old! Instructor was a bit sceptical at first but I'm now managing most of the inverts I used to do again, it's just a lot more effort than it used to be! Cannot do inverted V at all anymore, we think my centre of gravity has shifted and I just can't seem to pivot over anymore. Glad you're still going with it, you must be really good by now. It seems like just yesterday when we were chatting on those old threads, can't believe it was 2010!!!! Hope all's going well with the house, and good luck for the operation.

fairy and the others with recent BFPs the graduates thread is here so pop on over when you feel ready, it can be a bit quiet at times but with lot of brand new BFPs it's certain to pick up soon!!

pippilongsmurfing · 19/02/2012 14:27

Sorry cavemum Sad.

I POAS yesterday, and got a BFN, but still no AF, and all my pre AF symptoms and PMS irritation have disappeared, so confused now!

Suppose will have to wait a few days and just see what happens. Angry

Fairygodmother1 · 19/02/2012 17:14

Hi Raspberry, Thank you. My symptoms are very much as you described with some heart burt sore back & today so spotting which scared the s**t out of me!!!

be over soon Highheels

LateToThisBabyMalarky · 19/02/2012 18:54
Smile

Just wanted to pop back to the TTC thread and say congrats to all of you who've got your BFPs - Raspberry, you started off a good one Wink
We'd love to see you over on the grads thread, and there's a lot of support from FTFs (like highheels) who have been there, done that and have a little baby wearing the t-shirt Grin

ChocolateWindmill · 20/02/2012 15:25

Congrats to all the BFPs!!! Well done ladies!

Not holding my breath this month, apart from having the flu, we just found out that the restaurant I work at is shutting down (2 days after I ovulated) so we might have had to drink the bar dry... Oops. I've had a hangover for almost 3 days so if this month is the month that poor little fetous is probably still drunk on Moët...

Ratata · 20/02/2012 17:01

Big congrats fairy

I'm afraid I will be leaving the thread for a while. We have decided to stop TTC until May. We have decided we want to be selfish a bit longer! We have front row tickets to our favourite comedian in Nov and should we get pg in Feb/March it would be unlikely I would be able to go and would be so gutted. We are also fancying a nice holiday in Summer like the US so that's another reason to hold off.

Unfortunately I'm feeling a bit up in the air about everything now. I love music gigs, comedy gigs, long haul holidays and partying. Having to give things like that up freaks me out a bit. Even just giving it up for a while. I know I could still do the odd gig and do most things in future after child but wouldn't be so easy and that scares me.

Will still lurk the thread to keep an eye on BFPs. :)

mrsmellow · 21/02/2012 13:55

Hello all - Congrats fairy
Sorry you're feeling rubbish raspberry and cave and hello to the newbies!
Feeling a bit more upbeat than last week - heard from a friend who was in my shoes a couple of years ago and got pregnant the month after being told she had polycystic ovaries - she now has 2 lovely kids... so fingers crossed - and lots of SWI - CD22 in our house - all OPK's negative (but really not sure I'm peeing on them at the right time..) but is half-way through a 40 day cycle -so will keep it up until CD30 I think, just in case! Haven't gotten hold of a thermometer yet (or risked another mercury one!)... things to do this weekend...
josie hope the injections are going ok.

JosieSmith1 · 22/02/2012 10:35

Hi, just a quick update from me

Had the first injection on Sunday, I cried, got a bit panicked, then didn't feel it Hmm so that was a positive experience. Monday night's I felt, then on Tuesday morning I passed out at work and kept slipping in and out of consciousness (on the tea room floor Blush) and ended up being put into an ambulance to the hosp and I had really bad abdominal pain. Then the symptoms stopped on their own and I was fine! I was terrified it was a reaction to the buserelin cos it started with what I thought was a hot flush, but the hosp didn't think so, and when we spoke to the fertility clinic they didn't think so, and I took my next jab last night (which really hurt and left a bruise) and I'm ok so far today. Hosp said it's just one of those things! I'm terrified it's gonna happen again.

So far my IVF journey has not been easy and I don't suppose it's gonna get any easier, maybe yesterday was a warning that I'm knackered. I feel physically and emotionally like I've been hit by a bus Sad but I'm determined to carry on

Hope you are all managing ok x

raspberrytipple · 22/02/2012 19:28

This blummin thread disappeared off my list completely and I had to go back thru my history on my phone to get it back?! Second time that's happened?

Anyway, sorry for being quiet, have been feeling a bit sorry for myself so have vacated forums a bit. I have no news anyway other than having my lap & dye paperwork through and my progesterone results back 46.9 which means I ovulated. I reckon either it was last Thursday or Friday So day 19/20 that I llaid my egg as I got the cbfm peak on Wednesday - day 18 and we dtd Saturday Monday Wednesday and Thursday so days 14, 16, 18, 19 so fingers crossed we timed it right.

Hugs for all x
