nope, i used my last test (which i was supposed to be saving for today oops) last night as couldnt wait. bfn. have ordered some internet cheapies but dont think they'll be here til tuesday. if i can hold out that would be a good thing probably to test then.

delilahbelle · 08/05/2011 10:20

Definitely. Think I have gone through about 8 tests since CD21, despite knowing they were likely to be bfn. Luckily I had 15 cheap tests, hopefully won't need to re-order.

I am now worrying that my middle of the night line was an evap line or false positive, it's so so faint you can only see it in bright light. So I will be testing for a good few days yet. Damn you, pee-stick habit.

DreamingOfABump · 08/05/2011 10:28

i dont think u can get a false positive (except maybe on the clearblue cross ones) and faint line is still a positive. u only really get evap lines if u read it too late after when ur supposed to i think. i think its sounds good :)

think we both have to wait a couple of days and test again. x

delilahbelle · 08/05/2011 17:41

Coffee dreaming me too :(

Am trying to convince myself that a line is a line. AF due any time from tomorrow, am praying she stays away. Have 4 tests left, so will try again tomorrow.

Hope AF stays away for all of us and we get some nice strong lines.

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 08/05/2011 20:37

Testing again tomorrow morning I think - will update you then. Does anyone know - do you have to see a GP for your initial (booking?) appointment, or will a nurse practitioner do? Far easier to get an appt with an NP...

DreamingOfABump · 08/05/2011 21:42

u can go straight to the midwife. wouldnt bother with np. u need to have booking appt with midwife around 8 weeks x

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 09/05/2011 07:40

OK - I'm calling the doctors' today to see if I can get an appt - got another faint line, but far less faint than before and that's, like, the fifth test. I think I can start getting excited now, right? BFP?

sounds like a bfp to me :) congrats!
not sure if the gp will actually do anything other than tell you to make an appt with the midwife when ur 8 weeks from 1st day of last period.

DreamingOfABump · 09/05/2011 08:18

another bfn for me this am but no af.....

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 09/05/2011 10:00

Keeping my fingers crossed for you, Dreaming :-)

I rang the Gp practice and they said for a first pregnancy that I need to see a GP and found me an appointment today! (That never happens) They even found me one at 5pm so DH could come too! I am shocked and stunned and pretty chuffed and hoping the doctor confirms it :-)

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 09/05/2011 12:40

DreamingOfABump · 09/05/2011 13:40

Pipbin - I have been carrying on running but just doing 5ks each time iad dropped my long run and stopped doing any interval. Im a little nervous as have had 3 mcs previously and when pregnant with 3rd and ds1 the hospital put me on bed rest which didnt help with the 3rd one. Was supposed to be on bed rest with ds2 but was not possible as ds1 was 7 months old when I got pregnant so was running around after him and picking him up. So thought well if Im doing that might as well start swimming an yoga and all fine. I have talked to doc and a friend who is a mw and both said fine to carry on. I have also only been running for a year so still feel like a newbie. However as the months go by feeling a bit silly taking it easy and feel the need to push myself more. Whats your view? (sorry for the essay btw).
Hope all goes well at docs makes but it sounds good.
Oh dreaming hope you get answers soon. And everyone in the faint line club, heres hoping for some really fat ones.

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 09/05/2011 16:41

Dreaming - as long as you don't start collecting together little cuddly toys and storing them in your bed with nice soft jumpers and blankies like my friend's dog did when she had a phantim pregnancy... ;-)
xx

DreamingOfABump · 09/05/2011 18:00

The appt was great - the GP was about my age and 7 months pregnant! She was really nice, didn't rush me. Just took my blood pressure, talked a bit about dates, told me what appts were coming up - stuff like that.

She's booking me in for a dating scan as she said it was best to do that as soon as possible and told me about the screening tests... That was mostly it.

Feeling a bit concerned about DH atm. He's always struggled a little with his moods and his family and today he seems to be battling with both. He's worried about how his parents are going to react (not the most supportive of human beings) and he feels like he ought to be happy that he's going to be a daddy and is beating himself up that he isn't. He doesn't seem to believe me that I feel like the baby is just make believe atm and am not ecstatic all the time either.
Poor darling.

DreamingOfABump · 10/05/2011 08:34

sounds great re appt. Nice to have time to talk things thrugh with someone who can relate and get ball rolling on things like scans.
lots of people struggle with feeling guilty for not being over the moon at being preg all the time but its a really stressful life event and quite normal to have mixed emotions. Hopefully he will relax into with a bit of time and tlc.

orangehead · 10/05/2011 09:22

Sounds good makes, I think it hard for men at first. Your maternal instincts start to kick in straight away as you start to feel pregnant and its all happening to your body. But to him you look the same at this point and it probably doesnt seem real.
Anyhow Im out af got me this morning Sad, I sort of knew I was'nt anyway but you can't help a tiny bit of you thinking maybe. So off to the feb bus, and hopefully wont be seeing any of yu there Wink
