Ps- just been reading that 'who does your dh/dp look like?' thread... what about you ladies? Who do you get told your dh looks like [nosey emoticon]

bluesatinsash · 05/09/2011 12:56

Grin cupcake My DH used to be told he looked like

(a) Richard Gere and

(b) Patrick Swayze

Grin Shock Grin Hmm Biscuit

He has the Patrick Swayze top lip overhang and does look a teeny bit like Richard Gere, especially after a few Wine.

An old boyfriend of mine was the spitting image of Jason Patrick (Lost Boys) although my friends used to tease me and say he was more 'Bruno' from Fame GrinT'was the curly hair Wink

Enjoy Grey's - love it!

bakingqueen · 05/09/2011 15:07

moon - eloping is the way to go we got married in New York and told noone not even our parents till we got back we just did not want the fuss xx

GracieGirl · 05/09/2011 19:42

Wow BQ that's amazing! How old is Luca now , I keep losing track of everyone.

GracieGirl · 05/09/2011 19:49

My DH's uncle lives in America, he and his girlfriend invited a few friends and family over for a BBQ and no body was any the wiser till the couple disappeared for a few mins and came back with a registrar and the wedding march playing on the CD player!! Instant wedding! Grin I don't think the parents were impressed but at least they were invited!
Shame the rules don't let you do that in the UK.

loueytb3 · 06/09/2011 13:08

Hello! Bloody awful weather, and guess who had to take Isaac for his first day at school this morning Hmm.

GG you poor love, lots of hormones flying around but not much consolation when you are being so sick. I would seriously think about going to the Drs if you are being sick so often. Must be very hard with graciegirl to look after too. Were you this sick when you were pg with her?

vjay you dark horse you Grin gretna green - love it! You too BQ

moon I say you have the wedding YOU want (and not what everyone else wants/or thinks you should have). We went down the v traditional route (apart from getting married in a church) but we did get married in a castle. But that was because I really wanted to get married in a castle (delusions of grandeur...)

blue your DH sounds dishy

cupcake I've just discovered that Greys Anatomy is being played from the start so I'm recording it to watch whilst feeding Oscar. I think I probably started watching at series 3/4 I think. The only person my DH has ever been likened to is Pc Plum from Balamory Blush and that was from a friends DD.

curly and mls have fx for you this month.

bq so glad you are getting some longer stretches of sleep finally!

barbie enough about the nice weather! Hope you are managing to stay out of trouble this week.

4ever AF coming is most crap when it shouldn't be there at all, and I can't imagine how you must be feeling after so many losses. Big hugs from me, and I hope that your holiday will be just the break you need (in all senses of the word!).

Waves to monkey, LBM, buddha, strawberry (come back!) and probably loads of others I've forgotten.

So Isaac started school this morning Smile. Not a tear shed from me. There seriously wasn't time. Luke was playing up because he wasn't getting the attention (refused to eat breakfast and was on time-out at 7am!). I was trying to get Isaac dressed and finish feeding Oscar, it was all a bit stressful! I am taking him to school today and then tomorrow the taxi will pick him up at 7.30am (with an escort). It took me an hour to drive there this morning, the traffic was hideous. But he went in without a backward glance - he was very excited bless him. I had a dreadful nights sleep last night, didn't get to sleep until after 2am, too many things going round in my head. When I did get to sleep I had a nightmare about the chip pan blowing up. Have no idea what that is about!! I've also got a throat infection which is bloody annoying as I am starting my health kick this week and want to do some exercise but really don't feel like it.

After dropping Isaac off, I took Oscar to be weighed and he is now a chubster at 11lbs Grin. He has been squealing and gurgling in the past couple of days and being generally very cute.

Time to go, a nice healthy sandwich awaits..

cupcakefairy · 06/09/2011 20:08

Hi ladies :)
blue lucky you- Patrick Swayze = yum!! Grin and louey lol at PC Plum Grin
My dh has had a few comparisons to Prince William but I honestly don't see the likeness Confused (thankfully he doesn't have the hairline!!)

louey supermum gold star to you, don't know how on earth you do it! Ahh fab I loved the early seasons of Greys...think 3 was my favourite though I've watched them all in such quick succession they blur together!

BQ WOW at getting married in NY that's amazing!! And gracie loved the story about your uncle...that is such a cool idea!

barbie you've gone quiet...I really hope you're not upset about list-gate (you too strawbs) ...as moon rightly reminded us, we are all here to help and support each other so I would hate to think anyone would stay away because of bad feeling. Have you had another scan now?

Ds is so cute at the moment, saying more and more words. He's totally obsessed with saying 'bye bye' and literally says it to everything while waving. This morning he said 'bye bye dada' for the first time when dh left for work

Still waiting for him to say anything vaguely french sounding but then I guess he hears it a LOT less than English so wouldn't yet.

barbie1 · 07/09/2011 14:19

Im here but just lurking Smile (had to say something before i dropped off the scale and lost you lot on the threads im on)

VJay · 07/09/2011 16:15

Hi sorry I've not been back on, but I've had a poorly ajay, he's had a temp and cold and is really miserable with it. Anyway, I spoke to Cjays teacher and she's going to have a word with the other girl. He seems ok Smile

Right all you two week waiters, how many are there? When are we testing? Just getting my pom poms ready. I like this commando bench, I can drink Wine and shake my pom poms Grin

OP posts:
4everhopeful · 07/09/2011 20:27

Been lurking too... just marking a would be edd/birthday tomorrow for my 4th lost angel... xxxxxx

Not dwelling, just remembering, as without them though there would be no Summer Smile so i remain forever grateful to them and their short little lives...

Vjay really glad you spoke to Cjays teacher and he's feeling better about things... I already fear Summer encountering any hostility from other kids, she's such a sociable loving little soul and shrieks with delight at other children and attempts to chat, and occasionly you get one that doesn't respond, and the protective nature kicks in and I'm so offended on her behalf! That's just walking down the road or shopping, god knows what ill be like when she's in school!

Cupcake so sweet the way they are chatting away isn't it? Bye bye has been a particular favourite of Summers for a while now, in sainsburys whilst packing away the weekly shop, she sat in the trolley and waved and said bye to every single person who walked past much to everyones amusement! She is quite the parrot and will copy whatever you say, too cute, be mad to have conversations!

Barbie don't be a stranger, how you weebling? Any news on the move? How about your palpatations?

Sorry must dash now Dh home, he's on his monthly week of lates, ill try and do more personals asap, crazily busy holiday planning, so much extra needed for such a little person! Have invested in a portable DVD player and lots of Peppa Pig, Ben and Holly, and Mr Tumble to hopefully make the 4hr flight not so bad! Hmm Sabs meant to say i was gonna get In the Night Garden tix too, wish i had now, she loves it.... Can't believe Saara is nearly 2! Shock

VJay · 08/09/2011 07:14

Hairstrokes and handholds for 4ever, you are amazingly strong and such a lovely lady Smile

OP posts:
littlebellsmum · 08/09/2011 08:59

What a week for my broad band to go down.... Last post on listgate - I feel very responsible as I suggested it should be reinstated... sorry for all the bad feeling

vjay commando is the way to go - if I remember rightly, this is where both 4ever and I were when we "made" our little girls?

Hope everyone is bearing up - 4ever you are getting through the month of shit and off to the island of love to make your next little one. Hold in there honey. October is just around the corner

Got to go - need to do some work / catch up on Facebook/ emails and am on very slow email in a deli in Glasgow....

loueytb3 · 08/09/2011 13:35

Hugs and hairstrokes for 4ever - tis a dark and dingy day here in London Sad. Take care of yourself and give S lots of cuddles.

Where is the island of love BTW? Portable dvd player is a very good idea.

LBM Glasgow?? I assume for work? You do get about, must be a logistical nightmare!

vjay poor little ajay Sad hope he feels better soon. Glad the teacher is having a word with cjays tormentor. Lets hope thats the last of it.

cupcake I am so not supermum, I think LBM fits that bill. I have probably missed some crucial piece of information, but why would you be expecting J to start talking in French?? Watched the first ever episode of greys, was fab. I now have to wait a whole week for the next episode.

Hi barbie glad to know you're still about Smile

I'm knackered, and have a sore throat and DH has gone away with work for a jolly until tomorrow meaning I am going to have to cope with 3 v tired boys this evening. Luke is being a fecking nightmare because he is not getting the attention. I can't wait for him to start school now, roll on Tuesday. Isaac's transport turned up but I was a bit Hmm yesterday when it turned out he had a booster seat and not a seat with a 5-point harness (despite what I had put on the bloody forms, twice). He is only just over the 15kgs limit and besides that, tries to get out of the seat every time the car stops. His escort is a lovely, but elderly lady who doesn't look as though she would be able to stop him if he ran Hmm. The driver hadn't even put the door lock on, good job I checked before they left. I'm sure it will get better but I was v worried yesterday about the journey.

Right, off to investigate Easter holiday options while O naps...

littlebellsmum · 08/09/2011 14:12

louey where are you watching Greys - what channel is it on? I need to get my mcdreamy fix!
The transport does sound worrying, not to mention luke playing up. Surely it should have been so much easier this week with Issac away but obviously not. And no, I don't think supermum exists but I cope with a lovely dh who is at home/ work most of the time , leaving me to go where I need to be . And yes, Glasgow was work and I'm on my way home now.

Hope the throat gets better - what are the holiday plans looking like? We are thinking about going back to see our friends in Dubai in Feb and if we are really lucky/ win the lottery, visit some other friends in Canada in the summer but lets see.

Got to do some work now - boo

loueytb3 · 08/09/2011 14:44

LBM its on Really - I'd never heard of it before. Monday nights and then repeated on Tuesdays at 4pm. We wanted to go to Florida/Disney at Easter but Orlando flights are booked already. I'm trying to see where else we can fly to (possibly Miami or Tampa). Also looking at the caribbean. We just want to go somewhere with guaranteed sun. Most of the med is not hot enough for my liking at Easter. I did wonder about Dubai but we want a villa and most of the holidays there are hotel based. Canada would be wonderful.

cupcakefairy · 08/09/2011 15:28

[Grin] sorry louey u must've thought i was loopy expecting ds to suddenly speak french! i speak it as we lived there a few yrs when i was little so i try to speak it to ds/read him french books etc, just want him to pick up a bit not expecting him to be fluent. he does understand 'give mummy a kiss' in french Grin
hugs to 4ever must dash x

QuestionableAntics · 08/09/2011 16:47

heeeeellllllllllloooooooooooo!

Have been missing in action again, sorry. I do lurk from time to time and then never have time to post. May be slightly easier as like some our other Emmsy's DS has started school. he had his 1st day on Monday and was fantastic, looked very handsome in his school uniform and was excited to finally be starting. I was a bit tearful once I had dropped him off, but felt really proud.

Just don't know where the summer has gone, lots of talk of holidays on here! 4ever wish i was going on holiday too, sounds like it has come just at the right time and will be a lovely time for you to spend with just your DH and summer. No wonder you are looking forward to booking a holiday louey in fact come next week, when both boys are finally in school it will feel like a mini-holiday! must be the same for you LBM now the older children have gone back to school. Smile at your DS cupcake* a very important phrase to learn in french!

Congratulations Gracie very exciting. Smile Smile sorry you are feeling so rough though.

Just doing some baking and go the recipe from Mumsnet, hence why i am on here while cooking, so had better get back to it, but couldn't resist popping on!!

Hope you are all ok, missed loads of you out, but have no capacity to remember things at the moment!! Will be back soon......... x

CurlyLikesShortShorts · 08/09/2011 22:40

Well it's quiet in the greenhouse tonight Hmm

moon just a couple more weeks to wait for some answers! I hope you are doing okay lovely x

Big waves to QA you domestic goddess Grin it's nice to see ya!

lbm don't be blaming yourself you nutter. And come back strawberry and barbie please, we love you both too much to get along without you xxx

4ever big hugs today lovely and a special thought for your little lost angel :( which I remember was not long before I had my second MC. What a long way you have come since the beginning of this thread. Here's a kiss for each of your little ones xxxxxx

cupcake I used to have an icandy too but I got sick of lugging it around. I get baby envy though now when I see one as it reminds me of those lovely newborn days. Total heartmelt at bye bye dada x

blue I am drooling at the thought of your dh Blush he sounds yum. Maybe I will come visit Grin

louey I am still laughing at luke having a timeout at 7am. I had to introduce the naughty step the other day for curlygirl after a biting episode. I was amazed she stayed there though her sad face nearly broke my heart :( I'm so glad Isaac's first day went well :)

gracie here is my hand for sunday. As lovely moon says, bean doesn't need a scan xx

vj well done for sorting out with Cjays teacher. You are such a lovely mum. Seeing as you have your white coat on, here is my update. Day 18 of a 30 days cycle. I'll test if I get to day 32 again :) But we haven't done dtd since day 12 so I dunno Hmm

sabs thanks so much for sending on the link for ITNG. I need to look at booking I can't seem to get anything done at the moment. Let me know when is good to meet up I can't wait to see you and the nearly birthday girl x

Big hugs and hairstrokes to all you lovely ladies xxx

VJay · 09/09/2011 07:02

Morning Smile
TMI alert, don't read if eating

I went to the hospital yesterday to get my cervical lump checked out. The doc said before she took a look that she knew it was a ( something ?) cyst and it was very common and not to worry then she had a look to confirm. She was there for a while as she couldn't see the coil threads either. Anyway she said it's not this cyst and isn't sure what it is so now I've got to go back for s colcoscopy and biopsy and then a scan to check the coil. The joys of being female!!!

Sorry for the me post.

curly it could happen Grin

OP posts:
loueytb3 · 09/09/2011 09:22

Oh vjay {{{{hugs}}} that's the last thing you need. It will probably turn out to be nothing but better to be sure. How long will you have to wait to be seen???

QA lovely to see you and I'm glad your DS's first day at school went well. I hope you are going to have a rest now! What's your due date?

curly could still happen as vjay says. Often it's the cycles that you think you have no chance which turn into a bfp (at least that's what happened with me).

Losing my voice...fed up of this bug, it is lingering. DH away overnight and it was carnage this morning. Can't wait for the weekend and (fx) a mini lie-in....

loueytb3 · 09/09/2011 09:24

Meant to say cupcake - makes sense now! Grin I knew you went to France a fair bit but didn't know you used to live there.

4everhopeful · 09/09/2011 09:29

Oooh vjay not nice... Confused Hope you're not worrying too much? When was your last smear? I had a dodgy smear in 2002 & bad cells removed in a colposcopy/biopsy but I'm such a wimp I had it done under a general anaesthetic! Its not really that bad as just laser treatment I think, but i'm close to passing out when I have an injection, Blush however after 6 pregnancies, if I needed another colposcopy id be awake as its over very quickly... When will you have it all done?

QA what did you bake? How's your other bun in the oven coming along? How long now?

Talking of which, Curly I'm shaking my pom poms at you! Grin Bless you for remembering my 6 kiss sign off for my 5 angels and my precious 1 earth angel Summer Smile - random fact - did I ever mention that my last but one, of my many midwives over that 5 day induction, was a wonderful man called Angel (spanish pronounciaton) Grin

Louey bit of a worry about Isaacs transport situation.. Hmm Did you make a decision re your hols? All options are fantastic imo! With you on need of guaranteed sun, btw island of love is Cyprus, and its about 98degrees at the mo! Grin

LBM are you still in Glasgow? High five for lovely DHs Grin

Waves to our other Scottish lasses neeko & blue

Thanks for your hugs and hairstrokes yesterday lovelies.. Was pretty uneventful tbh, just quietly remembered.. Wierd one though that a friend id not seen for ages popped round with a very late and overdue 1st birthday card and pressie for Summer which is now sitting on our kitchen table! That seemed an apt nice reminder really iykwim..
? Now building up to my DDDDDDDDDads should be 60th birthday on sunday.... Sad We are taking my mum for a meal at a family pub on the common that we all used to go to when i was little, DH and I had our first date there too.... Smile We will also let off some balloons in my mums garden, including a 60 one Smile we've found our own way of marking it over these last 6 yrs... Always remember his 50th as was day of 9/11 Confused 2yrs ago his birthday was marked in the best way ever - we conceived his granddaughter! Grin

VJay · 09/09/2011 10:43

Not sure how long I have to wait but she did say that the colcoscopy clinic runs through quite quickly die to it's nature. I had a smear done at the beginning of the year and was all ok so I'm sure it's nothing.

Will try and catch up later, ajay is very miserable today x
