Ahh I'm turning into a crazy woman :( Going to meet up with some friends tomorrow who I haven't seen for ages. 1 has 2 girls who were both concieved on the exact decided date (they were obsessed with having a sept child so it would be the oldest in the year) and another who I have a strong feeling is going to tell us she is pg. Not sure I can put on a happy face and spend a day talking about babies. Envy Will be happy for her but don't want all the 'when are you going to have one' comments. Could always come out with 'well actually we've been trying for a year and I'm now obsessed with EWCM, charting and POAS but no baby still' just to see their faces but not sure I actually want to tell them we are trying and have them waiting every month for news and the inevitable questions. Also really don't want to take the shine off my friends moment.

Just fell down the stairs (only twisted ankle, nothing major) but ended curled at the bottom crying my eyes out. God feel like a manic depressive atm, one minute so positive that this is our month and loving spending time with my DH to crying while watching adverts. Sure this is not helping our ttc.

Sorry to moan, but feel a bit better for getting it off my chest. Will spend tonight practising my happy smile and 'oh wow congratulations!' Who knows, could be she has booked a holiday or something!!!

spidookly · 20/04/2011 15:57

"Anyone want a mini egg chocolate nest thingy?"

Why does egg-shaped chocolate taste even better than normal chocolate?

Lili - moan away, that's what we're here for. It's one of those things you can just say in real life and DHs don't really get it.

Karbea - nice (but not, iyswim) to see you. Come down the back here and snuggle up between orange and me :)

orange - yes, feeling better now. Had horrible nausea combined with period cramps is was vile. But that's all past now.

Liliana1 · 20/04/2011 17:08

Ok taken some deep breaths and regained ability to think slightly more clearly! Thanks spidookly, this TTC malarky is a real emotional rollercoaster, didn't know what I was getting myself into. Any tips on how to stay calm and still get pg?

Hand those chocolatey, egg nest things this way, thanks :)

orangehead · 20/04/2011 17:34

Hi Karbea sorry the witch got you. As spidookly said plenty of room at the back with us. Why do we always end up at the back like naughty school girls, we might have to try and behave ourselves this time so we dnt get a reputation. Gad you feeling better now spidookly
oh liliannna how did you manage to fall down the stairs? Glad it was only your ankle.
Fx for esme

EsmeWeatherwax · 20/04/2011 19:29

Liliana Chocolatey egg nest things can be very good for staying calm! Always work for me.

[Pass them over emoticon]

Have spent a fun afternoon reading up on early symptoms, lol, having an internet phone is doing wonders for my parenting skills, and convincing myself I have some of them...I am such a weak willed creature, lol, did my last test, was bfn, so now can't test again til Friday, cos thats when my ebay cheapies will arrive.

Who's next to test?

blue22 · 20/04/2011 19:58

Sorry for BFN esme but new phone sounds fun Grin I must get something more modern, mine can only text and call - how useless!!! But it's cheap Grin
I'm on CD24 tomorrow so reckon I'll probably cave and test over the weekend, though I know I shouldn't!

Karbea · 20/04/2011 22:03

Haha!!! orange, spiddy yes us three at the back again... Would appreciate it if you guys could stay around at least until test day this time though!!!! X x

goingmadtrying · 20/04/2011 22:13

Welcome to the naughty school girls :) let's hope you get your bfp's together for being good girls on the jan bus

karbea sorry you've had a down day the joys of ttc why do we put ourselves through it?? Obviously I know why and fx it's our lucky month, if cycle was 28 would be due Tuesday, last 4 cycles 28, 28, 29 and 30 days when would be the earliest I should test? Showed early with both other pregnancies and with cbd which are not so sensitive???? Does this mean I produce hcg quickly???

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 20/04/2011 22:36

I've made another batch of nest thingies so help yourselves girls!

I downloaded an ovulation thingy app for my phone (My Days) and it stated that today and tomorrow were the last two of my most fertile, so DH stepped up to the plate and serviced me (to keep with the stud/brood mare analogy. charming) for the 3rd day in a row. I should really go back to bed but someone's FB status annoyed me and now I'm awake and feeling grumpy.

Hi coffee. I asked this question last week as I'm going away next week, no where as exotic as Italy:). The consensus was a few drinks each night would be ok, I am going to test on Monday before I go, due anyday from Tuesday to Thursday :)

goingmadtrying · 21/04/2011 06:31

Any news today esme? Think there's a run of us due to test next week isn't there?

Sarah blue waiting and louise what day you going to test??? Fx we get at least 1 bfp :)

75sarah · 21/04/2011 07:13

Hello all,
Been away for a bit. I've also had news that someone close is having a baby
(No, of course it doesn't matter that neither of you work, haven't got a home and have only known each other since Christmas) Am suffering a bit from the 'it's not fairs!'
I've not really given much thought to testing as - again - I'm convinced that I'm not going to get a BFP. I always get one big horrible spot on my face the week after ov and this cycle I've got 'the spot.'
If af hasn't arrived, I'll be testing on Royal Wedding day but am not holding out any hope of that actually happening.
Sorry that turned into a me, me, me post...
Is anyone testing over the weekend? It'd be nice to hear some good news.
Is there anyone who is 35+ and ttc #1? x

goingmadtrying · 21/04/2011 07:45

Welcome back Sarah don't worry about the me post, sorry your feeling down :( think we've all had that at some point this month

I'm due to test next Thursday thought looking at the stats you was before me?? I'll be testing early as off on holiday on Monday, there's no reason why it can't be your month I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you :)

WaitingforStork · 21/04/2011 07:56

Am trying very hard to be strong and not test until I'm late. My theory is that if I get a BFN before due then I won't believe it anyway and it is much better to be hopeful and in suspense (cheaper too!).

At the minute have no tests in the house so that is helping! Last two cycles were 26 and 27 days so might test on Wednesday (CD27) if I haven't been caught by then.

Really hope to get BFP this month (don't we all) but we had a lovely holiday over OV time and had lots of fun, would be nice to think baby was product of that. Someone on here suggested going on holiday and having a few drinks seemed to be a proven conception method so I put it to the test!

Liliana1 · 21/04/2011 08:24

Sorry you're down Sarah, as you can see I've been queen of the ups and downs esp when its to do with everyone around me getting pg at the drop of a hat - how do those 14 yr olds that 'only do it once' manage it?

Got my fx for esme and hope she has her bfp today to share.

I'm telling myself I'm testing on the royal wedding day. Might not be able to hold off till then, even though I know its early, have bought a load from amazon and people have said the results can be really faint so I want a BFN to compare it with?! (does this make any sense or am I kidding myself and just can't wait?!?)

Any nests left? Chocolate worked a treat yesterday!! Thanks cakes your DH sounds like he's doing a good job! Hope you got back to bed feeling better

Coffee1 and GMThoe you both have a fab holiday and come home with BFP's (and not feeling guilty because of a couple glasses)

75sarah · 21/04/2011 08:26

Thanks, goingmadtrying. Good luck to you too. Such lovely news would be a wonderful start to your holiday.
Waiting for stork I tested early last time...and then spent the next 4 days thinking the BFN might be wrong! I think I regretted doing it but it is so hard when there are only a few days to go until the witch does or doesn't arrive. This time I'm going to try to hold out until - and if - I'm late. It's so difficult though. Those last few days of the 2ww are real stinkers! I've also heard of the holiday theory for conception. Here's hoping - Good luck.
I've got a TMI question! Does a lot of discharge at this stage of the cycle (8 DPO) mean anything? It's not brown or red but there's certainly more of it than I've noticed before. Yuk!

goingmadtrying · 21/04/2011 08:27

Arrrrggghhh I've just bloody poa bloody s and of course bfn annoyed now!!!!!!

OP posts:
75sarah · 21/04/2011 08:29

Hi Liliana - I have a theory that those 14 youar old are at it 24 hours a day like rabbits. They must be, right!?
I'm really hoping to hold out for the royal wedding as it'll be past af by then, but then the witch might have other ideas! x

goingmadtrying · 21/04/2011 08:32

I have 2 proven results of holidays and ttc Grin

I to have had lots of cm just think it's your body processing your cycle.

Feeling really pissed off now wish I hadn't poas!!!!

OP posts:
75sarah · 21/04/2011 08:34

Sorry goingmadtrying. Posts must have crossed. When are you due AF? Might it be too early to tell yet?

EsmeWeatherwax · 21/04/2011 08:38

Morning ladies. No news this morning, other than af still not here, but I ran out of tests yesterday, so have ordered some from eBay, think they'll arrive tomorrow.

Time for the half hour of chaos, getting dd1 ready for preschool nursery. My least favourite time of the day!
My dsil is one of those shagged once and it happened when she was 16. But Dh's family all super fertile, multiplying like rabbits!

blue22 · 21/04/2011 09:07

Oh goingmad I'm sorry for your BFN - but it's very early so could well be wrong - I wish it wasn't so addictive P on sticks! Really trying not to buy any for a few days so I'm not tempted. If I have them in the house all sense of rationality goes out of the window and I'm surrounded by BFN in minutes!
I think that I'll probably test on tuesday as it's the day before DP goes to New Zealand and we're going out for dinner, so would love to be able to give him good news (dream on!) Symptom spotting is continuing - sore boobs for last few days, and still feeling a bit nauseous, but they could also be general PMS symptoms too. So frustrating!
Really hope we'll get some BFP's soon. Come on bus!!!! Grin

EsmeWeatherwax · 21/04/2011 10:59

In the ultimate irony, just poas, (ebay ones arrived) wiped, and there was good old af, large as life! I'm ok with it, first cycle and all that, wasn't really expecting much!

Think I am still on the bus for Jan though, if it happens next month will be due end of the month!

blue22 · 21/04/2011 11:11

Bad luck esme but great that you can stay on the bus! Grin
I'm starting to obsess about p on a stick CD24 - too early - somebody stop me!!
