Ladies, here we are.
Let's crack on.

Imps your post made me laugh so hard DH asked me what was up! I do feel for you, while I was symptom spotting last month I kep almost getting caught doing strange things in the lift!

I spoke to the doctor and he was very reassuring. He says, as expected, that it's probably just a pregnancy symptom but given my history it's worth double-checking sooner rather than later. So he suggested we have the booking in appointment on Friday! Shock Even though I explained that AF is only due on Fri!!

Also he asked me which hospital I want to be booked into!!! Double Shock Shock !!!! I suddenly feel like things are moving soooooooooooo fast! Luckily I knew which hospital I want already (all those hours spent reading way too much info on google way to far in advance! Blush ) It's lucky really, because the hospital I chose is super popular in our area but it's relatively small so it books up really early. My doctor said he's going to start the referral!!!

The final shock of the call was when he started talking about mw's. I mentioned that I'm intending to use an independent mw, (even though I'm DEFINITELY having a hospital birth with as many drugs as I can legally get my hands on!) He's not sure how the balance of appointments works with independent mw's and still being under the care of a hospital, so he suggested I speak to the mw about this and discuss it with him further at the appointment on Fri. So now I'm not only booked in with the GP super early, I also need to start talking to independent mw's!

On the one hand this is all very VERY exciting! On the other hand though I really wasn't intending to kick off any of this stuff until I'm officially late next week. I would really appreciate some group brooking no argument to help make sure AF doesn't suddenly decide to rear her hideous head this week and bring everything screeching to a horrible halt!

Squeak and I CAN do this though! We will be getting through the next few weeks, and brooking no argument!

BabySade · 22/08/2011 13:37

Boo to not being cycle buddies Maybe but at least we will have another BFP to celebrate a few days later!

BabySade · 22/08/2011 13:41

Scream we are ALL brooking no argument for you and squeak. We have seen what the power of brooking can do this week. Stay strong Smile

Imps7 · 22/08/2011 13:43

God, Scream you lost me with all this talk about independent midwives, choosing hospitals etc etc - there is SO much I don't know about how this all works. How on earth do you know what to do?? I'm going to be a total disaster if when this happens for me, I know I will.

maybebabyR · 22/08/2011 13:44

I'm seconding Baby Scream you and Squeak are going to be great Smile

Exactly Baby I figure if we can all get BFPs at varying points in the week, it will most definitely show those ratties who is boss Grin

thelittlefriend · 22/08/2011 13:52

I'm ok thanks generic. I don't really have a 2ww atm as my luteal phase has gone awol. Still, should be ovulating next week so will be swi soon, as who knows when it may reappear! Still brooking for the rest of you too Wink Smile

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 22/08/2011 13:53

Imps don't worry! My doctor was really nice, he talked me through the whole process and how all the tests, scans, etc will work. They don't expect you to know any of this stuff off the top of your head!

I've heard from several people that one of the first questions the doc will ask you at your booking in appointment is which hospital you want, and it usually catches people offguard which means the doctor then recommends whatever your nearest hospital is and you end up stuck there even if it's not the best hospital in your area. So I chose my hospital before I even started ttc!

My nearest hospital has a terrible reputation for filthy conditions, I've heard of people going into the labour room and finding bloody dirty sheets from the previous occupants! One of my close friends at work had a really long labour at this hospital (with all the accompanying mess) she then had an emergency cs at the end, and the mw's put her back on the filthy bed and left her there in the mess all night. In the morning it was her Mum who changed the bedsheets in the end, with no help from the staff! Plus there are many more horror stories about this hopsital on MN. So I wanted to avoid this hospital above all else!! I'm glad that my early referral means it's more likely I'll get the really good hospital that's only a little further away.

As for independent mw's, Imps there's no need for you to worry about those unless you're planning to have one! They're not necessary at all if you're happy with the NHS mw service. I'm just a worrier and it's worth the money to me to have the exclusive attention of one mw right from the first contraction at home through to the delivery itself. I'm hoping I'll be less scared if I know my mw really well and totally trust her.

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 22/08/2011 13:56

Thank you so much for all the supportive no brooking rat smackers!! I am most definitely brooking no argument whatsoever on behalf of everyone else on this thread as well, from those just getting started on the SWI, to everyone in the 2ww, and right through to the brand new confirmed preggos booking their own appointments!

Wants3 · 22/08/2011 14:23

Oops, I have just stripped all the wallpaper in my hallway on a whim! I think I will use early nesting as the reason when DH gets home. Any one willing to back me upSmile.

maybebabyR · 22/08/2011 14:25

Grin Wants

What prompted this? I would definitely blame it on nesting. Or you could always try the 'it was an accident' approach...

GenericDietCola · 22/08/2011 14:28

Little if you are ovulating later this week, we are cycle buddies again! Bad news re your LP - have you tried B6? It has worked for me before when I had a short LP so goodness knows why I feel so rubbish this week

Scream great that you are getting proper attention already! Yay for Squeak - hang in there!

CakePigeon · 22/08/2011 14:32

Grin imps I laughed so much at your nipple feeling story! I was having a bit of an exploratory boob grope at my desk this morning too but I think I'll have to rein it in now!

scream I hope your booking in all goes swimmingly

thelittlefriend · 22/08/2011 14:38

I've been taking 50mg B6 for a few weeks now, so watch this space! Hope to be cycle buddies for longer than about 4 dpo, which is the length of my lp the past couple of cycles!

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 22/08/2011 14:48

Between the no brooking and the vit B your confirmation is assured this month Little!! I hope you and Generic enjoy your last round of SWI this week, you might even start to miss it over the next 9 months! Hmm

Cake I still have all my fingers crossed for you!! Your confirmation of the Blindingly Obvious is just so close!!

maybebabyR · 22/08/2011 14:51

Cake when are you confirming?

Hope the B6 works for you Little (of course it will, only a matter of time before that BFP)

Imps7 · 22/08/2011 15:01

Wants what a brilliant thing to do on a whim!! My mum once did that with a wall in their house - when dad went to work there was a separate lounge and dining room; when he came back it was open plan! Lucky for her that it didn't turn out to be a supporting wall I suppose! There's clearly something about mothers and random destruction DIY - this is a certain sign that you are up the duff.

Here's brooking no argument that your LP sorts itself out Little. The BFP is YOURS my friend!

In slightly disappointing news, I just nipped out to the loos for a proper boob fondle and they now feel perfectly normal. Oh well, I suppose that I'm going to have to start digging up some other symptoms from somewhere.

farfallarocks · 22/08/2011 15:08

imps, love the boob fondling, I kept on doing that at my desk last month in front of the intern who was just totally Hmm

I am feeling well positive this month and not even the following have annoyed me:

Friends this weekend saying we 'should not leave it too late'
My preggers friend (1st try) describing herself as 'fertile myrtle'. I said when I get updiffed and have a baby I am never going back on the pill, will just see what happens. She said, oh well, I am fertile myrtle so will have to be back on the pill pronto. Annoying or what?
2 birth announcements and a pregnancy announcement SO FAR THIS MORNING AND ITS ONLY MONDAY

And I am still feeling :) so I reckon this thread is a miracel worker.

OP posts:
CakePigeon · 22/08/2011 15:08

little fingers crossed that your vitamins help. Cycles are so annoying, mine are usually 35 or 37 days long -stupid body!

I am considering a second test on weds if AF hasn't arrived by then thank you for the positivity scream I think you are brooking enough for the both of us Smile at least I hope you are as i have been wavering madly between convincing myself I'm preggers and being convinced that AF is coming! I am trying to handle the 2ww in a non-psycho way but it isn't really happening!
Aaarrggghhh

GenericDietCola · 22/08/2011 15:08

Little I hope it works and we get to be cycle buddies right through to May when our babies are born (in a pain free stylee of course).

Imps LOL at boob fondling in the loo!

I'm going to stop the vit B complex - I really think it's upsetting my stomach. It might not be the vitamins themselves, but the tablets are quite a lurid green colour (no artificial colours, but lots of seaweed etc) and it's making my wee bright green as well as the nausea/dodgy stomach. Not nice. Think I will trust the Tesco's ante natal tablets, complete with smiling, smug woman-with-bump and continue brooking no argument.

Now where are those pom poms? And didn't Ninja say something about sausage rolls?

GenericDietCola · 22/08/2011 15:11

Farfalla I love your new serene attitude. I found out today that a colleague is preggo so instead of harrumphing I went to see her to say congratulations and had a good ole chat about how it's going. I also made sure I breathed in some of the preggo hormones emanating from her (subtly of course), knowing that that's bound to ensure conception for me this month. Oh yes.

NinjaChipmunk · 22/08/2011 15:20

farfalla and Generic I am loving both your styles of serene positiveness. The general good vibes you are giving off are fab, you are both glowing!

GenericDietCola · 22/08/2011 15:29

Ta Ninja

Solars · 22/08/2011 15:39

Since being on this thread I have to say I am so much more positive and glad I went out to dinner with pregnant cousin last week, hoping the pregnancy cooties have well and truly infected me!

Imps you are very funny, I wouldn't have the nerve to handle boobies during working hours!

maybebabyR · 22/08/2011 15:43
Solars · 22/08/2011 15:45

Scream good to see you getting an early appointment, will be brooking for you and Squeak
