WTTC Apr/May/Jun Graduation thread

Hey, this is a thread for all the graduates from the Waiting to TTC thread who are going to start trying April/May/June. We've all got to know each other too well to just bugger off on our separate ways now! And if any of the Waiting crew who are still waiting want to pop by there will always be cups of tea (or something stronger) for you!

So, grab your folic acid and your sexy undies and get comfy (possibly with your legs in the air...?)

I know my DH hasn't been taking his zinc Hmm they should have run out in Feb but there is about half a pot left!! Apparently they get stuck in his throat! Hmm Hmm He should try taking my Omega ones they are the size of horse pills!!! Men!!

JS - You have given me hope that these Men can change their mind!! :)

melliebobs · 05/04/2011 09:34

what are the benefits of DH taking zinc?

JustShaggingForNow · 05/04/2011 09:55

benefits of zinc ;)

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 05/04/2011 10:02

You can get fluorescent vit C and zinc pills (sorry, I mean effervescent, but DH calls them fluorescent because, well, they are!)

I haven't got mine taking zinc, he's just on multivits, maybe I should get some for him. He's really excited about the idea of a baby. This morning he thought it would be funny to ask me if I was on heat yet, then proceeded to refer to me as a brood mare and him as a stud. Har de har. I was unimpressed. Especially because I'm all hormonal and grouchy atm!

Went through those baby clothes from my friend last night - they are very cute. Lots of t-shirts with diggers on and dungarees with rockets - good thing I'm not all 'pink is for girls'... though I wouldn't object to the odd frilly dress :-)

Wonder what it'll be... when we get there. Dammit. I'm getting ahead of myself again. Bah, better get back to my transcription work. So dull

Cheers for the link! Line 3 sold it! (I'll read the rest later) bob in to Tesco later n get him some n make sure he has them too!

JustShaggingForNow · 05/04/2011 13:09

Cakes Sorry but I can't help giggling at your DH calling you a brood mare.... Grin

I am resisting the urge to actually go into baby shops although I have been known to spend hours looking at casually browse the mamas and papas, white company and john lewis websites for baby clothes, nursery furniture etc etc etc. Blush

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 05/04/2011 13:52

JS - yes, he seemed to think it was funny too. Git. ;-)

And after my little luxuriate in the cast-offs I have banned myself from doing anything but knitting and taking folic acid to 'prepare' until I'm actually upduffed... or maybe just until we're TTC... we'll see ;-)

The White Company is dangerous - so many pretty but painfully expensive things!

js ah weve all done it. I keep losing my time pram/carseat shopping on the Internet. Talk about getting ahead of myself! But they are all so shiny, techie and gadgety looking! DH thinks I'm a bit sad but I cought him eying one up the other week when were walking the dog!!!!

JustShaggingForNow · 05/04/2011 15:32

Oooh - DH already knows more than he really should about prams and is (bless him) His latest pram crush is the Stokke (about which I knew nothing until I looked it up online!!)

It's no wonder he was putting off TTC for financial reasons when he looks at the top of the range stuff!!

melliebobs · 05/04/2011 16:14

very nice! I'm quite liking the iCandy apple at the moment! And it's in chrome! oooooooooooooo i have no idea how much that is but the other half has been told to expect to pay more for a pram/travel system than what my car is worth! And he thought i was joking when he looked into it! lol when the time comes my bambino is being pushed around in style and comfort! lol

JustShaggingForNow · 05/04/2011 16:31

Hahaha! I think men either get this stuff or really can;t understand how expensive it all is. I am lucky in a way that DH is Obsessed with having the top of the range kit for anything and so Baby Just will be spoilt rotten!!!

Think that I need to name change now that I am not JustShagging anymore. Suggestions please?

JustShaggingNowWithAddedIntent
NolongerJustShagging
JustShaggingNoMore
JustSWI

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 05/04/2011 16:37

ShaggingWithIntent ?

either than or the NoLonger one :-)

Am I alone in thinking a separate care seat and buggy arrangement is more economically viable? I am a total cheapskate I know, but those travel systems are like - five hundred squid!!!

Anyway - I want to be a lentil weaving sling-wearing mummy ;-)

OP posts:
JustShaggingForNow · 05/04/2011 16:51

LOL Cakes - Lentil weaving.... harharhar! I like the idea of a sling though as it'll be much easier for just popping to the shops that a bloomin travel system. I'm afraid that I can see myself being a very non organic mummy and will probably be the one most likely to be found driving a Chelsea tractor with boden clad kids and a puppy in tow..... Blush

I thought that £500 was pretty good value (shows how little I know!!) The Stokke one DH has found is about £900 Shock!!!

DarciesmumandTTC2 · 05/04/2011 16:52

Hey ladies.

Cakes Grin at you being a broody mare. Also I will be getting a Graco carseat with auto lock for the car and seperate buggy. As I can't stand babys being kept in a car seat when ppl go shopping so not good for baby or their organs being all squished up.

JS I think ShaggingWithIntent is good.

Ladies, Ebay is a great place for baby things. Esp buggys. Expect i'll be getting mine from there I want a Jane, or loola.

ShaggingWithIntent · 05/04/2011 16:56

Testing new name - FX!

ShaggingWithIntent · 05/04/2011 16:56

:)

DarciesmumandTTC2 · 05/04/2011 17:19

I like that new name Grin

Decides this 2ww is not good I'm not a patient person lol. However, still got a bit of EWM so not sure if still ovulating?!

DreamingOfABump · 05/04/2011 18:36

hi :D
was also a "waiter" (of the non teatowel over the arm variety) on the last thread and would like to officially be a "tryer" Grin
not that im excited or anything Grin Grin Grin

....maybe a bit then.
anyhoo, must confess to also being drawn to baby websites, although not to superdooper expensive travelystystemy things as i just think its a bit of a waste for something thats going to be pooped all over, plus im a bit cringey about the status symbol-ness of it all :s

While we're on confessing to be saddo list making not yet updiffed's, have a little suggestion for you list makers! whattogive.com do a list where u just paste the webaddress of said "awesome/essential" baby/maternity item and wham bam u have a wish list for now and a 'please dont buy me something i hate' list for the mother in law later!

DarciesmumandTTC2 · 05/04/2011 18:40

DreamingofaBump Welcome, grab a seat, not forgetting your bottle of water and sanatogen vitamins lol.

Good idea about the list thingy, however, I have stuff from DD still so will just be the buggy for me :)

DreamingOfABump · 05/04/2011 19:19

thanks :)
im being a bit rubbish with the pregnacare as i keep forgetting to take it! (good job im no longer on the pill huh?!)
I think i need to go back to the old thread to refresh my memory of who everyone is. all i remember is that about 99% of us are 28. It must be the age at which the clock starts to tick or something!

DarciesmumandTTC2 · 05/04/2011 19:30

Yep i'm one of the 28 club lol. Agree about the bio clock ticking thing.

I take a large glass of water/juice to bed with me, so first thing in the morning I take my sanatogen and evening primrose oil :)

DreamingOfABump · 05/04/2011 19:38

ah see i could remember it if it was first thing, but pregnacare says take with a meal and so i forget Blush but i have plain folic acid next to my bed so if ive forgotten the preg i can take the fa before bed, thats the most important bit anyway

DarciesmumandTTC2 · 05/04/2011 19:48

Lol! Doesn't say that with my sanatogen not that I've checked lol

melliebobs · 06/04/2011 07:53

resented the dh with a bottle of zinc supplements last night. I think his response was along the lines of 'what are they for? don't you realise I have super sperm?! You'l be knocked up ith at least twins this month!' hmmmm in our first month of trying?! i dont think it really works like that! bless him

DarciesmumandTTC2 · 06/04/2011 08:16

Mellie be thankful your DH is enthusiastic about it :)

Hope you ladies have a wonderful day x
