Hi all!

I've just fell off the March bus last night and feeling Sad. There is another bus for April but I didn't see any familiar names on it and I know a few old friends fell off the March bus so I thought I'd start my own bus (first one I've really started!)

So I'm handing round the Wine and Biscuit and sitting at the back 'til AF
buggers off finishes her lovely visit!

oh for heavens sake am showing myself as being completely scatty when I posted onto another April bus my desolation about being practically hanging onto said bus by a thread after my prime weekend being spent celibately with the inlaws. I had a look at some of the other posts and thought these are all new names and "hey" I have been taken off the list. Only today to realise that it was THE COMPLETELY WRONG BUS! So here I am, still desolate and wondering if there is a shread of hope left in my cycle. In that hope I came home determined to be a siren for the rest of the cycle only to have DP whisked (or wisked) away from me to a meeting in Brussels. Lets hope I can persuade him that what is needed in the morning is a lie in to recover before venturing into the office.

Sad

Lol Random, come in and take a seat.

Hero, maybe it's the type of test? I've had 5 BFN's and still think they are wrong. I've been reading a few threads and apparently internet cheapies can be more sensitive than boots and other tests.

Good luck for your interview and hope you can put it out of your mind sufficiently until you can test with a more sensitive test. Fx for you.

heroinahalfshell · 11/08/2011 15:35

Bfn :(

Bfn :(

Zwitterion · 11/08/2011 18:20

Oh Hero how disappointing for you. I learnt from here the other day that the +/- tests are a bit dodgy. There have been reports of ink bleeding into the vertical line. I had two of these the other day, BFN for other tests.

180 I don't really have much of a plan! Every day I wake up thinking enough's enough, I won't test today as obv not pg, but then come the afternoon I find myself accidentally poas. I clearly have problems.

So far I have done tesco's, boots, Morrisons, first response, clear blue and today a bargain 3 for a quid one from the pound shop.

What on earth is going on with my body? Is it possible to just not have a period?

180 · 11/08/2011 18:30

I think you really have to wait around 45 days or so unless you are getting severe pains in which case it may be ectopic and then has to be looked at, but I think in those cases you get a positive result.

From what I've read it's either due to:
no ovulation
very late ovulation
drugs (eg pill etc)
menopause
stress
faulty test

For me it could well be stress in which case I ov'd late or it's a chemical one and am just waiting for when my actual AF is due. Given my current mood swings and desire to eat all in sight I think I'm going to get my AF in the next couple of days which will at least leave me free to continue ttc. Will know if it's chem if it's a very painful AF as mine are usually ok. Had one when ttc#1 the month before I actually conceived her. I see it as a practice run, though v frustrating.

Sad hero, have you tried other tests too? I would definitely recommend waiting a couple of days and trying again if you have the patience. (says I, having done 5 tests in a week!).

Zwitterion · 11/08/2011 18:47

Thanks 180 that's really useful. I don't think I'm particularly stressed, and I really hope I'm not menopausal. I haven't been on the pill for years, and not taking any other meds. This is really unusual for me, although I did only test positive with DD 4 days after AF was due, so maybe some hope there. I don't feel pregnant though, just normal.

I'll just have to wait and see. It's so frustrating though, as if AF had arrived at least we can get going next month. Actually next month would be ideal as we're off on holiday.

Ho hum. Good luck everyone.

harmonyb23 · 11/08/2011 19:50

Did a first response test today and got a BFN :(

Really am hoping that it is just because I have tested 4 days early. Was hoping that seen as it said I could test up to 6 days early it would work. Think I will wait till AF is due now to test again, so disappointed.

Sorry to hear about the BFN's Heroin as the others said maybe try a different pregnancy test.

Hope everyone else is well. Fingers crossed for some BFP's - think positive ladies :)

ingo · 11/08/2011 20:06

i got a test last night from sainsburys cheapest one was a clear blue at £8 summat :s
took it this morning and for the 1st time in 1yr 4mths i got a posative.
just read about the -/+ can sometimes be dodgy so im panicking a bit now suppose i better do another 1 this weekend

Zwitterion · 11/08/2011 20:13

Oh ingo that's great news! Was it a thick line? I think if it's a thick line (can be pale or dark) it's ok, it's just a very thin line to the left of where the vertical would be is a bit dodge.

I'll try and link for you. Hold on a mo.

ingo · 11/08/2011 20:22

thanks :) it was a thickish medium vertical line going straight through the middle. dont really know what to do next now my dp doesnt believe it because weve been trying for a while lol
dont know how im going to keep it a secret for 2 more months

ingo · 11/08/2011 20:24

and good luck to everyone else hope you get possative tests soon

Zwitterion · 11/08/2011 20:25

Then you're pregnant! Congratulations!

Zwitterion · 11/08/2011 20:26

Here's the link here

ingo · 11/08/2011 20:44

thanks for the link it says it was done in 2007 so hopefully they all work now

Zwitterion · 11/08/2011 20:49

Yes I hope so too and yours sounds absolutely fine.

I got very thin lines on two CBs I did on my AF due date, every other test has been negative, so suggests the issue is still there though.

Thick lines good!

180 · 12/08/2011 09:55

still nothing here but feeling af'y

anyone else?

heroinahalfshell · 12/08/2011 13:05

Bfn :(

And AF :( :(

180 · 12/08/2011 13:25

Sad hero. I think I'm following the same path had BFN with FR this morning so that rules me out totally and am expecting AF tomorrow. Already have the warning headache. Off to join other bus properly but will keep a toe in here to see what happens!

heroinahalfshell · 12/08/2011 13:42

Oh god sorry about all the double posts!!!! My phone has been awful down here!!

Sn0wGoose · 12/08/2011 13:56

Hi!

I'm a long-time lurker, and I think it's time I boarded a bus!! I've never done the statty thing, so this is 99% guesswork:

Sn0wgoose (27) ttc #1 CD22 AF due 20th Aug

Anyone else find they literally hold their breath for the 10ish days between ov-period and AF?? Driving myself potty

180 · 12/08/2011 14:07

errr... yep Snow. Welcome to the thread (even though I'm one foot off it as no longer doing a 2ww..it's been 3 weeks now and 6 BFN's!)

I found eating lots of brie and anything else one shouldn't eat while pregnant really helps because if you are... this is the last time you'll have it for a while! And it's nice and indulgent Smile
