NEW BUS BOARDING FOR JUNE 2012

desperateoldie67 · 23/08/2011 06:40

Struck out this month...anyone care to join me on the June 2012 bus?

OP posts:
bradderswantsababy · 06/09/2011 13:34

Hello all please can I jump on this lovely June bus. I have added my stats below this is my first month off the pill. I am totally with you Prunella and loulou about coming off the pill sooner.

I have a friend that took 12 months to conceive DS and had been on the pill over 10 years (like me) she swears its was due to being on the pill too long. She advised me months ago to get off the pill and get it out of my system. So trotted off to the docs to explain why I was coming off the pill and was told that didnt matter how long you have been off the pill. Unfortunately I took his word for it (well he is meant to know best!!)

We were going to wait to TTC until after Christmas but after reading posts on MN stopped taking it 6th August.

Currently 3 days late with no sign of AF although as this is my first month off the pill my cycle may be way out.

If AF is coming I wish she would jolly well get on with it so at least I can chart track and use OV. However if I have been so so lucky this month and am PG please will the HPT show a line of any sort!! Confused

Sn0wGoose · 06/09/2011 14:11

Funnily enough, I changed to cerazette after getting migraines on the other ones too - stroke symptoms sounds terrifying though. Seeing my libido ping back, I don't think I'll be going back on anything afterwards either. I think DH would wrestle them from my very hands tbh!! Blush

All my siblings have kids, as have many of DHs siblings (we have big families) though none of our friends do. We've been together for ten years and have an abundance of pets, so I think everyone's come to the conclusion we're barren tbh - it'll be a real shocker if-and-when we announce we're pg ;)

I don't think it should matter you're not married though, it's not the 50s!! Shock Both DH's siblings with kids are not married, one is 18 and the other 30 iirc, but both are in stable relationships like you, which is what counts imho.

We have decent jobs and our own mammoth mortgage, so it shouldn't be a naughty secret, but if we told anyone we were ttc there would be lots of discouraging "how will you manage?" talk and lots of frowning and sucking of air through teeth and "are you sure?". We're not the most organised of people we live in chaos and it's also pretty obvious that we'll have no physical/practical help from family - my parents live abroad, DH's dad lives 4 hours away and, err, lets just say DH's mum won't be any help putting it mildly, whereas all our siblings have shed loads of of support from their other halves's families iykwim............

Anyway, long story short, we're keeping schtum until I'm upduffed, and then they can jolly well get over it and be happy for us :o

Sn0wGoose · 06/09/2011 14:15

Wow that was long (sorry)

bradders I did exactly the same thing! The GP trotted out things like "loads of people get pg the first month they come off the pill" etc etc and stupidly I bought into it.

Prunella79 · 06/09/2011 15:38

yep i got that too from the dr - being told you're probably more fertile when first coming off the pill doesn't help the perception of bound to get pg straight away if not taking contraception but MN is great for giving some more grounded perspectives. as so often in life it's better to be happy with low expectations than crushed by falsely high ones...oh well Brew Biscuit and bring on the SWI Smile

Mama5isalive · 06/09/2011 16:47

Hi all- all those who have finally rid themselves of the dreaded PILL! welcome to freedom and hopefully soon Pregnantville!!!!!
online - sorry about the OV sticks how awful that you have wasted them! I hope you get it sorted real soon, you never know you could already be preggers as so wont need them!
well im in my fertile days and just went back to work yesterday so fitting in SWi while tired aint working but will def get some action in tonight! im staying away from Ov-ing sticks and just used online cal to help me!
ohhhhhhh ladies i do pray it will be us all this month!!!!!!!nice girl name June!

ChocolateWindmill · 06/09/2011 18:07

Hey guys, sorry I've pretty much stopped posting, have moved around desks at work and now my boss can see my screen. Not cool at all. :(

Have been SWI like crazy, I'm getting fed up of not being pregnant! There was even an incident with high heels and the kitchen table... DH said that if we make a boy we'll have to call him Jimmy Choo Blush

My 2ww starts now so I'll be a little bit crazy!

Hope all is good with everyone!!

Good to hear snowgoose - and can't wait to tell people when we are updiffed and see their confused faces Grin

Looks like lots of us are into the SWI zone - godspeed to you all in your endeavours ladies! Look forward to a couple of weeks time when the sticks come out for a-testing! Impressed with your table/heels efforts chocolate - I think the most adventurous we've managed has been the sofa after work Blush (note to self: must try harder).

Hello everyone, think im in the two week wait now if i have worked out my cycle correctly. But not really sure have been taking dianette for a year and a bit. So hoping its all back to normal, DP also says im much happier off the pill.
were both having a well earned rest after all the SWI.
hope everyones having a good week.

trilottie · 07/09/2011 09:33

hi all, am finally back in the game as FF thinks I've ovulated! We might have timed BD correctly although I have not seen any sign of EWCM at all! Would someone more knowledgeable (sp?) than me be able to take a look at my chart and see if they think FF is right?
www.fertilityfriend.com/home/35e0d9
Can't really say when AF is due since my last cycle was 69 days :( I suppose i could take a guess at the luteal phase length and add it on

Sn0wGoose · 07/09/2011 11:37

Heels and a kitchen table, I feel so tame lol

EWCM this morning and yesterday, and temp rise yesterday, so think I'm in to 2ww territory. OPKs all neg though Hmm

louloubellamozzarella · 07/09/2011 12:08

Oops forgot to POAOS (ov stick!) again yesterday - hmph. TBH snow I've seen a lot of comments about ov sticks being unreliable. I'd go with how you feel and rough dates (and the delightful EWCM) and go for it! Looks like that's what I'll be doing as I'm so forgetful...

GTR2882 (29) TTC#1 CD26 Jam making football fan who wants a dog as much as a baby but DH won't allow a dog, so a baby it is!

Hi guys - i am done with the May bus (although will pop in every now and then to see how its all going), body can't make up its mind what it wants to do, have peed on that many sticks that i have a crazy collection next to the bed, DH is tired of finding them everywhere (lounge table, study table, bathroom, kitchen - you name it, i have probably left it there!!). Not sure when AF is ever going to be due (FF says 25th Sept but i beg to differ), my last cycle was 52 days, so i might not even make the June bus and could well be charting a July bus if things do not pick up very soon!!

Anyway, please help yourselves to this fresh chic chip muffins and some herbal tea :)

GTR2882 · 07/09/2011 12:44

Trilottie had a quick gander at your chart, and i would say that the temp rise certainly looks like ov and it's def good that your temps are remaining high as well!! I too have freakishly long cycles sometimes and FF charted my ov on CD12 was so happy as we had BD'd 2 days before, the day of and the day after so pg monitor was high - then had some low temps that dropped below the cover line and BOOM my cover line gone and no hope of oving at the moment at least!

I have been peeing on OPKs like a crazy woman (actually off to do so now) and although they seem to be getting darker they are never quite as dark as the control line, let alone darker! I would treat what your chart is saying as good sign and as long as your temps stay elevated for at least 18 days then you very well could be pg :)

What is your normal luteal phase? And has FF not indicated an AF date for you?

trilottie · 07/09/2011 13:26

Oooh Thank you GTR - very helpful.
This is my second cycle off the pill so thats why the first one was 69 days - tbh until the coverline popped up I thought I was anovulatory, judging by my CM which was on and off. I've just read the Q&A in FF which mentions that its a dotted line so might not be correct due to the missing ov symptoms so it advises to carry on SWI-ing.
Fingers crossed then! Will have to cut down on the drinking next week when we're on hols in the lakes. Darn it, had planned campsites specifically next to good pubs and all :(

GTR2882 · 07/09/2011 13:53

Oh that is a bummer trilottie but will be worth it :) I rarely see much difference in my CM tbh, despite have a frequent rummage in there, sometimes 3 or 4 times a day just to see what is going on - don;t think i have ever noticed EWCM and the times i think it was watery i am not convinced that it was now - i can only tell when it;s creamy! I was hoping that the OPKs would take some of the hard work out of it for me, but they are not that convincing either!! Argh, i thought getting pg would be simple, you hear of all these people (mainly family and friends) who weren't trying and they were pg very quickly (my DH's cousins wife is pg with her second and they weren't supposed to be trying until this month (she is almost 3 months now) - but they clearly were trying).

Best foot forward - lots of SWI and peeing to be done Grin

I finally got a + OPK! I did two, just incase it was duff, ha ha!
Looks like asda/boots own brands are just pants compared to the cheapy Amazon ones...

festiemum · 08/09/2011 19:30

Well done Sn0w.

I have an OPK related question actually. Been doing them since CD10 (I'm on CD14) Today, after very faint lines every day, I got a stronger line, with a part of the line as dark as the control. I also have ewcm and am extraordinarily randy! Is this ov do you think?

Goes without saying I will be jumping DH tonight!

GTR2882 · 08/09/2011 20:15

festie I have heard that if 50% of the test line is as dark or darker than the control line then it can be accepted as a positive - the fact that you have other exciting symptoms would have me tying DH to the bed and leaving him there until I am completely convinced that sperm has successfully met egg Grin

I jumped DH as soon as he came through the door!!! Don't feel overly randy, but maybe a bit more than usual (have thought of nothing else all day) and dare i say, but the SWI was really good (not that it isn't normally Blush)......ok i'm going before this hole i am digging gets any bigger!!

MrsGrumpWantsABump · 08/09/2011 20:22

Sounds good festiemum, I got a couple of faint lines this cycle as well before a stronger line/positive result, and you've got other signs pointing to OV, so go jump him quick! Grin

I'm 11 dpo-ish and going absolutely mad waiting for AF/POAS. Had a few twinges again today and some spotting.

Have a nice weekend everyone, I'll try not to obsess too much, so will pop back next week to see how you all are doing!

festiemum · 09/09/2011 07:31

Thanks ladies! Indeed the deed was done! :o

Ha ha GTR - hole duly avoided (just about Wink)!

Good luck MrsGrump - it's so hard playing the waiting game!

MorningHasBroken · 09/09/2011 08:06

Room for a little one? I came off cerazette at the beginning of july and as yet my cycles have been crazy, mixed up things. Crossing fingers (and everything else except legs) that things will settle down soon though!

grinningbee · 09/09/2011 11:29

Hello you lovely lot Grin

Well, af has all but departed and I am now on day 8. Gearing up for a week and a bit of SWI before having to spend a few days in a caravan with the dc, dh and MIL. And probably when I'm ov'ing too Angry. Still, we'll give it our best go Wink
