Conception

When's the best time to get pregnant? Use our interactive ovulation calculator to work out when you're most fertile and most likely to conceive.

We are jolly well going to get preggers this month and keep it with some Rat smacking, pom pom waving, baking, visualising and brooking no argument. JUST FERTILISE!

Ladies, here we are.
Let's crack on.

Imps7 · 24/08/2011 13:20

Oooooh oooh ooh I meant to say that I know it's a bit premature, but while trying to avoid doing any work at all I've come up with a title for the new thread that will imminently need to be started. What do you think of the following:

We are all jolly well going to get preggers this month and then hang on to it in three easy steps: 1. See a rat - smack it! 2. Just fertilise! 3. Just get stuck in and stay there!

It's sort of a work in progress, really.

NinjaChipmunk · 24/08/2011 13:24

it is freezing in my office. I have to spend mondays and wednesdays with someone who physically cannot feel the cold. My fingers are turning purple!

anyway, sorry imps I will be super dooper sunny and positive now thats thats all out of my system. I am brooking no arguement! Ninjababy is high kicking its way down my tubes as we speak due to implant any day now. I expect to feel a swift karate chop to the womb as it happens.

Wants3 · 24/08/2011 13:55

No offence takenimps:) I knew what you meant! DH is deffo not a rat, married 20 yrs so can't be that bad! I know what you mean about not keeping up,it's a busy thread.
Ps has anyone else got several pregnancy apps on their phone/pad?

NinjaChipmunk · 24/08/2011 13:58

one app and bookmark to futility friend. my laptop however has rather a lot of bookmarked pages of info (although mainly on infertility rather than fertility - maybe i should debookmark these as i won't be needing them now i'm on here?)

maybebabyR · 24/08/2011 14:19

Loving the new title Imps Grin

Now, I said i wouldn't symptom spot, so I won't. Even though I am a bit. But I am going to remain strong

farfallarocks · 24/08/2011 14:22

My God we have almost filled up a new thread!!

Am feeling more Hut of Gloom than positive today. I need a slap!!
I can;t stop googling low progesterone levels and have managed to convince myself that I have a) polycystic ovaries b) early menopause depending on what I google.
Argh

I am NOT BROOKING honest

OP posts:
NinjaChipmunk · 24/08/2011 14:36

farfalla take yourself in hand woman. DO NOT GOOGLE - no good will come of it. Other than a low progesterone reading (that was not done 7 dpo and therefore likely to be the reason) do you have any other symptoms of either of these? And I mean real tangible symtoms here! I know its hard but step away from Dr Google as he is misleading and confusing. I'm sure some of our medically trained rat smackers would agree. When do you get retested?

Solars · 24/08/2011 14:39

Meant in the nicest possible way Farfalla but Slap with the pom poms! Did you not say you were going to have a repeat 21 day test as the test was done after day 21?? I really think you should stop worrying and wait at least for the next result, in any case you are PG anyway so won't need to do it!!! Step away from Google!!

farfallarocks · 24/08/2011 14:42

Thanks gals, feeling better already!!
PCOS - potentially, my father is bald, when I am not on the pill I get spots, more hair and put on weight.
Menopause - none!

I have had the day 3 tests done, if it is PCOS then that should show up on that test I think. Only on day 5 so have a whole month of rat smacking before being re-tested.

Reading through this is making me more cheerful already, you guys ROCK.

OP posts:
Imps7 · 24/08/2011 15:01

Oh, of course we'll need to add the bit about brooking no argument to the new thread title - that's the most important and successful bit!

Farfalla poor you worrying yourself with Google. I can only reiterate what the others have said. I read something this morning which said that implantation can happen on the day after ovulation!! Total balls! So 99.9% of what you have read will be balls too. Continue to brook no argument and it will happen - we've seen proof of this already today with Yacka's BFP :)

Wants3 · 24/08/2011 15:04

I am using one to chart cycle but I cannot get it to input some data eg temp so just wondered if anyone else is using same one (woman log)

farfallarocks · 24/08/2011 15:23

Ooooooh I missed the BFP, congrats yacka

Thanks imps, any more symptoms from you??

Any more imminent testing?

OP posts:
CakePigeon · 24/08/2011 15:25

I tried a few apps for charting temps wants bit I didn't get on with any of them so I now use fertility friend via the mobile access site.

Sorry you're wobbling a bit farfalla I always ask doctor google but I think he misleads us! Good luck for your retest anyway Smile

maybebabyR · 24/08/2011 15:42

Farfalla panic not, all will be well and your mind will be put at ease after your retest.

Has your day gotten any more exciting Cake?

Would anyone like to do some writing for me, to take their minds off TTC?

Imps7 · 24/08/2011 15:44

I'm still stuck in the dark ages and can't get t'interweb on my phone - well I can but it's really expensive and slow and the screen is tiny.

Nothing else really exciting to report Farfalla, just the normal 2ww stuff.

Wants3 · 24/08/2011 15:57

Ok, my "chart" is saying that I will prob ov on 30th but I have ewcm and I had lower pain on my left side( ov pains?) today. I am only cd9. Could it just be reaction to rough cs yesterday? Hoping cycle buddy golden chips in with this one too:)

dreamfeeder · 24/08/2011 16:10

wants, i say listen to your body not your chart and go forth and fertilise that egg!!! EWCM = egg. In my very thin, poorly informed book.

imps, i'm also in the dark ages and am wanting a smart phone.

Feeling much better and perkier this afternoon Grin. Not been sick since a bit after breakfast, Brooking No Argument must be doing the trick although this is how it started last time and ramped up.

yacka, i did have my ketones tested once, and they were fine. On my worst day i was so sick, and couldn't keep anything down at all, and got so dehydrated I felt like I had a really bad UTI and was dying for a wee every 10 min with all the accompanying burning.... nice. Got better overnight and next day improved so didn't see anyone about it just whinged to dh a lot. Still not in your league. I didn't think you were saying I wasn't suffering, just made me grateful it wasn't even worse!!

farfalla, hope it's not PCOS, but even so doesn't necessarily mean you wouldn't conceive... my ex-colleague had PCOS and got pg naturally the month before she was due to have IVF on the NHS for it Grin. She has 2 little girls now, neither via IVF. I'd say with all the tests you're having, your ironic BFP is on its way.

ninja, same for you, clearly. You will avoid your hsg through your BFP!

and solars, pile on the sympathy, then suggest a bit of nookie would really cheer him up (after you've fed him and generally sucked up of course) and don't take no for an answer!!! I forced encouraged dh to shag me when he had man flu i'm such a cow i even refused to kiss him in case I got it- he looked quite ill. All paid off!

NinjaChipmunk · 24/08/2011 20:55

hello? hello? where is everyone? are you all off shagging, peeing on sticks and/ or puking?

BartletForAmerica · 24/08/2011 20:56

Sorry for not responding to everything. We've been away at a funeral today, so not much time.

Yacka, congratulations! I am amazed at the success rate of this thread! Hope hyperemesis doesn't appear this time. After being quite sick with DS, I have been told by friends that it won't necessarily happen in the future.

farfalla, a friend of mine has PCOS - and will be the mother to 4 children under 3 (one set of DTs), all without any treatment, in just a few months!

So whose turn is it to become pregnant tomorrow? Sorry, that should be "whose turn is it to confirm they are pregnant tomorrow?" Clearly, we are all pregnant already. Smile

BartletForAmerica · 24/08/2011 20:57

Cross-posted with Ninja. Hello! Need to get an early night (wink, wink).

maybebabyR · 24/08/2011 21:03

Bonsoir fellow smackers if rats. Sorry for no replies, been in the gym.

Sorry about the funeral Bartlet hope all is ok?

I agree with Dream Wants go forth and smack that rat.

FOLC ACID

So, in the gym tonight, I spent the first 20 mins trying not to vom. Then, and this is the embarrassing bit. I started crying at a sodding advert. WTF?

Am having an ironic glass of vino to perk myself up. Any crying to report Imps?

NinjaChipmunk · 24/08/2011 21:12

you are so so pregnant maybe, nearly vomming in the gym and crying at an advert? can't be anything else.
I think my boobs are getting bigger.

Solars · 24/08/2011 21:38

Wants I would go for it, don't want to be wasting that EWCM!

Maybe those are sure signs of pregnancy if ever I heard them!! When are you confirming by the way? Ninja you too with those huge boobs! Are you confirming soon too?

Well, hubby went to work this afternoon but when he came back he was still very feverish and very tired. He had a little to eat and was off to bed and considering he was up most of the night anyway I couldn't blame him. Think this month for me has been a wash out :(

maybebabyR · 24/08/2011 21:45

Ah Solars don't give up hope yet. He will be feeling much better in the morning after an early night Smile

Ninja so are mine! I had to physically force them into my sports bra tonight. I have big boobs anyway, but really....

I am not going to confirm. I am just waiting and seeing. If I say that enough, I will believe it myself Grin

NinjaChipmunk · 24/08/2011 21:48

Your poor dh but don't give up yet solars it might still happen. do you think you ov'd today? maybe a quickie in the morning might seal the deal as they do live for a while while once laid don't they?
I won't be confirming till beginning of next week. I am feeling a bit odd but it could just be eating too much dinner!
