Hi Girls,

Found out today that I have polycystic ovaries, I haven't ovulated for 6 months and I've not had a period for 3 months.

Going to see the Doctor on Friday to discuss my options (hoping for Clomid).

What are other peoples experiences with this? I'm feeling a bit lost.

xx

Hi, I haven't read all the other messages, but just to give you some hope. I've had three children, without clomid and I have PCOS also.

Good luck

Well I've had my doctors appointment and all went really well. She said that i shouldn't have any problem conceiving naturally as i just have the cysts and not the hormone problems found in the blood tests. So that's really positive and i feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders.

I am still peeing on the sticks and it was positive for ovulation on Saturday so fingers crossed this good path is going to continue and we'll be blessed with a baby soon.

Quick question though, i taking Boots Conception Support tablets at the moment...are you to take them continuously or do you stop when you're on your period?

Hi I am now in my late forties I was diagnosed with PCOS in my early 20s I had lost alot of weight having been overweight. We had decided to try for a baby and were given the news that I had PCOS and I would need some form of treatment.I was put on Clomid and had a severe reaction the endrocrinlogist said it was up to us if we wished to pursue any alternative treatments but we must be aware of risks . We decided not to pursue any other form of treatment in case of any side effects. But he had noticed we were at the same gym as him as we left the clinic that day he said a you know exercise has a funny way of doing things to hormones so keep up the gymn membership. We resigned ourselves to not having kids as even 20 odd years ago there were not many alternatives. and we stopped trying took up other hobbies kept up the gymn I joined Verity at the time which is a self help group for PCOS met women who had had miscarriage after miscarriage or other symptons. Within a year found out to my shock I was pregnant. I have 2 children I have had a miscarriage and all I can surmise is I was the healthiest I had been and had stopped trying the stress was not there any more. I am convinced that it all heped. PCOS is and will always be there and I have other a symptoms but I try to control my wieght and exercise. I am very grateful for the children I have but I am convinced stress lifestyle changes helped me.
